That's awesome! I'm just getting into this so I've been suffer RUclips on the best way too do it. Definitely a nice jig setup. You should show a video of them installed on your house as well as how you installed you controller and power supply.
I used to 15/32 drill bit on in drill press and on in down hole. Your setup would allow you to drill 90% of the way through, to fully recess the blade. I test 3" vs 2" and I get brighter even wash on house wall with 2"
Awesome that you’ve figured this out. This is exactly what I was considering to do. Instead of the traditional drill bit, I plan to use a step bit, which work far better for thin sheet metal, and a very clean hole. I was struggling to find the right material width, and never thought of Metalmart. I live about 5 miles from the Lehi store. Great find! Do you plan to have them facing down or out? Look forward to seeing your final build video.
Yeah, I thought about a step bit. It probably would have been better I was just trying to get exactly the right size hole and couldn't find a step bit for that size (slightly larger.) Metalmart is so awesome! The holes are pointing down. I have installed the flashing so far but not the lights. I'll get a video out soon and once it warms up a little I'll install the lights.
Thanks for sharing the metal jig information. Can you share what light system you are using and if you sourced it local in utah or elsewhere? Thank you.
Thanks for this video. Looking forward to seeing how you mount the channel. Planning on doing the same if I can find the channel at a reasonable price.
Glad you liked it. I have mounted the channel with the holes facing down. I will try to get the video up soon! Hopefully our snow will melt and I'll also get the lights up!
@@dadx4334 Yes, they are usually 90° so they make a 45° chamfer around the edge of the hole. I love my countersinks for metal, wood, plastic and so on. 😊 With thin metal I think the drillpress is better than handheld use. 👍
I got them at my local metal store: metalmart.biz/metal-roofing/ You may be able to find them at a similar store local to you. I would have liked to have used some of this LG111 Square Base Trim: images.app.goo.gl/8r1Cno3i9y2Fo4KC8 to put it completely under the eave but I couldn't find any locally.

Use a Forestner Bit to get nice clean holes. Most suggest a step bit, but the Forestner is a little faster.
I was going to say the same thing 15/32 brad bit or forestner bit

Nice job...do you have a picture of them mounted on the house?

Coming soon

They are called pixels. Here they are: amzn.to/3kK5pvd
Thanks for showing your jig! I have spent a lot of time looking for videos like this. How did you install the channel?
You're very welcome. I used white-headed self-tapping bolts/screws and mounted it directly to my fascia. I'll have a video coming on that soon.
@@dadx4334 please do update us on this if you can

New video coming soon!
@@mountaintopper I'd love to see the video
Did you ever mount them?
Nice idea! (A countersink would fix the burrs in a second 😉 )
That sounds like a fantastic idea. I do not own a counter sink bit. Is the idea just to barely touch it so that does not expand the size of the hole?

@@RuneOsnes Thank you very much for sharing, that'll definitely make the installation and handling process safer.
No, thank you for sharing! 😊 Please update us when fully installed. Best regards!
@@RuneOsnes more videos will definitely be coming of bench testing the system, installing, lighting up the system, etc.!
Thanks for the video. Would be nice to know how u mount on roof.
New video coming soon!
Where did you buy those ?can you share a link for it ?
