I also find that lying on the floor near them is helpful too, they can be very curious and will come over to see what's going on. I think that it's easier to trust is when we're at their level and literally face to face with them. One of my rabbits used to climb on my back, run up my back and lick my head! Later he started to jump on the couch, climb up the back of it and jump on to my shoulder and perch there! 😁
Thank you for these tips I have had my bunny Twix for a few years and he was always scared of me and he would run away from me and go under my bed and a few weeks after watching this video, he trust me more. Thank you for the information.😊
Hi Amy, I recently started working at an animal rescue (that also has rabbits!). I'm super happy to say that I've helped one pair of young bunnies become less timid and more friendly using some of your tips :)
@thebunnylady This was a really helpful video! Can you make a video or respond to my comment with advice on how to teach a bunny the concept of “No/Stop”? My bunny insists on yanking on the baby gate when I need to keep her out of the bedroom and she pees on the couch sometimes despite being spayed early. I have a waterproof cover on the couch but want to be able to trust her and also need her to understand no or stop in general despite the house being bunny proofed for her safety. The only thing that works slightly is hitting the ground while I say no but I’m not sure if I’m just wasting my time with that. This is really important to me. Thank you in advance
Hey Amy, I have two bonded bunnies that only come up to me when I have food. Occasionally, they do come to bump and lick me but I cannot pet them at all (unless they're eating). I wonder if it's because they're still young (6-7 months old). If I try to pet them when they approach me, they will just run away or face a different direction.
I have a question. I put several apple slices out across the way from my door in grass under a bush. Later in the day, from the window, I could see all the pieces had been eaten. When I opened my door, I found one last slice on my step with a tiny part of it eaten? Is that a 'thank you? ' of a gift like a cat brings dead mice?
Hi! Any tips on how to cut the nails of a rabbit who you can’t lift and that almost everytime runs away when you touch it? 🙃 if I do a burrito I won’t have access to the paws.
I watched a few of your videos and they are great! We unfortunately got wrong advice when we got our bunny back in the spring. I’m Wondering if you could give some advice? I have a male rabbit who is not fixed yet and has been acting aggressively towards us, and he has always been very scared of us. He stays in a two level rabbit hutch on the covered porch outside- I don’t feel comfortable letting him roam in the house but would like it if he could roam in some sort of play pen area. If I were to do this I would have to pick him up every day so would that be picking him up too much?
Yeah i stopped holding once i spotted the bunnies were not enjoying it, as for the chasing thing i actually never used to play with bunnies by chasing because of them being prey pets, but i was curious why bunnies would come to me then run away when i Gave them attention and then come back...turns out its because they might enjoy a little chasing if he trusts you enough! Mine would come to me then run away and stop midway to check if i was behind him, if not he would come back, its not everytime they are willing to play like this and i think you have to do it in a playfull and calm manner because it seems they are sensitive to the tone of your voice and gestures
Mine liked to be touched at the chin. He would put his Head in my hand wanting to be petted at the chin. But i was not allowed to touch his feet. After cutting his nails he would turn his back towards me for an hour or two. 🤷🏻♂️

I need some help. I have a few bunnies that were happy happy and now all of the sudden two of my females have become aggressive and quickly. They snort and lunge at me, growl and even attack me now. I was able to hand feed these buns as well as scratch cheeks and stroke their backs, one even rubbed her chin all over my hand which I thought was her marking her scent on me. The very next day I went to feed my babes and she screamed when I stroked her back, spun around and tried to bite me. Thankfully I was faster than she was. I have no idea what had happened that these two are so angry but now they are stomping at me, growling, even hissing. If I come near them they start crying, and whimpering, if I touch them they scream. This has been the last three days now, starting with one sister then the other. I got 4 creams brothers and sisters 2 each from a woman who had to sell her animals because she couldn’t afford to keep them anymore… please help me to understand why my buns are now screaming and whimpering at the site of me and I’ve had them for almost 2 months now…
