    This is what it means for Israel to be a light to the nations. Torah is wisdom. Torah is the light. Don’t hide your light. Share it with the world!

    I've been listening to Dennis Prager on the radio for years, so have long admired him and consider him one of the best role-models for keeping one's harmony and goodwill when talking with someone who is hostile and/or immature and/or unreasonable. I've been inspired by how he regularly gives credit to the Torah for his wisdom. But I'd never heard him speak so passionately about the role of the Jews to bring God to the world. This is the most important talk I've heard him give, and I thank God he has the clarity and courage he has to tell us non-Jews as well as Jews the gifts of wisdom and guidance for a just and kind civilization desired by God for all people, that lies in the Torah. It's a revolutionary concept - and I hope more and more Jews and non-Jews take this to heart and spread this wisdom that doesn't require necessarily a change of religion for others of faith, but more clarity and insight into universal principles/divine law that are probably already in their religion. And for those without a faith in the Divine - these resonate as true and can shift them into honoring God and living by his standards. God is working thru this man to make fresh God's invitation and exhortations to live beautiful lives. Praise be to God.

      And - by the way - the sound problems at the beginning of the video improve quite a bit after Dennis begins speaking. It's worth persevering through those.

      What a beautiful message, you are such a sweetheart. Interestingly enough, I think it was Lawrence Hajioff who I heard say it, but when moshiach actually comes, in some ways there won't be Jews and Christians and Muslims and other religions because there will become a singular understanding and belief in the One true G-d.
      We must assume that the coming of moshiach is in the balance, and that our very next mitzvah (good deed) could be the one the brings him. -Rambam (Maimonides). Have a great day and G-d bless you 🙌

    I was shocked when I saw the poster at the university last week: "Dennis Prager comes to BIU???"
    Happiness was soon replaced by utter disbelief when I have figured out, te event has already occurred just 3 days before I have seen the poster...

    That's still wrong. You have an obligation not only to no-harm but protection to your family. Ofc withhin reason and there you can make a treason argument- that essentialy it atmounts to treason therefore like with murder etc. it has to be evaluated differnently from that because the nature of the act superceeds anything else, but I am a nationalist (for a different people) and yeah that is toubellinh

    While the sound quality is a challenge, I am very intrigued by Dennis' religious approach. I would LOVE to hear about his religious praxis, namely how he maintains the view that the Torah is divine, while simultaneously not observing the halacha laid down by the Torah-established Sanhedrin.

    questionable teaching? no clear decision in my mind yet. i will look to the word of God which is in heaven for further console. but I'm only 42 min. in so . But the vernacular he is using is of no credit to his purpose. sorry. but his words give him away. but who knows what i know . only God i guess. and because of the jealousy of the human heart i really cant help you . maybe Gods will. but who am i to understand completely. Dennis you have had much better teachings before. in the future. but im in the past.

    This religious book tells us one thing: a person’s values matter, not their station in life, not if they’re famous or if they’re rich. The Torah doesn’t even care about modern day things like national or ethnic affiliation. That’s unique to it because what I listed has always been important to humanity at large. In one fell swoop, the Torah negates all that and says your values are the only thing in life that’s ultimately important. Everything you were taught is purely peripheral and irrelevant. That’s a moral and a rational argument. Its not one made by human beings who are flawed, selfish and irrational but are made by the One God above all of that human pettiness who created us. Here the Torah changed our thinking and it also changed the world.

  • @NormanF62
    @NormanF62 3 года назад

    The point of morality being about deeds is instructive in our modern woke culture where feelings dominate everything. You cannot be a moral person if you do the right thing only when you feel good to act on it. Given human nature, that seldom happens. Morality is only of consequence when we’re obligated or commanded to do what is right and any feelings we might have in spite of it, are irrelevant. Morality is rooted in everything we do, not in our view of things. When morality and feelings conflict, morality always takes precedence. That’s how it should be in our world and every human being would be far better off if they followed that rule.

    I learn human decency as a monotheistic value from Dennis Prager. I do not learn Judaism from Prager. But learning the G-dly root of how to be decent is a great teaching. I can deal with the fact that I learn the monotheistic roots of decency from Prager even if I learn Judaism from someone else.

    No evidence whatsoever that Moses ever existed.
    Dennis is great on contemporary topics but undermines my respect for him when he pushes his belief in God nonsense. He is living proof of how a clever mind can simultaneously believe in fairies or their equivalent. I. E. god.

      This is a true story. A group of Israeli archaeologists went into the Sinai desert with metal detectors. They found a strong signal of metal. They dug down 15 meters and found an Israeli jeep from the war in 1967. The sands had shifted in one decade so the jeep was buried under 15 meters of sand! What chance do they have of finding archeology from the Jews in the desert?! Also, they have now found a number of ancient Egyptian texts that mention the Hebrews. But the argument for archeological evidence and against are about even and likely not relevant anyway.
