  • We're celebrating Dziady Wiosenne (Spring Forefathers) and I'm talking a bit about Slavic image of afterlife and the otherworld.
I have created a painting for those who feel close to their Slavic roots but lack an image that would relate to the topic of loss and grief, and the wandering of the soul.
The image is available here: photos.app.goo...

Thank you for this precious, kind offering! A light Marzanna is so hard to come by! She's vilified everywhere!

Absolutely in love with this painting. If you ever decide to sell prints, please let me know. I look forward to your oracle deck.
My condolences on your families loss. It is comforting to know they are in her hands. Such a generous soul you have.

It's a lovely image, and thank you for sharing. The thought of the goose as a soul is very endearing.

@@wolfofcoins I love it! I made it my desktop background. :) Thank you! Also, I'm catching up on your videos and you inspired me to go to the library today and get Deathless, The Bear and the Nightingale, and downloaded the Russian fairy tales to pre-read. Enjoying your videos very much re: Slavic tradition and history, and Lenormand.

I like how you suggest that the type of relationship they have is less important than the fact they have a close relationship. That's a lovely way of looking at how the Gods interact I think.

I have read that Weles took another deity for a wife and they couldn’t have children due to her infertility.
Piorun took the goddess Dodola (goddess of rain and storms, sometimes replaced by Mokosz, or Żywie both similar to the Mother Earth).
They had two children; Jarilo (God of war, vegetation, fertility and spring; also associated with harvest) and Marzana (Goddess of harvest, witchcraft, winter and death).
When Jarilo was born Weles got so jealous of his brother's son (his nephew) that he took him from his cradle, took him into the underworld and raised him as his own.
When he emerged, Marzana fell in love and got married. Obviously he did not know and when he went to Piorun to ask for her hand when Piorun recognized his own son.
This union brought temporary peace between the rivalry of Piorun and Weles.

Hi! Unfortunately no, the deck is not ready yet :( I'm done with the painting part, but the guidebook takes a lot of time because I want it to be properly researched.

Thank you so much, Lisa and I'm sorry for your loss! I think I'll try traditional publishing first, I don't really feel I could deal with the load of work that Kickstarter campaign would require 😅
