Is there a reason you've pared back the VRAM OC from 900 to 850 recently? Early tests were 700/900, and that target is commonly cited for 25XX models. Is 700/850 better for longevity with similar enough performance in your eyes?
Both RIP-Felix's experiments and mine highlighted noticeable diminishing returns starting around 700MHz core and 800MHz VRAM. Yeah, in fact, I could even lower the VRAM to 800MHz without significant performance loss. Great numbers are appealing and it's always fun to test the limits of your hardware (at least, for me), but further frequencies increases aren't worth it. @@Gabut_12 You're talking about a Slim ? Which model exactly ? If you're careful and don't install random frequencies, a sudden brick is impossible just by overclocking. Hi, do you think that higher temperatures are what it's leading to artifacting on my PS3 Slim CECH-2001B? It's overheating up to 70 degrees even on stock values, just via using XMB, and it goes to 70/72 at 650/875, meanwhile weird artifacting and glitchy lights appears on the screen. @@nunosa528 I've tried using 650/800, but it has the same glitchy issues aswell. I'm pretty sure that's happening due to being really dirty, even the Blu-Ray drive looks brown from the outside, and as i said, the stock settings are still overheating a lot than usual.
