Castle trancealot- 35 minutes. Goosebumps…
It feels like the whole set was programmed around this track
The soundtrack of my 20! People talk about music from the 60s ...but the 90s, my oh my... 🥳
The best decade…
I thought I liked house and dance till I got this album. Literally the greatest album I've ever bought. I went back and bought the original renaissance and it's just as good. They are playing in Camden in October and I'm going....46 years old and I'm gonna dance my ass off
Thats what we all aim to do, til we get there, and its rammed with the camera phone crew. you know the ones that try and film the whole experience, and barely move. So you sit down next to the nearest base bin, blaze up a fat one and just let the music take you off. mmmm
@@judge-dredful ah man. I agree completely. It's such a shame that this generation doesn't understand living in the moment.
I was at the release party for this. Allerton. Castle October 1995. Digweed played the opening night of Tall Trees,Yarm live essential mix before popping down to Renaissance at Allerton Castle for the launch. Played totally different set from Tall Trees. definitely best live set I'd heard him play. Renaissance put on an incredible night. Heather Small handing Champagne to the 1st clubbers in.i was 2nd through the door. Full Renaissance decor.incredible DJs, strong old school pills, Digweed playing tunes from mix CD&2nd essential mix.(Spirits Bring me down.chris& James mix blew my mind!!) Awesome album, incredible night. Only Cream 1st Grand Finale night had better DJs.
Renaissance was definitely better, cleaner, classier,......😄
I remember that I was meant to go with a cpl mates but ended up staying in Leeds going to Hardtimes at the music factory and having a really shit nite .
But did you have a good night 😂😂
Talks trees yarm now that brings back memories 🤸
you all probably dont give a damn but does someone know a tool to get back into an Instagram account?
I somehow lost the login password. I would love any assistance you can offer me.
@Bradley Nelson Instablaster :)
Sasha & Diggers back in the day were untouchable, years ahead of other DJ's.
They still are
Sasha ruined Digweed into mixing endless minimal shite. Should have stayed true to the 90s with this which is one of my favourite commercial mix's and when Atlas kicks in at 1:06 it's a masterpiece. Where are the 2 & 3 though
AT 1:11 is the 90's dance era I loved so much summed in one great moment
I fucked that all up. 1:06:47 and 1:10:53. Fuckwit
@@Ltnblue I agree, Sasha went over to the US and got all boring. I think this collection is just John Digweed.
Bought it in 95 still got it, scratched to hell! Absolute timeless!
I remember coming across R1 in 2004 as a high school kid, and had no idea that it was a anniversary release of the original press. I was completely under the impression that sasha and digweed were just bringing up old classics for some fun but little did I realise it was simply a timeless piece of art that transcended the test of time. shit is sick
Mid 90s house music is one of the best sounds ever
Still got my copy with the ‘Our Price’ store label on the front. £15.99. One of the best CD compilations I’ve ever bought
Fckn right!
Many languages, Many races, But One People...I love that, it's so simple and yet so profound.
Imagine being there when this first hit rhe dancefloors....
Nostalgia
truth
OMG the memories... Renaissance Volumes 1 and 2 were shere music perfection (my personal favourite being Volume 2, CD2)!!! My love for dance music began with these CDs (Sasha and John Digweed), and the addiction continues to this day. They are true gods and pioneers of the genre. RESPECT!
Same here Tanya and yes They are Gods, actually we all are.
Amen to that sisters 😀❤️
This is just gorgeous. Indoctrinate @ 35:47 is one of the best tracks I've ever laid ears on. This was the golden era of Trance, 1991 to 97. Some of the most inspiring music ever. Edit: I See Only You -> Bullet -> Indoctrinate goes down as one of the best sequences in the annals of my mind.
