Soap & Clay is a family owned business operating in Washington State, but started out online thanks to Mrs. Soap & Clay's kickass brother and his amazing web design skills. The business was started as a tribute to Mrs. Soap & Clay's grandmother, the OG maker in the family that cultivated everyone's love for the DIY life. The studio/retail shop opened in 2017 on 6th Ave in Tacoma, and immediately began teaching soap, bath bomb, lotion, and scrub classes to the makers and maker enthusiasts of the PNW. In 2019, the pottery studio opened as well, making the soap shop a busy place full of artistic energy every minute of the day.
Mrs. Soap & Clay has been featured on Business Spotlight, New Day Northwest, and was awarded a coveted place on the South Sound's 40 under 40 list in 2019, an award given to the most influential business people under the age of 40 each year. She cried when she walked up to the podium to accept the award. A lot.
Drawing from her chemistry background and her maker spirit, Mrs. Soap & Clay infuses her favorite things into her soapy designs and creates products that are fun to see, use, and learn to make. Stick around for this ride - she'll take you on a great one.

Thank you. I took your inspiring video and made a beautiful soap with my soapy shreds. It turned out so elegant. I would love to show you what I made one day. ❤️🦋
That’s awesome! If you have insta, tag me in a pic! I would love to see your soapy art. ❤️
@@MrsSoapAndClay I uploaded it in Instagram and tagged you. ❤️🦋
I have so many soap experiments that trying to come up with more confetti soap iterations was getting a bit much - this opens up so many possibilities 🤩
🤞🏽🤞🏽 for you and the kidlet
Yes you can hun ,make your bread dough as normal. Find a suitable sized tin full of veg ,beans anything coz you just gonna pour it out. Double line it and bake it for your normal time.x
Beautiful soaps and very helpful tip on using up soap scraps.
I love this idea! I have so many pieces left from beveling the soap that I hate to waste! I am so excited to try this! Hope Santa came through for you (and the kidlet!)!
Luckily, the kid got her canned bread. 😂
that looks really pretty that way, thinking i like that more than melt n pour 😍
Those are so dang cute!
The curls look so pretty!
These are too cute!! I never would have thought to use soap dough lol. Love this! 😍
Way easier than m&p!
They’re super cool
Go to Walmart, buy some of those pillsbury canned biscuits and croissants. Tell her you didn't know which kind of canned bread she wanted so you got her both kinds.
You know, I would love a gift of both biscuits AND croissants. I think you’re on to something…😆
Walmart has on their site to order the B & M canned brown bread. 3 day delivery…my mom would serve B&M baked beans with it years ago!
B & M bread in a can. Maybe Amazon. My mom used to love it 😊
I’ve been thinking 🤔 what do you think about using food dehydrator for sucking the moisture out of soap to speed up curing time ?
I do that, it works. Don’t talk about it because in the last decade or so soapmakers have decided to gatekeep an industry they just jumped into and have made up soap chemistry to fit their needs along the way. So it’s best if I just put my head down and do my work. 😂
So would a dehydrator work for bath bombs?
I honestly wouldn’t risk it with bath bombs. Having tested it, the dehumidifying process is too fast for bombs and will result in crumbly bombs more often than not.
@@MrsSoapAndClay ah OK. Georgia is hell on bath bomb making so I'm trying everything that could possibly work. Scratching that off my mental list. Thank you!
My kid asked about this and I need to do it, but we are in the middle of dehydrating the peppers from our garden.... so I don't think I can add in soap.... LOL
I tried to use melt and pour mine kept breaking so I gave up but yes soap dough would be so much better so cute
Right! Way easier!
Mr soap and clay needs to make you a super big board scraper looking cutter
Considering this GIANT soap I just made for the next Project Soapway challenge that I can’t figure out how to cut, you are absolutely right! 😂
Walmart sells it. Ok I lied slightly, it seems only available in California now, used to be on the shelf here, I’ll email you a link sometime soon, but I’ll be busy until around 4am eastern time
So this is a SPECIFIC type of canned bread she wants. It’s a pack of flavored canned bread. I don’t think a can of the brown bread from the grocery will cut it, though I have one just in case. 😂
@@MrsSoapAndClay oh ok I was going to say that it’s not the same thing, but similar 😂 I’ve always wanted to try it but I’m like 🧐
😂🤣 canned bread? That's a unique request!
Isn’t it just? This kid is quite the character. 😂
Did you check ebay it's so close to Christmas now they will be late but some say they can be delivered before the 1st of Jan cute little panda canned bread
That’s where I ordered! Was supposed to arrive before Xmas and has yet to arrive. 😂
I use food processor sometimes sometimes
Canning bread can be pretty easy, actually. Look it up. Probably less time than hunting down an uncommon commodity from Japan.
Have you checked out Cost Plus World Market, sometimes they have unusual food items. I hope that helps.
Good idea! I’ve checked almost everywhere but that’s one I haven’t stopped by. 💕
I love my salty hippie flower girl soap😅 with cuts of old fragrant soaps that were not beautiful
You need a warning on this one. When you flashed the canned bread, I had a mouthful of cereal and choked 😂😂😂. Canned bread?! Bless her... what about a cake with an edible wrap to look like the label? If you don't have time, perhaps you can find a baker. You can bake a sheet cake, use a 2-3" cutter, stack them up with buttercream and wrap in "label". Hey - what's one more thing?? Be well
Ha! Sorry about that. Also, what a great idea! Thank you!!!
Seriously, LaurenZSide - I blame you. 😅❤
Lol 🤣😂
There are people (canners), that make canned bread. I haven’t tried it, but I’ve seen it on RUclips. 😊
Omg thank you! If Santa doesn’t deliver, I’m going to have to learn a new skill real quick. 😂
Why is she the way that she is? 🤪
@@MrsSoapAndClay Lol I love it! Never knew there was such a thing as canned bread 😂
I WANT ME SOME CANNED BREAD
Yeah! Me! Food processor
Bread
I’ve got a loaf of nine grain down here - come eat some!
I struggle with bread in general for baking but you can actually DIY and I’ll use cake as an example. Instead of making a cake, you make cupcakes. Instead of using tins, you use little mason jars like for jam. As soon as those babies come of the oven, lid and screw top them. As they cool a vacuum is created. Storage life unknown to me but I’ve done this as part of hurricane prep for “comfort” food just in case. Just food for thought (pun not intended) but IF you make bread like, ever, I’m sure someone out there on the inter webs has a blog or something on it.
Hey! What a fun idea!
