Really helpful, Boone! I appreciate the gentle & clear way you teach! (Also, after seeing you do an intro shots with your baby child, I now can't help but imagine you doing these tutorials with one hand, baby in the other :)
Really good tutorial, thanks. I have been playing around for a few hours trying to zoom into a given place and didn't realise the basic options were right there! Adding the place names makes the map pop. Thanks again.
The ambient is lighting the text. Not sure what problems the 90% Opacity would cause. FYI the map image sequence is a 2D layer, so it's not being changed by the 3D lights. 😎
Hi, Great videos, followed these steps but no idea what i did but no .jsx file is created in the destination folder after render? any suggestions as to what i may have missed? many thanks in advance
hi, first of all thanks for sharing very useful content....despite following everything, the spot light didnt' work at all!....not sure what went wrong...I tried changing all xyz directions, chose different light color to detect the spot-on which is otherwise could be tough in just white...still of now use!....any tips on to test what went wrong with spot light?...
Great tutorial, thanks so much. Your tutorials are very informative and easy to follow. I've used Earth Studio for some basic zooms/fly-to's in the past but really haven't scratched the surface of its capabilities with After Effects and Blender. So looking forward to be able to do some long-planned, Covid-delayed overseas travel (maybe 2023? 😷) and use these great ideas to produce good-looking "pro-style" videos.
Hi @Boone, I would to ask, how can i add a photo to a track point. Using your Mont Blanc example, how can i add a photo that i took on a trip to mont blac above or below the name mont blanc that moves and is orintated the same way was the name?
is there a way to set format on google earth studio to 1080x1920, not render but moreover the creator stage - so I can see before render (size is for youtube shorts)
I'm struggling to make this work. In After Effects my all my tracking points move crazily! I think it is because the project has multiple tracking points. Do you have some advise to fix it? Hugs from Brazil!
@BooneLovesVideo Love this tutorial and topic, but in my result the text is rotating but not in sync with the earth? I exported with Local Axis and only did some scaling and rotating of the text, I didn't touch the position of the text. I can't figure out what I did wrong, can you help me out here?
Great tutorial ! I have a question : is there a way to ensure that the title keeps facing the screen (instead of being attached" to the Mont BLanc and turning with it) ? I tried the auto orientation feature of After effects, but get a very strange issue, titles don't follow the camera. Thanks.
I love your stuff! I’m getting good at Google Earth key framing and really sophisticated KML aspects. Also I’m learning blender, but keep seeing the same compositing outcomes like this with Adobe AE. Is one better than the other?, do I need to learn both? Thoughts? Only care about map animation. :)
Thanks! Excellent questions. I'm actually in the same boat. I'm currently learning Blender as it's a proper 3D program. After Effects is more about 2D planes. So it's really apples and oranges. However, as far as I know there isn't anything like GEOlayers for Blender. You do have Blender GIS, but GEOlayers is just so advanced with it's features. Also, you should definitely check out this guy's YT channel. He's doing all kinds of cool stuff. ruclips.net/video/J21nqXtFWKw/видео.html
@@BooneLovesVideo Thanks for the quick and great reply! We're on the same journey there, except i started with you, then went to Imagiscope Tech and now i've gone to create my first donut in blender with Blender Guru! Seems like creating a donut is the 'hello world' initiation with the program.. and i'm learning loads quick. That said, i checked the skillshare lesson you suggested and may now shift over to SouthernShotty3D as he's pretty content dense and fast pace! This is really a wonderful time to be alive for map animation :0) Thanks for kicking it all off with your Earth Studio Tutorial!
Hi Boone, I love your tutorials. You are fast becoming my go to guy for your map animations. You've helped me a lot. Thank you! Is there a way of using trim paths in an animated map easily or is that going to be a keyframe nightmare?
The issue I have with this ever time is I can't get the text to stand up with XYZ just pivots in different positions from one end NEVER in the middle please help
Hi, Boone, I am wondering why I don't have the selection of Classic 3D or Cinema 4D in my AfterEffects 2020, anything going wrong? Need your help, thanks!
I want to add country borders to my animations and everything i find seems to say just import a kml, but doesn't explain where i'm supposed to get it. Am I missing something here?
Is it supposed to take FOREVER to generate the .zip file? Rendering from Google Earth Studio took maybe 10 minutes for 15 second animation, but it is taking FOREVER to put each jpeg in the .zip file. ????????????????????
I was using Brave Browser. I switched to Chrome and didn't even do the ZIP process. I was able to just select where I wanted the rendered files to go. Woot!
Anyone having problems when they switch to Classic 4D? An error pops out saying my version of AE requires an installation of Cinema 4D r24. Any tips about this? Thank you
@@BooneLovesVideo Hmm i just wanna have the same extrusion effect on my text. But i can seem to change my renderer to 4D. I watched your other tutorials. Should I just turn on the 3D on my text then change it to classic 4D.

Happy that you found me too! Thanks for the nice comment.
Cool stuff, thank you for the tutorial. Do you know if there is a way to remove, move, or scale down the watermark from google earth?
AWESOME! Thanks! Can't wait to try this out.
Thanks, Dad. Let me know how it goes with the keyframing.
@@BooneLovesVideoThe what????
Interesting.
I don't usually work in AE but I use Davinci resolve
When rendering, where is it saved to?
Thanks for a grate video. I have one question! When you go from the firs setup, you say you hit the check mark button. Where do I find this ?
Thanks! What's the timestamp?
Thank you so much! Beautifully explained!
I loved the part about shift pick the light to the text to zero the position values. Thank you!

Hi. What does ambient light gives in this case? Also making MAP 90% transparent does not create any issues?

@@BooneLovesVideo well I just thought you can see through the video layer if it's transparent.
@@evolnull125 Indeed you can, but I don't have any other layers underneath. So it just darkens it.

Great video, thanks for making this! I mostly watched the first half since I use Filmora.
Let's say we take a walk and record the GPS coordinates. Does this allow us to combine the GPS data with this animation to show our location?

Might be a frame rate issue. Sometimes you have to manually adjust the frame rate of the clip.
Awesome Bro.....
I have tried to follow you along. when i script from earth studio to After Effect, Video is blur and can not see anything. Is there any advice.
Ive been using google earth studio for weeks now and I just realised you can change the timeline length to time instead of frames😂
