Thank you for your instructions on changing the saw chain. Awesome of you.

You have to turn the adjustment screw to the left to put the new chain on and then turn the screw to the right to snug the chain with a little bit of play in it. The old chain stretches over time. I use the prferd hand chain sharpener, that is a little cheaper than the Stihl brand. It works great for a quick sharp blade. I found it on Amazon. Good video sir!

I have never changed a pole saw chain. I couldn't figure out why the chain was too short and saw you turn the thing that makes the bar shorter. You may should say that when you did it. Women sometimes have a bigger learning curve. But I did it!

Thanks I just purchased a Stihl h31 polesaw. After cutting about 30 mins the chain came off. I was able to get it back on and will cut tomorrow. I noticed how you checked the tension. I think mine is okay now. i THINK WITH A NEW CHAIN IT SHOULD BE VERY TIGHT.

How often should you replace the chain?

Hey, Depends. Do you sharpen your chain. If so you for sure can extend the life. For me I'm just OK with sharpening mine so I replace mine every year. The one for mine is less than $20 bucks and wow does a new chain cut good. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching !!!!!!

    What size chain is that?

Doesn't mention anything about the tension on the chain. The video is so far away you can't tell what he means about the direction the teeth should be facing. If you have never dealt with changing a pole saw this video is worthless.

I am sorry you feel this way. That video is from a year ago. That was the 3 video I had ever made. I was brand new to the RUclips family. I was learning how to record, learning a new camera, how to edit, and how to upload to RUclips. Back then I was tickled to death to just get all that to come together and make it to a working video on RUclips. I hope if you look at some of my more current stuff you will see some improvement. Either way thanks for your comments and thanks for checking out my channel !!!!!!

Hey Thanks for your input. I'm new to RUclips and that was one of my first videos. I'm working to get better.
