thats his gift and also his problem. yeah, he tortures his opponents for the full time limit, but in many of his fights he also gasses himself out by round 2 and loses to no namers
@kangbang718 Sorry, late reply. I guess I missed your comment before, but I felt compelled to respond because I always found it very puzzling how many people still tend to lean on that critique of Pereira, when the truth is that it hasn't been a problem for him since 2019. It's 2024 now, and he's racked up a seven-fight win streak and only keeps getting better. Only the Khaos and Ponzi fights were a little controversial, but every other victory was decisive and dominant. I think after everything that has transpired and how his failed attempts to make weight for the thompson fight resulted in some serious health issues, I believe it's fair to say that a bigger contributing factor to him gassing out at 170 lbs was the dangerous amount of water weight he was cutting to make the class. Yet another reason that One FC's gradual weight loss system is so much healthier for fighters than traditional weight cutting.
Pereira actually surprised me a lot with his last few fights. When I first saw him I thought he went over the top with the showboating, crazy spinning stuff, back flips and shit. But it turns out that the dude actually has legit skills and is weirdly technically sound, especially on the feet. I enjoy watching him fight. Idk if he’ll ever be championship material but he is still a high level fighter
