As you say mate, nice to see the stump on S🎅weet Candle! I thought they'd lost it! I'll be sowing more onions on the 27th, just in case - I had bad Zebrunne last year. Same sort of harvest here with the addition of a savoy cabbage (I like savoy!) Have a great festive season Mr & Mrs Nigel!
Hello mate, hope you had a good Christmas and happy New Year. A nice harvest of carrots and sprouts 😋. I think you should show us how you how you harvest your worm compost. Shame about your onions. All the best Nic 👍🥕🥕🥕🧅
the onions will pick up when the new foliage comes through, nigel. i've seen a few bad backs in my time, lifting sprout plants out by the roots. lol. the soil in allotments isn't always as fine as yours. merry christmas and a happy and productive new year, mate................brian
The large tender and true parsnips i pulled today top part has canca as well ( Northamptonshire ). Smaller ones like shop brought are good. Have a peaceful holiday everyone.
Hi Nigel 👋👋 Shame about the onions, happened to me a few year back with my big onions. You had some great Parsnips, carrots and Brussels they're ready for Christmas dinner. I have just decided what onions I will be sowing ready for next year, my main crop will be Globo. Merry Christmas and a very Happy new year to you and your family 🎄🎄🤶🤶🎅🎅🥳🥳🎇🎇🎆🎆☃☃❆❆
Hiya Nigel, Hope your ok mate? Not heard from you in a while. Just watched your onions from seed to storing video, marvelous! The best one out there! Sets or seeds? Haha I'm doing both this year and I'll decide in summer. Keep up the fantastic informative work. A good lad to check out is Geoff Foreman on the plot. A wealth of knowledge! Old school organic allotment gardener.
Happy New Year. Thanks for the videos, always appreciated. Interestingly we've also had a lot more canker on the parsnips this year, due to the wet summer but its been a great crop so can't complain....although Interestingly it did turn stain the hand I was holding them with when peeling them.
Hello Nigel, I love watching your videos, I always learn something. I've found the Agralan plug plant trainers a huge help, and I've even caused another plot holder friend to spend his Amazon voucher Xmas present on a couple. I've bought another one as well. Just a couple of questions now. Last year I started using Bathgates Premium compost and found it excellent..however, where I live, in South Northants, nobody seems to sell it, and again, I've had to buy it online. The delivery cost shoves the price right up. Even from Amazon with alleged free delivery, a 50ltr bag is over £20. Online suppliers also charge heavily for the delivery. Maybe you could recommend a supplier?? Also, how do you dry your compost??. The stuff I buy always seems quite wet. Any help in these matters will be appreciated Thanks for your videos and I look forward to this year's uploads. Happy new year. Jeff
have had mixed results with premier seeds direct. terrible red sweet pea germination, but fantastic parsnip, up in less than a week earlier this year. any ideas about poor red sweet pea germination also happened with two batches from kins seeds this year, mixed and white varieties no problems. find the videos really useful keep them coming
Hi Nigel, hope you had a good Xmas, and the veggies lived up to standard?. I'm just starting to prepare for next year, tidying up and buying seeds. And there is a problem I had this year you might be able to help with? I bought a Veggiepod this year filled it with good compost, but nothing seemed to grow well? I wonder if you did anything else with yours to help growing?
Most of my old onion seed from The Dawn chorus Plot haven't germinated so I will sow some of my saved seed on boxing day. Nice harvest Nigel. 🎅Merry Christmas to you and your family, Terry King.
Merry Christmas Nigel and all the best of the season to you and the family. Sorry but even telling me they were mini cabbages I wouldn't eat them; I will leave them for you :D.
I think you and me are of a similar age Nigel and I clearly remember my old mum telling me the same thing that sprouts were baby cabbages and it worked😅😅 Have a peaceful Christmas and thanks for all the advice throughout the year.
Hi Nigel, Happy New Year 🎉 shame ablut your onions but, at least you can sow more seeds. always a great video update with lots of detailed information. Lovely harvest of vegetables for your Christmas Dinner. Thanks for sharing and take care 😊
Just found youzr channel and have subscribe\d. Looking forward to watching your vlogs. I was mainly a flower grower until a few years ago. Hi Nigel can I put my onion in the cool frame now
I hated sprouts as a kid but I love them as an adult, probably my favourite veg, had a ton of them fried with Bacon in the states