In My mind to Carl. Experienced magical 😇Times back in the '90s
For Me Progressive Trance Rocks Forever 😎 on my Wheels of Steal sl1200 Technics. By the way, i would mix four Seasons Blue Amazon after indoctrinate,..but that's not relevant because my odyssey is Magic to
Don't know why i'm telling You this😂
BA-ngin! 🤩
I sold so many beans when this song was playing ❤️❤️
🤪😂👍🏻
Mint😂
calling your name: superb! peace
most pumpingest most epic-est mix eva!! Listened the hell out o this in the '90s/ God I'm old.
Q
Podfunk, yup me to🤣
LOL.....Old ????
As truly outstanding since I first listened to it in 1995 !!!!....Prayer
to the Music - Marco Polo followed @1h00.35 by Ghandi's voice to the
end: Sacred Circles and Compass Error: UNSTOPPABLE and COMPULSIVE listening !!!
I dare you !!
From 32:33 onwards to the very end... Just try ending the track early or switching off. I just can't. I've taken this CD to countless hi-fi shows and stunned all ages with this track.
Imagine.. People who love Beethoven tapping their feet to... Sacred Cycles.
Epic mix...epic tracks... Epic time to live.
Epic in Any way. Created straight from the Soul,.. that's why you can't switch off. Pure Magic end yes the 90's were epic 😎
❣️&✌️From IAMsterdam 😎 🙏 👐😇👐
‘Hi-Fi shows’
Never heard of them, but I like the sound of them
I’ll just get my coat and see myself out 🍻
Sasha & Digweed, owned house music, since it started. and always kept it totally pure
Geoff Oakes, gave me this CD free as I worked at the bank he visited in the early 90's, just wow! Disk 2 is by far and away the best of the 3 in the set. Memories of happier times......
I feel privileged to listen to this. It's timeless. I got to enjoy it at Uni when I bought the CD set in '96. It is simply of its age and little since has eclipsed it.
Magical.
Best dj mix album there will ever be the mix from bullet to indoctrinate still makes the hairs on my body stand on end and face tingle thats how mixing is done
+LICKSTERxx These 3 discs are a close second to the original Renaissance. Renaissance 3 was mixed by Father of Sound and it was horrendous. 3 CDs of boring, cheesy repetitive house, nothing like the first 2. I took it back the next day and swapped it for Cream Live 2. Was worth it just for the Paul Oakenfold disc.
36 mins in. still my GOAT favs
When DJ,s had intro building tracks and crafted a set with atmosphere. Nowadays D's dont have the time for an intro track cuz theyre on 1 hour slots at a gig with 45 other djs playing the same stuff.
We were the ERA of this music
Absolutely brilliant this music never ever gets old.
First time i heard calling your name, what a track 😍
It’s a beautiful track for sure 🤜🤛
I used to play this every fri and sat night when i was taxi driving about 15yr ago. never had one complaint even from the drunks, just turn it up driver and what the fuck is this? and how can they get a copy? a lot of the time people didnt wanna leave my cab and rightly so. Long live Sasha and Diggers. Saviours of my youth. Eternal thanks.💙❤👌
I couldn't count the number of times I had to collect this cd from somebody's house the following wednesday..
@_inalbion
One of the few CDs I listened to constantly, this is a pure golden classic. Thank God for you tube.
Cannot be surpassed , even in 2024 .
A handful of like minded thumping bass enthusiasts at one of the turn ours along Sunset Cliffs Boulevard, in San Diego Ca. At dawn because the event for that night was never enough! Roaring sea crashing against the cliffs! Boom boom boom! Dope vibes.
90's & early 00's Progressive Trance Rocks Forever & ever 🎶 and when mixed by Masters 😇 IT becomes a Soulshow 👐👌👐
This is my favorite CD from this Volume...and perhaps even from Volume I. Thanks!
THE best DJ's to grace the earth... Put them together and Holy Shit... No one comes near :) Miss these days...
Still keeps my boat rocking ❤
Dear Lord. The intro to this is orgasmic.
At work trying to write a paper... My day is *so* much better for stumbling on this mix! What an absolute gem!
