Hope you’ll have time to video the 4430 repairs. The rear window in the Volvo more than like a rock or two. The people I drive for in the spring hauling fertilizer end up short term leasing a truck to put on a adams trailer and generally it’s new with very heavy treads on the tires and by the second trip down a gravel road all of a sudden no back window. And my favorite trick of getting out driving these trucks is i don’t know how to shift an automatic transmission in a semi. You wouldn’t believe the looks I get from the boss. You would laugh your self silly. And as he’s trying to explain there’s no shifting involved I’m climbing into the old international with a cat and 10 speed and pulling off the lot digging around in the floors looking for the paper work to know who’s farm I’m going too. Enjoying your video very much.
This is exactly why I like you Wes because you say it as it is, I had that this year on my farm and really struggled to get through the year. I wish you all the best 👍
I truly enjoy your videos because they are just what real everyday people do. And I usually learn something on most of them about farming and mechanical things. Keepem coming sir,and God Bless
I use a waste oil heater in my shop. It does not like to burn syntetic oil at all. I got an actual puddle of un burned oil in the chamber, and on the injector tip. A larger injecter and higher air flow in the chamber fixed that issue, at a cost of more oil per hour burned. After that fun time and a learning curve, conventional no synthic in my trucks or oil burner. Thanks for the shows Wes and family.
It'll be nice to see the 4430 get put back together that's always been a very good staple vehicle for John Deere my dad's got two we've always used it with loaders and without rotors it's always done a lot of hay and moving of corn for us
Thanks for sharing your thoughts, ideas and videos. Really nice mixture of content. Always pondered if you could upgrade the capacity of the trailer by adding another axel. Probably not as easy as I might think since if it was it would already have been done. Always seems a waste when it optically looks like you just got started filling it. Obviously I’m ignorant to the actual requirements of the situation. Wishing you and your family the best, hopeful that 2025 turns out better than it looks to be so far.
Good morning Wes. I had a similar experience with the window on our Kubota RTV that we use at the broading stable I manage. As I was driving into a pasture the windshield exploded. The only explanation I could think of was a stray bullet.
Was you going through a ditch or uneven terrain. If it was a normal path did you have more weight than normal. Reason I am asking is I had a windshield on an rtv explode that had a lot of hours on it when I went through a ditch and chassis flex caused the windshield to twist and tempered glass doesn’t like that
I run and have ran engine oil in my diesels for 20 years. I run a higher ratio for sure and even at times straight oil for fuel in the older ones. I always take the full oil change and put in my fuel tank. (Clean pan and funnel of course). My transfer tanks get the oil changes put in them as well for equipment. Now, my new stuff cannot run it much at all. You have to cut back to 8oz per tank full because of dpf. I run hard and rarely idle the dpf trucks so rarely regen. I have 2 dodge trucks well over 400k and one over 300. Original vp pump and injectors on all 3. Every ford I own that I didn’t buy with bad injectors or changed for performance are still on factory injectors. Some have a rough idle when cold. But that has nothing to do with the fuel (look up stiction on powerstroke). Sulfur is a lubricant, oil is a lubricant. And if any foreign material gets in a tank then we have filters for that.
Was all set up to arc air main boom pin out of 270 excavater emergeny job came in load on lowbed was on the job for 2 weeks back to town change pin was extra greasing but made some money
Wes, You know when you turn up a flat stone and see all the worms, creepy crawlies and bugs suddenly scatter all over the place looking for cover, being exposed. That is what Elon Musk has just done for the UK.
This farming world will soon be gone. No business buys at full retail and sells at wholesale prices. This country has gone all over the world showing people exactly how to grow what we try to sell them.
The cost of everything ag will go up under Trump… will drive most farmers out of business. Who can make money when Deere and other tractor parts have 300+% tariffs? Trump wants to restrict export of corn, wheat, barely, all grains overseas which will tank our numbers. I’m not looking forward to 2025, 2026, 2027 and 2028 as a farmer.
You are so right on about NOT buying any equipment this year !

I cut back from 1000 acres sorghum to 600 and an extra 200 cows to derisk the farm. Cropping costs too much at the moment Wes.
That mirror is about to fall off. Great vid, keep 'em coming.
Happy new year Wes!

Rock off the rear tires taking out the back window of a daycab? Been there, done that. Sounded like a bullet.
You’re such a talented creator. Your content always inspire me.
