This is a great tutorial, thanks so much! I made one for my geldings to share. I will say if your horse has a long neck or sometimes drops his head down low, you may want to use a few extra inches of paracord! :)

Hiya what size horse would the neck rope you made fit please?
hi kayla, my horse is 15.2 but she has a thick neck, so it would fit a 15.2 horse with a thin neck differently. you really need to measure your horse and make to suit. hope that helps! all the best.

Hi what mm thickness of cord did you use? On amazon the only kind I can find a variaty of colours in is 3mm?
hi morgan, this is standard 550 paracord,. there are links underneath the video if you click "Show more", but here is one where there a lots of choices for colours. all the best with your project!
I made my very first neck rope today! I didn’t have enough paracord to make the correct thickness so I only used 3 strands. Next time I’ll get more paracord!
that's great. at least you got some practice in until you get more paracord! you can always undo it and add it in when you get some more.

Hey how would you do a neck rope without tassels and having the other patterns where you join the two end?
i don't know. since the neck rope is for riding bareback and bridleless, you need it to be really strong in case you lose your balance and really need to hold on tight with a lot of pressure, so for me, the knot at the end is the strongest option.

hi cath, i don't think it matters what size cord, just what you prefer really. i used 550 paracord, but i think 440 would be fine too. good luck!

Could you you use 3 strand of cord or does it have to be six? Would that be too thin?
hi button eyes, i think 3 would be quite thin in your hands, but you can always give it a go and see how you like it.

hi nia, 15.2. but that won't help you to know the size of my horse, because you are not making it for my horse, you are making it for yours. my horse has a very fat neck, and a horse the same size with a skinny neck will be different.
