Thank you! Helped me get my rear door working again!

Thanks. I got a 2003 Ford E150 and the side cargo door would not open because the plastic cable sleeve end broke. I bought the 4 piece aluminum latch parts and just needed to see how the went in on the wire and where the ball end attached to! I did not remove the actuator. I was able to get up in there and just attach the end of the cable with the new aluminum sleeve.

Would this work adding them to a manual door?

1:00 how did you get that rod to come loose from the lock?

I'm doing this job now. It is almost impossible to release the lower end of the lock rod from the orange clip on the lock's arm. They are old and brittle, just like the cable ends, and there is no room to reach in and squeeze the barbs of the clip in so you can release the lock rod. I just pushed the rod hard enough until it broke the clip, and then the rod was free. Then buy a replacement lock arm and clip assembly from NAPA using part number 735-5971 and install it on your original lock. This is simple to install and by keeping the old lock, you can use the original key in it.

How did you get the panel off?????? You left off some important steps.

Different models have different panels. My 1999 Chateau Wagon has swing open windows in the 2 hinged side doors. On that one, first you disconnect the 3 screws on the catch that allows the bottom of the glass to swing out. Then I removed the upper plastic panel by carefully prying it straight out. Start with a thin screwdriver or narrow putty knife. You'll hear it squeaking and complaining. Work all the way around both right and left sides in small increments until it comes loose. For the lower panel on mine, all I had to do was unscrew the 2 screws under the little caps on the grab handle. Then the lower panel will lift up and out.
