- CORONER COLLECT!
Quad tracked guitars this time. I think it came out OK, but I think it would be a good idea to tune the guitars before recording the 2 extra tracks next time or maybe not, I heard it adds flavor.

I like how you nailed the crunch of their guitars. Phil Demmel and Robb Flynn were a good duo.
And you can see me on tv! Sports jacket, cool tie wheeling out the Body!

BAD ASS!!!!
One of my favorite VIO-lence songs since high school in the late 80's. I haven't heard it too many times in the last decade or two though. To be honest,. I don't remember ever trying to figure out playing it. This cover you made will guide me through having it nailed by this afternoon! Thanks for bringing an old classic back & inspiring me to add it to my warm up riffing routine!

Thanks! If you go to the "ABOUT" section on my chanel, I added an email adress so you can contact me.
So sick, you nailed all the little details. Can tell you've done your thrash homework. I'm having trouble pulling sounds out of NTS and just amp Sim plugins in general. Any tips?
Thanks! I guess I need to do more Vio-lence or Forbidden covers, they are the only videos that get comments lol.
As far as amp sims go in general, what I noticed is that the impulse response makes all the difference. I tried all of the Neural DSP sims and a few from other companies and noticed that they start sounding really simillar to eachother when played through the same IR. I would go so far as to say that when talking about high gain amp sims they make for 10-20% of the tone and the main part is the speaker and mic simulation. In this particular video I believe I used the OwnHammer (r)Evolution 4x12 Marshall cab with V30 + a 57 mic. So definetly try some 3rd party IRs and be a little conservative on the gain. The EQ on the amp looked something like bass @ 40%, mids @ 60%, highs @ 70% and presence at about 70%, but I'm not 100% sure so just experiment a little. Also I quad tracked the guitars and panned two of them at about 80% so that makes a difference too I guess.
When it comes to mixing I suggest you check some youtube videos because I'm kind of lost in this department lol. I do the basic post EQ with the high pass and low pass thing and then experiment with the rest. I hope this helps!
I was just listening to Jerry today, great job on the Eastbound and Down solo
@@filqo6 Killer, thanks. Really struggling to find that balance between what sounds good and what feels good to play. Usually I'll track with a higher gain reverby sound and then pull everything back after the fact but as much as I wished I was, I'm not a tone chaser guy, I'm totally set and forget so I usually end up wrestling with the computer the whole time instead of playing. Too many parameters to tweak
Country music is my secret love, it's where all the real guitar heroes live. I think there's a place in hell reserved for me for playing that solo on a 7 string with bareknuckles though. I'm starting to develop this pain in my elbow from doing all the fast metal rhythm stuff so when that claps out I'm going to trade my Ibanez for a tele and all my black band shirts for overalls and a straw hat lol
@@P3t3rPizzarelli I know the struggle, I hate all the tweaking also. I watched a couple of AxeFx videos and I know I would lose my mind with all the settings if I got it.
Oh now doubt, once I get sick of this I'm buying a pedal steel guitar and forming a Johnny Paycheck tribute band asap lol.
Great cover. I’m curious how did you create the backing track. did you isolate Sean vocals with a software and than added your own guitar and drums?
wished you had the gp file for it
