Helped eliminate hyper flash from a complete LED headlight swap. Ordered my relay through Quadratec for my 02 TJ. Thanks for posting, the hyper flash was getting embarrassing
Great video! I had bad luck with the Novita flasher. It fixed the rapid flashing but my hazards no longer work. I'll replace it again someday, haven't needed the hazards yet (;
Thanks Aaron!
I have the same issue with hazard. I’ve tried three different flashers... all the same result
how did you fix it? same problem
@@BrunoGarcia-hp8ct still haven't fixed it, no hazards. When I get around to it I'll just try a different brand
Have the same problem does anyone know how to fix it?.
way harder on your year verse 2000 TJ ton install! Great video~
Thanks! 👍
Thanks Kyle
I was wondering how to take care of this problem
Thanks a bunch 🙂
no problem! Glad I could help
Freakin great video - helped me figure my issue out. Except I had no hyper flash, my turn signals and emergency flashers would not run they just turned on and stayed on. So watching several videos to find the right Goldie locks one I came across your video and it was the one that helped. Thanks. So frustrating that the simplest thing of changing a bulb would mean extra steps … bulbs are plug and play and even that is not really straight forward when it comes to LED.
Glad I could help!
Awesome vid hope your doing better. They way that it's wired too will allow the hazzards to work normally even if the turn signals don't. Replaced slot of stuff before I realized that.
Thanks Larry!
Hey Kyle thanks for the vid.By the way have you changed out your dome or courtesy lights to led's?If so was it just switching the bulbs or did you have to change out the light fixtures too?
Thanks for watching bro! I have not changed any of that. I have the fuse pulled for the dome light anyway when I run doorless
This is what I use for a 2005 jeep TJ, NOVITA LM470 local AUTOZONE should carry it
I put one of these flashers in years ago and all of the sudden I started hearing a repetitive clicking sound coming from that general area inside the steering column. The best way to describe it is "Click-click.........click-click.........click-click".
It's absolutely maddening on road trips! It only happens when the ignition is on, but for some reason, not every single time. It seems to be a roll of the dice. It stops when I hit the brakes but starts again when I let go. I figured it was just a defective relay so I ordered a new one. Nope. The sound is still there. "Click-click.........click-click.........click-click".
I'm going to have to take the column apart again tonight and confirm whether or not it is in fact the relay, and if it is, what else back there could be causing it to click. The possibility of both relays being defective is pretty low.
Yea sounds like an electrical issue maybe. I would check all your grounds, connectors, and fuses
Great video, I been thinking about doing this but I don't know because of the snow, will the leds be able to melt snow?
Thanks Jim! I have had no issues with snow building up on them
Thank you for the video, you helped a lot. Another thing, where did you buy that steering wheel lining
It is the factory steering wheel
Kyle, what year is your TJ? I have a 2001, in the article you attached it has a lot of additional info that they suggest. Just wondering what year you have. Would the LM470 fit my 2001?
Hey John, My jeep is a 2001. This is the flasher I have metalcloak.com/gcd-5-pin-led-flasher.html
Will this relay you shared work on a MicTuning LED light with signals, 80w ?
Awesome video. Sold me a four pin flasher. Mine was a five.
What year do you have?
@@KyleSVT 2004. Turn signals worked with power off.
Im pretty sure my 5pin does the same thing
who sold you the 4pin version?
@@KyleSVT extreme terrain. Horrible service. Wanted additional money for there mistake. For a five pin. Return was a big hassle. Fedx located in Walgreens declined the return. Took to UPS store. 12 bucks to return. Never again!
My turn signals buzz when engaged. Hazards work fine. Could this be solved by replacing the relay too? 2002 TJ.
I’m having the total opposite! My signals are working fine in sync with the headlight turn signals but when I put hazards on they don’t work and makes a zzzzz sound ! Any suggestions?
Thanks for posting this!
Glad I could help!
I noticed you installed the Novita LM470 LED flasher relay. I have an 04 Rubicon that I want to run LED tail lights. Have you had luck running this relay so far?
Been fantastic
Awesome! I just ordered one. Thanks...@@KyleSVT
Hey Kyle, I replaced that steering column fuse when I installed my Quadratec LED taillights. But I’m looking to convert my turn signal and side marker to LED as well. Do you think think I’d have any issues?
that should be fine. im on led headlamps and led turn signals with that flasher
Turn signals worked great once the flasher was upgraded. Question is why my hazards are still in hyper-flash on my 2005 Jeep Wrangler X?
Hmm not sure why that would be
Hello Todd, i think i have the same problem. I replaced the flasher relay like the video but when i try to use my hazards it makes an obnoxious buzzing noise and they dont flash. I found one solution on a forum but it involves getting diodes and resistors and wiring them in. Just wondering if you have found an easier solution?
Good info! Thanks
hey kyle, my wrangler doesn’t hyperflash anymore, but i’m getting a the auditory warning that my turn signal has been left on when just my lights are on. any clues?
Hey Carter. did you replace the resistor?
@@KyleSVT i re did all my wiring, and even put resistors in, do i need to replace that LED flasher relay maybe? for now i just unplugged the solenoid that makes the sound while i research
Does anyone know if this will work if you just installed LED headlights (and not the turn signals or side markers)?? I have an 05 TJ and put in LED headlamps only. Now, the right turn signal indicator stays lit, and I get hyper flashing on the right side. I was told that it is b/c the current is lower voltage with the LED headlights, and since the side markers are connected to the head lights, this is what causes it. I was wondering if this will fix this problem? I really do not want to have to wire in the load resistors. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
I would give it a try
What year is this Jeep? Mine is a 1998. Just wondering if mine will be in the same spot
2001
We bought a new relay and put in it yesterday, but we must have blown a fuse. Now neither the blinkers or the flashers work. Could anyone tell me where I might look to find the fuse for this issue? 2004 tj
What relay did you purchase?
At least that's an easy fix for over blinky lighrs
My jeep,2003 tj, is running its oem tail lights.Would replacing this part potentially fix hyper flashing even if I dont have LEDs?
Are the bulbs burnt out?
@@KyleSVT the bulbs work. My right turn signal hyper flashes.
any other lights out like turn signals, side marker turn signals, reverse lights, headlights?
@@KyleSVT none. They all seem to be working perfectly fine.
hmm im I would check the wiring of everything
Flasher for a 2012?
Any clue what most common problem for my 2000 tj to be turning off at red lights or slow turns by itself , electronics stay on?
I would check your battery terminals make sure they are not corroded and maybe fuel filter or maybe air idle control valve
@@KyleSVT Thanks !!!
np!
Coulda cut the relay link for free.
TONS of vids available on the mega easy mod.
Part # for the flasher?