Petar Lazonby his music there is a intellictual music!
Wordd can"t describe how good renaissance was at venue 44 back in the day.
This is Biblical TImes... just the first song makes you feel like you are a Warrior In A Dark Period... I LOVE IT!
The summary of an era!
This set is truly ridiculously too perfect, how did anyone master such a set back then, they are gods or aliens. No wonder my original CD is in fking tatters.
So sik! A Masterpiece fasho! Yeeeeeeeeew!!!!! In any language, any race, one people!
great upload. a timeless mix that will never sound old
Anyone else witness John Digweed play a set at the Cross, Kings X, soon after this was released circa 1995. IT WENT OFF! Good times.
Was living in London then. Probably got knocked back from the Cross and ended up in Bagleys. Best time of my life.
One of awesome favourites of all time great for aerobics and fitness training gets you in the mood and super uplifter
I no them 2 dj's were top of there game well before sum of the others haha, its a fact ,mint they are
outstanding
love these albums, thanks for uploading
That's some classic stuff !
Military standard! Respect 🫡
Timeless-as good now as back in 95/6 when it came out
First proper mix compilation that I had & it was actually on cassette rather than the cd some amazing tunes on this still sounds fresh ! 🎵👌🏻🎶
Blue Amazon
I bought it in Paris in 98 . 🎉😮
I still have this disc set in my collection...😎
Absolute belter of a mix. Up there in my top 10 of all time. Love it !
O man these were good ecstasy times..
When House Music, was made to put a 😀 on ur face and not just motivated to make £££
You're joking, right??? This period is when it became all about the money - Superclubs, mix CD's, sponsors and obscene booking fees for 'Superstar' DJ's.
BOUT! BOUT!
B. D. D. LAMONTE!!
time well spent 💃🙏1:07:40
Music says it all 😅😅😅
Classic
The r/OldElectronicMusic subreddit brought me here!
The first two Northern Exposure collections by Sasha & Digweed are worth a listen if you like this, but this disc is still my favourite. I've failed to find anything quite like it. Any suggestions?
Digweed's 1st essential mix is definitely better. Chanelle rock your body, rockhopper 94, a mix of Sasha's Magic unavailable anywhere else (my favourite tune ever) Yello Visious Games, Sultana Te amo(digweed's dub) Chase love for.the.future etc. 2 hours of best mixing and tunes ever. I need a copy of Sasha's Magic he played. Anybody with a copy (not ripped off essential mix) or know which remix it is.please get in touch. Been hunting since march 1994 for it.cheers.
Dave Seaman essential mix 1996, a thing of beauty
Northern exposure 2 is slightly better
That is disc 2 from the original release
@@nikmaving3384 I will sell you a promo, un played, 200 quid do
Good mix
Didn't Jeremy Healy do renaissance to? Can't seem to find any mention of him ....this is classic last heard this 96 97 time Wow over 20 years ago 😬 ....scary how quick it's gone ..Great music great clubs great drugs soon there will no one left that remembers it 🙁
He played there quite a lot in the early too mid 90's if that's what you mean? He was a big name at that time.
How's that opening synth. Great stuff, still one of my favourite compilations.
💀👻👽☠💙👌👀💃🕺🦄🐬🐠🌍⛲⚡🌈🌀☄🔮🥊the bollox as we would say.
14:09 hair RAISING moment when i hear this again, "that's a song that I heard a long long time ago".
Immortals
Good Times
Perfect isn't it
Pyramids as far as the eyes can see ;)
Kicks in at 55.00
What is the track starting at about 59:58? It DEFINITELY samples a vintage Genesis track from about 1971 - The Fountains of Salmacis
Sacred Cycles - Pete Lazonby
My lovest track
How do you that ?😮
Track 8 is Franco & Grimm not Future Funk.
Callllllllling your naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaameeee lol Also, that Four Seasons track is just terrible.
