    I fell in love with UX writing recently however my biggest hurdle was being a non native speaker... This video gave me a courage to overcome the hurdle. Can't wait to call myself a UX Writer in near future :) Thank you!

    Could you maybe show the insides of the process? How you communicate with a designer and how you work together

    I think that you don't need to be a native speaker, but also you really need to immerse yourself in the English language and basically organize your life around using English extensively in your everyday life. You also need a certain degree of natural talent for languages and a genuine interest in writing - but you need those to be a UX writer (or any kind of writer) anyway.

    Great video as always!
    Question: There are a lot of content online about the differences between a copywriter and a ux writer, but what are some commonalities? I think that’d be interesting for people looking to jump between the two fields. I’m currently a ux writer at TikTok, but there aren’t a lot of jobs for ux writers where I am as it’s a relatively new field and I’m thinking of going into copywriting. But how can I transfer my skills as a ux writer into copywriting?

      Interesting idea! Where are you located btw?

      @@UXHeWrote i’m currently located in shanghai, but i don’t think i can stay here long term and i’d like to go back to my home country in malaysia in maybe a couple years. not a lot of ux writing positions there so i’d likely have to transition into another role.

      @@rysbow Yeah I'm in China too. I thought when you said TikTok it might be China. It's still a very new field here. Slightly more positions down in HK. But I can imagine there's not much in Malaysia either...

      @@UXHeWrote Oh what a coincidence! Are you based in HK? Let me maybe buy you a coffee through your link and we can better connect in the upcoming week, if you’re interested. But yeah, not many openings in Malaysia atm. I was looking into my career progression the last couple of days and if I want to stick to the ux/ui industry, I think I’ll have to move into design as well. But hopefully, ux writing continues to grow in the next few years and there’ll be more opportunities.

      @@rysbow No need to buy me a coffee. It's nice to just meet another UX writer out here. You can add me on LinkedIn: Andy Carney
      I'm in Shenzhen at the moment. But I was in Shanghai for a long time.

    I am happy that I came across your videos. They are very helpful. I have a couple questions. I got an UX Design Certificate so is it necessary to get a Certificate for UX Writer?

    • @UXHeWrote
      @UXHeWrote  Год назад +1

      If you watch my video on how to get into UX writing, I talk about courses and certificates. I don't think it's necessary, no, but a good course can give you a solid foundation. You can of course self study. But if you're going to be applying for UX writing jobs, your portfolio will need to focus on writing not designing.

      @@UXHeWroteThank you so much. I just got done watching that video after my comment. I am considering enrolling in the IDF course but when I went to the website, I did not see anything for UX writers. It’s seems to be all about the designs. I will continue to check it out and watch your other videos too. Thanks again. 🙂

      @@ebonyh9889 IDF is only for design. I recommend writers take some design course as well so that's why I talk about IDF.

    hi, your videos are so usefull! Can I see something of your portfolio to know how it looks a good one? Also at your web , the lin to linkedin shows 404 error.

      I get a lot of people requesting portfolio videos so I guess I will have to see what I can do. There are some general guidelines, but I find it's always best to get a portfolio review/critique, because everyone's portfolio is unique.
      Where did you find my linkedin link that doesn't work?
