How to Install Laravel Herd in a Windows machine

Laravel herd is a development environment for laravel. Herd is now available on windows. In this video we learn about installing and running the laravel application using herd.

In the general tab, the herdhelper port status is red. How can I fix it?

You can change the port to a different value and restart

It seems Herd free version does not support MySQL DB right? I did not see any section to manage DB

Yes it doesn't but you can use sqlite instead.

done installed but when i hit the url. it showing not like you have like on video. it showing xampp localhost

You have to install your laravel app in the directory C:Users/your_pc_name/Herd and then run your_app_directory_name.test

ah it solved. its my xampp php version update was making it not showing

My herd is not opening after installation..Do i need to uninstall xampp ???

No, just check bottom right on the hidden icons, it might be running already

i can't use example.test in sites. it's tell me can't reach this page. something wrong?

you have to use your folder name, "foldername.test"

Mysql is available for pro users only, but you can create and test your app using sqlite then change to mysql when you deploy

Laravel herd for windows is rubbish!!! Does not install any version of PHP!!! This program is a bad joke!

I think you can install previous versions upto php 7.4
