Considering the year of release of this film and the historical context, this is an extraordinary production, story, and cast....a genuine classic. Who says the British have no sense of humor. Thank you for archiving and sharing this gem.
Almost every 30s and 40s movies from England were excellent, there Noir, there war stories and love stories I find on average better than the ones here in US of same era. Just my opinion...❤ 🌬💀🏴☠️
Athene Seyler is one of those marvelous 'old dames,' like May Robson and Edna May Oliver, who added so much spice and wackiness to 1930s films. Just love 'em!
How come when the man was singing and dancing 🕺 in this movie 🍿 it was great but when the girl was trying to sing 🎶 and dance 💃🏻 it was horrible. It must have been that the man playing for the man was a different person. That hateful woman and her man friend were the ones who didn’t want her to be a success. I’m sure that by the time I see the ending it will have been for the best for Steve, the Captain and all the people who loved 🥰 her to keep her around to enjoy her. 🎶🎶🎶💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻👏👏👏🥰🥰🥰
Jessie Mathews was a fantastic actress, she was stunningly beautiful, one of my favourite beauties to ever grace this planet ❤❤🥰😍
Absolutely delightful!
Roland Young! Alistair Sim! You've got me already!!!! THANK YOU!!!!!
Oooo how I wish that this movie had been in color when I was seeing all of those beautiful 😍 clothes. 🥰🥰🥰😂😂😂😊😊😊

Brits are well known for there humour.
Don't know who you're talking with.
Maybe the dillusional opinions of the USA
@@jewels3895, indeed. I was was confused also. I’ve never known the English to be without humour.
@@jewels3895I've worked with several, they were all funny but also a bit stuck on themselves, a bit arrogant at times.

If nothing were worth watching this movie for, the singing and wonderful dancing 💃🏻 by the girl 👧 and the man made it a joy to watch. 💃🏻🕺🎶🎶🎶👏👏👏
Gift me the above vacant house. And that is that
I gotta admit that the last part of the song 🎶 when she sang loooove was quite a bit too much and annoying. 🎶🎶🎶😵💫😵💫😵💫😡😡😡
