This band is a great club band. I saw them twice in SC back in 1990 and they rocked the house down. DZ was great in person and no video does them justice. One thing is for sure, they knew all of the licks and played them extremely well. You would be laughing and rockin' at the same time. I've never seen another band like them since.
@TYSONHAWKE Dread Zeppelin was one of those bands that you had heard about but had no idea of where to see them. These guys were beyond genius. Thumbs up from me.
I keep asking myself "Is this real, or am I just imagining this." I can't believe music this good actually exists. This song makes me want to be a better man.
The best Led Zeppelin cover EVER! A true classic. So much going on here you have to watch each member closely with each replay. Great beat, humour, mood and atmosphere and subculture. Awesome. Long live The Dread!
They played a club on the south side of the University of Arizona campus on a regular basis starting in the late 80's. Saw them go from having a small crowds to very large crowds as the CDs took off. It was a always GREAT show - extremely talented musicians, great music and fun! Everybody had a good time at a Dread Zeppelin concert.
Blending Elvis with Led Zeppelin, what's not to love? Great comedy and cool imaginative versions of good songs. LOVE this band. We need this kind of humor now and then in this tragic world.
I saw these guys a couple of times in the 90's. they actually put on a great show. They don't take themselves seriously but they are hugely entertaining!!!!
I listened to your first album (on cassette man) over and over and then a little more over than even that! Me and my best buddy ( in the car) drove all over the place listening and smoking it all up! Some of our fondest memories.
How can anyone in thier right or unright mind not love this band ? Elvis and zeppelin together come on that is pure genius and tortelvis can sing his ass off man !!!
Robert Plant once asked Col Tom Parker if he would consider using LZ as Elvis' backing group, but the Colonel dismissed the idea immediately. What a shame, as LZ were massive Elvis fans.
I saw these guys at the Empire Ballroom in Cleveland in 1990. By far the best "show" I've ever seen. These guys were one of the most inventive novelty acts around, knew it, played right into it instead of acting serious, the musicianship was incredible, and just the fun they had doing what they did made it a great show. I also remember reading somewhere that Robert Plant and Jimmy Page loved these guys, said most of Led's music was based on reggae anyway. I've been to a million concerts and I'll never forget this one. Thanks Dread Zeppelin!
Saw them in a small venue in Portland OR in the 90s. After the set the band came into the bar for drinks and hung out with us. "Tortelvis has left the building" was announced. Hilliarious.
"let's get that reggae feel that I like ". I died. Check this out : ruclips.net/video/hLNjVvJAiCw/видео.html Not one-to-one, since it mashup, but hilarious none the less.
@@schnooleheletteletto 🤣 so MISS that period of ..well, a friend called ‘em Cali Goof Bands (group of Very good musicians who ..well, worked out a freaky gimmick & some got crazy popular.) this band Really kicked everyone’s ass in that regard.
Dread and Southern Culture on the Skids are your absofrigginlutely best bet for live music. I saw DZ when they toured with Mojo Nixon; good God that was great.
I saw this band in Columbia, MO over 10 years ago @ the Blue Note... hilarious man! One of the band does nothing but attend to Tort Elvis with towels. These guys are top notch musicians... see their show, you won't regret it (do they still play?)
I saw these back at UW-Milwaukee back in like 1988 or something. It was a blast. Interviewed the band for the college newspaper and had a few drink with them. It must be 20 years since I heard any of their music.
When i heard these guys in early 90s thought they were absolutely bizarre 2024 still think they are bizarre, bizarrely hysterical off the chains go DREAD ZEPPELIN!!!!
Damn Straight! Tell It, Brutha !!! Un-Bridled Greatness. Next Stop, the Land of Ice and Smoke, via The OC, Tupelo and Kingston!!! Oh yeah, the UK, too. Led put out an Open Invitation!!!

Anyone remember when these guys got booed of the stage and were pelted with fruit at reggae on the rocks at the red rocks amphitheater in Colorado?? Just wondering my parents were there I sadly was not.
I've always wondered, do these folks just walk around with fruit in their pants expecting something to take a turn? Was there a guy sitting next to me at the Norah Jones concert last year with a sack full of apples just waiting for her to screw up the lyrics to "Don't Know Why" so he could pelt her in the head? Or maybe they were walking home from the grocery store, saw a marquee and stopped in to inquire about last minute tickets? I've also wondered what they do with the fruit if things go well. Are there trashcans full of bananas at the end of Red Hot Chili concerts that didn't go poorly? Could we somehow feed hungry people by putting out bins at concerts? And then there are those that throw rotten cabbages. Seriously, what's the proper receptacle for carrying a rotten cabbage into a concert hall? Where did they get a rotten cabbage? Are they trolling the dumpsters at Kroger? And can you imagine how conflicted you would feel if you showed up to a concert with rotten cabbages and Hannah Montana hit every note perfectly? I can just see someone doing the Charlie Brown walk out of the Staples Center with a rotten cabbage in each hand.
Robert Plant has said in interviews that he absolutely loves this band.
And then he woke up ! ;)
Yes and the favorite band of Jimmy Page is Kaleidoscope in the 60's.....
Who dosnt
Who?
Robert plant can't even save this.
Saw them at the Ranch Bowl in Omaha, Nebraska (since torn down for a Mid-town Walmart) and they were great!! Early '90's.

Yeah a cover band of a cover band lol
There is also their Reggae Rastafarian element.
If you listen to Plant, he sounds like Elvis in many Zep songs. No surprise since Elvis was a great influence on Plant
Led Zeppelin, Elvis and Reggae, we get this HILARIOUS band!
@@Frankincensedjb123 Yes, and Plant talks of meeting him here on You Tube.

I love this stuff. I was the ultimate Zep fan when I was younger. Elvis would be proud. Good fun all around.
That just reaffirmed my faith in humanity.
Truly awesome in every way, shape and form. And these guys really bring it live.

Oh my gosh. When he says "Hammer of the gods" the understatement had me pissing my pants. I'm suing these bastards for damaged gut muscles.
What is absolutely amazing about Dread Zeppelin is they did all of this, rocked it out, and there was not one note of '"ironic" anywhere.
LOL f*** yeah I know you're a funny son-of-a-b**** wish we could party sometime
This is beyond epic 🙌
Just found these crazy people with crazily blended music ideas... two thumbs of my feet up.

Why cant people get over themselves and enjoy the video? Zeppelin are one of my fave badns and i like it!
I remember Robert Plant being asked if he had heard any LZ tribute bands he thought were doing LZ right. He said Dred Zeppelin was about the best.
No arguement but I heard that Jimmy Page was the the one that really dug it. I don't mind being corrected.
