It’s my 10yr art anniversary this month (and coincidentally my 100th video on this channel). I’m so proud of how far I’ve come! Keep going with your journey, don’t compare yourself to other artists ❤️
"artists don't make money. Why you wasting time doing art?' Newsflash. If I want to be broke, let me be broke in peace! But also artists do make money!" You're my hero. I needed to hear that today.
Love this. My school teacher laughed at me when I wanted to be an artist when leaving school. I'm now 40 years old and I want to not give up on my dream. I'm very rusty bit I'm trying to get back into what makes me happy. My daughter has a passion for art and I will not let a teacher do the same thing that happened to me. You have already inspired my daughter so much and me to draw even more. ❤️
I used to love colored pencils in high school, that's all I used until I went into art school. There is a definite hierarchy of materials in art school, and there really is not the time to make full pieces in colored pencils, so I am a strict painter now. I haven't used colored pencils in a hot minute, but watching your videos really makes me want to pull out my prismacolors. Great video!
I'm 15 right now so this is super inspiring that you were able to start around now and get that good in 10 years. I want to be an artist as my career, so I'm dedicating a lot of time to practice. Thanks for showing us that our dreams can come true. :)
And most importantly don’t just be discouraged when u see 14-13 yrs old doing amazing paintings , it is ur own journey and ur story, just take ur time and practice
Thankyou for this! It really is helping me because I’m a beginner artist and I love watching your videos for tips and ideas on things to draw/do I love it. It’s such a nice place and you help so many people. I can’t tell you how amazing you are o can’t believe you can draw/colour like that it’s just a beautiful skill to have. Thank you so much for helping me on my journey thank you so much! 💝💝
Hey Temi, I'm 10 and iv been doing art since I was 6, Because of your video's I have made it to were i am, i may not be the best but I think I'm good for being 10. I have learned on my own and hearing your story's have helped me so much!
This gave me so much inspiration, I was struggling with my colour pencils and i thought to give up, but after watching video, oooh it just gave me a boost, thank you so much time and keep going😍💜
Thank you for making this video 🥰 This year I'm in grade 9 and have kinda meh art but seeing you grow did encourage me to start working on my art!! I'll try to practice and hopefully one day I'll be as good as you are now 😆
Watched this video on my way home after a job interview. I had already started my drawing, I was so scared of the way it would turn out so I kinda delayed finishing it. After I saw this I decided to finish it. And it wasn't that bad with limited resources. Thank you Temi❤ You got yourself a new subscriber (well this is my mom's phone). So as soon as I get my own, I'll subscribe on my RUclips
Aw thanks for this video I love this! I’m in y13 rn, doing my a levels, and I love colour pencils. But I’m in a art block right haha, I’m doing a portrait of SZA but sometimes I overthink so much before actually getting to the portrait. IM LIKE GIRL GET THAT SHH DONE 🤣😭
The amount of patience, hard work, perserverence and talent it takes to get to that level is amazing to see 😍💪👏 I actually remember seeing some of these earlier drawings so happy to see u progress and get the appreciation you deserve. Love Simran xx
You are such an amazing artist and a really inspirational person - thank you so much for all the tutorials and speed draws, I've been wanting to get back into trying realism but have never had the courage due to fear of it turning out rubbish; now, thanks to you, I have the inspiration to try again. Thank you so much :)
i love the fact that you dont just show a blind eye to your mistakes, even in your recent artworks, you have taught me so MUCH i struggled so much with drawing potraits, but now? i love to draw them ! its still not as good as i hope but ill say im 70% there! so THANK YOU!!!
Art has always been a calling in my life, you're awesome Temi. Congrats on your life journey, I hope your medicine wheel is full of peace. And you are beautiful, if beautiful was a name it would be Temi.
Girl you've came along so long in your journey, I am so inspired by your journey and I am my own and trying my best . Your are my biggest motivation Temi ❤❤❤❤❤💜💜💜💜💜
Tami you are so inspirational! I found you by accident and so glad I did. Thank you for all your tips. I'm going to start with my cheap colored pencils and keep going!
Thanks for sharing Temi. I love all kinds of medium and I’ve received those “non-spoken” judgement by some people not seeing pencil and color pencil art as a fine art medium. You really are an inspiration for those of us that want to keep going with what brings joy to us regardless of people’s opinions. Much love & God bless 🥰
I love these Tyrade videos! I learn so much more about you and more tips from you in these videos! You're always such a good help with your advice for someone who is an artist in the USA. Where I live were not really an artistic state. I live in Nebraska and your advice just gives me a sign that I can do this path. Love you Temi! ❤❤
I cannot remember how I found her channel 🤔 but, she is so ADORABLE 🥰 Now, maybe I can finally learn how to layer my colors b/c whew chile, my portraits out here looking like a colorful mess made by blind hyper squirrel who had too many cups of coffee 🤦🏾♀️😂
For my GCSE’s I always got criticised for just drawing in graphite pencil! Just like you did A Level. I came out with a grade C and my teacher said I could have gotten an A if I wasn’t so “Lazy”... I’m not interested in anything except graphite and colour pencil portraits so I’m not sure why it was such an issue to stick to one method and improve it to the best it can be? Surely that’s better than doing everything averagely?
Well said, perseverance is the key to your own success, so-glad you have learned and shared your thoughts, well done. Thank you for your sights and wisdom.
Hi Am also from England and was looking forward to doing my gcse art butttttt I’m home educated that means I cannot take gcse art which is very annoying. I love hearing about your gcse art and I can’t believe how much you’ve grown
I was very lucky with my art teacher in school, he encouraged me in trying different techniques and mediums, so I was able to use my markers and coloured pencils for my school work. He was a bit sad that I didn’t study art after finishing school but I can not imagine being a full-time artist. So I have my bachelors degree in computer science and doing art as a hobby which works great for me 🤗

I only started drawing when the pandemic started last year...and I already made so much progress!! I'm doing art only as a hoppy I don't plan to take it anywhere but it's really fun to work with limited resources and see where you can fo with thim. I also noticed that drawing white skin is easy in graphite but really difficult with my 24 colouring pencils, with black skin it's the complete opposite 😂
Hi Temi!!!! Thank you for the video! It is very inspiring! Can you please make a video on how to draw Afro hair with color pencils? I have searched for it in RUclips and found tutorials for it with graphite, not color pencils. It will be great if you do one! Thank you!
