Fender is slaying the pedal market lately.
They waited too long...its feels like its kind of too late. Nonetheless, great pedals
@@esongsore Yes they waited too long but I bought an MTG:LA distortion pedal anyway. For modulation, I got a Boss MD-500 because you can edit on a big screen computer 100 times faster than from just twiddling dials, menus on the pedal. Onscreen editing is a big deal. It's easy, fast, intuitive, visual, all parameters are visible at once. However, the sounds are what sells the unit because that is the killer app. The Boss 200 series is like the Fender pedals, no onscreen editing. On the DD-200, 12 modes of delay are available out of the box. I have not edited the DD-200 yet because editing sounds on the pedal with 3 digit symbols is not intuitive. The Fender MTG:LA distortion pedal uses an actual preamp tube. No programming, just dial in great sound. Brilliant. But it's not too late, I can still rock, and that's okay.

That Smolder OD is next level. Sounds great.
So many pedals and so little time... my tombstone is going to say "He ate all of that Kale for nothing and didn't have enough Fender guitar effects pedals."
The Smolder Acoustic OD is going to have a big impact for acoustic players who sometimes want that extra kick of distortion, but can't bring an electric or an amp with them to get that sound in the conventional way. Hoping to see lots of these types of players picking it up and putting it to good use!
Several years ago, I saw Tyler Bryant, opening solo acoustic for Jeff Beck, with his guitar case as his kick drum, and from what I could see, just going straight into the board. He had a great full and thick acoustic sound. After the show, I approached him at the merch table and asked "How on earth does a guy playing a flat-top acoustic sound like he's slinging a Les Paul through a Hi-Watt?". Bryant smiled slyly and replied "I'll never tell." You wouldn't think an overdrive for acoustic players would be handy, but sometimes it is.
For sure. In fact this Smolder pedal gets one to thinking “why spend 2k on an acoustasonic, when I can just buy this????"

The blend on the overdrive and piezo is similar to what I get with my stereo mag/piezo blend on my EBMM 7 string guitars. Pretty neat effect. Mind blown!
Great work on the Smoulder! Been wanting some overdrive for my acoustic shows to spice it up and was thinking I’d have to add a magnetic pickup to use drive pedals. This is impressive guys👍
I walked into Sweetwater yesterday and found The Reflecting Pool pedal. It was in the gear exchange for $200 without a scratch on it. SCORE! Sounds great live.

Fender just flooding the market with pedals lately. Good for them, whether they end up selling a lot or not, I fully appreciate the ambition.
Their last run did phenomenally well especially their reverb pedal that has now been as you can see combined into a giant stereo out monster. If they weren't selling I can't imagine they wouldn't keep making them and let me just say that they look better than any pedals on the market I'll say it they look gorgeous they sound great Yes they are large but I think the real estate is worth it I own three of them so I'm really happy.
I look forward to everything Fender puts out in the pedal world. They got some great stuff.
Cool. I kinda wish they went with two bypass switches for that fuzz instead of one bypass and one select. Would be interesting to stack the two circuits.

fender continues to impress if I didn't already have the Bends compressorI would instantly throw down money for the new combination pedal. I'm curious to see how the MTG LA differs from the original I believe they stated that the distortion is more of an 80 sounding distortion and the pedal definitely has more gain on tap then the original MTG LA which a lot of players complained didn't have enough gain but I'm wondering if the new one cleans up as nicely as the previous model despite the differently voice distortion which you can definitely hear
Do love Fender, i've reviewed a 50's road worn strat on my channel, love to try out some of the pedals though, Fender are really opening up the market recently
