There's a similar art in Japan where it was common for young apprentices to burn their hands to begin with before they calloused. It's not blowing the sugar though and it is an edible sweet rather than a decoration.
This is a beautiful art form, and safer than using glass (which is super hot, temperamental and can explode because it feels like, and injure the people watching)
I had a rooster or a dragon done, don't remember, but it was awesome 😎 I'm sure it's a dying art, probably takes a lot of training and doesn't pay as much as other professions. Respect to the elderly masters keeping this tradition alive
