If you are a ThinkPad user, you are a ThinkPad user. You purchase ThinkPads. I'm on my 16th machine. 😊

I've recently bought an i5 gen 11 x1 carbon, I previously owned the i5 gen 10 x1 carbon also. I can tell you now, the battery life has significantly improved since gen 10, the thermal management is also slightly better. I don't know why but the keyboard on the gen 10 feels a tiny bit nicer, they've definitely changed something - that said, the keyboard is still gorgeous. Overall, the build quality is truly stunning and it's a seriously nice laptop. But I do agree, it is very expensive - but unless you want a Macbook, the options are limited for a premium device. I dual boot Debian on this machine, and it runs really cool and has way better battery life than Windows 11. If you've got the money to burn, buy it. Otherwise I'd wait for the 14th gen processors which hopefully follow the Apple M1/M2 cpu architecture.

Hello, do you know if this model can downgrade from Windows 11 pro to windows 10 pro? I like this model, but I need it with Windows 10 pro.

Battery life and temperatures are pretty important, would’ve been nice if you’d elaborated on those factors.

If I was interested in buying the 11th Gen...I would wait until the end of the year when Lenovo typically has some great sales on their devices. These are normally purchased by enterprise businesses that have large purchasing budgets. That's where Lenovo makes their $$.

I read from two reviewers that the battery life is as bad as Gen 10 and a far cry from the >10 hrs that Gen 9 used to deliver. Gen 11 can only deliver 5-6 hrs based on my readings and no way can exceed 9 hours, is that true ?

I've always had Thinkpads, however, I recently upgraded mine and I chose the LG Gram and don't regret it. It was on sale half the price of a similarly equipped X1. Goodbye Lenovo!

Insert Apple silicon inside ThinkPad chassis and you have the perfect laptop.

    Hello! Nice video!
Heard that the battery from the Oled 2.8k is terrible.
Hope the gen 12 to change that, maybe 1.5 k :D

Can you please talk about the performance compared to other laptops, thermals, and fan noise (decibels) in different performance modes?

What about the battery life with OLED display?

    In my Gen 8 model 2020 I have a great 4K screen display. UHD(3840x2160).
In Gen 11 the maximum screen resolution you can have is 3K (2880 x 1800), OLED.
They have option of 1920 x 1200) too! in 2023!
    Why have they done this?

For the "love of whatever" I wish Lenovo would continue to offer a 4K screen on the 14" X1. I know they think it isn't necessary and opt for a lighter laptop vs a higher resolution screen. But I travel frequently and I much prefer a high resolution screen. I've always had a 4K screen 3840 x 2160 . Please, please, please!!

The price is alright, you compare it with the mac which is 500 bucks cheaper (base model), but you leave out that these machines are built to last least 20-30 years, i actually still have a Thinkpad that i run to manage my servers in the basement, it served a good 20 years as my main working machine across multiple companies, never had a reason to upgrade, and yes i did change the CPU and the ram each 10 years.
Macs on the other had have a life expectancy for about 5 years 7 if apple has pity over you, they do work, they just don't work with Mac os since you know they have to milk the cow each now and than.
Point is, every single penny is justified on Lenovo, regardless if Legion or Thinkpad, solid cooling, solid performance and really good built quality, it's like buying a Porsche, there are cheaper cars that run, and do the same job, some might even look nicer depending on the taste, but you're driving a Porsche and they aren't.

I had 😂 an immaculately kept MacBook pro...14 years.
It could no longer be upgraded and my job had special requirements and the Mac couldn't do the job. I was forced to invest in new equipment.
Yup $491 included tax. HP and customized with 1T data. 😂 does the job well. ❤
