150 year old rifle still works and Im 55 and parts of me are starting to fail
If u were steel youd be good and if rifle were flesh and bone itd be rotted in the ground....like everyone will be one day. Except for me...ill be a diamond...
@@jimjones395From the moment I understood the weakness of my flesh, it disgusted me. I craved the strength and certainty of steel. I aspired to the purity of the Blessed Machine....even in death I serve the Omnissiah.
There is no truth in flesh, only betrayal.
There is no strength in flesh, only weakness.
There is no constancy in flesh, only decay.
There is no certainty in flesh but death.
Rifle was DESIGNED, you and I were not😅
I'm already shooting blanks
Started watching hickok when i was 7. Im 22 now. He still hasn’t aged a bit.
Ikr
And still hasn't missed.😂
Tell that to him lmao

You damn right life is good brother!!
Motivated by your short video and 150 years of awesomeness I picked up an Uberti 1873 44-40 today. Love it! Thank you for the motivation and reminder of this anniversary year!
Congratulations! You'll enjoy it.
This guy is a national treasure
Guns suck
@@joesephsizian9113not if you want to shoot something. Then they actually rock.
@@joesephsizian9113🤡🔫
@@joesephsizian9113 world needs losers' too, else we wouldn't know who the winners are, so thanks for that.
@@joesephsizian9113so now we all know who the loser is. People suck. Not guns. Well some people suck. Not all of ‘em. I guess we know who sucks in this comment thread.
I love the sound of the action on that. Someone else was listening to the exact same sound 150 years ago thinking the exact same thing about the action sound. Beautifully well kept.
I can’t even begin to describe how much I enjoy hearing you talking about and demonstrating such beautiful pieces from your collection, Mr Hickok. Thanks so much, and keep up the good work, brother.
150 Years Old, What A Gem 🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
Boy, that thing sounded smooth as butter
dang you right, my 6 year old lever gun dont even sound that clean sheesh
And the recoil appeared to be straight back. The muzzle didn't jump up. Seems to be a very good design.
i know, he sounded like my grandpa
45 you are the man!!!! Thank you for your videos
With every shots rings a bell from a classier era.
That rifle is a beautiful piece of art!
Have the same rifle my father used in the calvary in west Texas. Still shoots and in great shape.
Cavalry
My favorite gun of all time!
👍👍👍
Love your program .... thanks for sharing this 150 yr. anniversary. I remember seeing these on the old Western movies with John Wayne as well as some of the later made westerns. Thanks For All You Do In Sharing The Knowledge and Passion. God's blessings to you and family
Love Winchester!
If you haven’t already watched the movie make sure you do. Winchester 73. Starring James Stewart. It’s awesome.
"Remember, pa always said don't waste your ammunition. Now you're out..."
The remake, with Tom Tryon and John Saxon wasn't TOO Bad either!!
In my view, this rifle has made the history of the western epopee. A rifle with a great history!
Wowwww! Holding and firing a piece of history like this is amazing! This as close as one can get to a time machine to experience the past.
Absolute beauty right here. Absolute badass here as well. Such a nice sound.
Absolutely! Just as sexy 150 years old as the day they were made. 👍🏻
That thing can still ring the bell.
Beautiful reminds me of old westerns as a boy😊
Ah. Now that's a sweet sound.
That's an absolutely gorgeous rifle
Timeless
Excellent learning opportunity and great positivity. Keep it up, hickok!
This is actually my favorite lever action rifle
got me a 1901 winchester 1897 pump 12 gauge with a 32 inch barrel. She shoots like a dream and action is like butter.
I have a Spanish copy of that rifle. And just acquired a bunch of ammo for it.
Love the sound of that lever.
I am partial to my 1873 Springfield Trapdoor in 45/70 gov
💥🔥👍
I'll meet you in the Greasy Grass and we'll see who has the advantage! Lol just funnin'
That is one beautiful piece of equipment
“Life is good”! 😊😊😊
Much respect to the gunsmith who made that beautiful weapon
Got one in .32-20, made in 1883. It'll still outshoot me.
I love how he flips that switch when he's ready to start shootin. ❤
Happy birthday you old workhorse rifle, you've been around this long and we still love ya ❤
Wow, what a brilliant video 📹 & thank you for sharing.
Also, a big 'Hello' 👋 from Stoke-on-Trent in Staffordshire, England. 🏴
150 bloody years and this little bad boy still packing a punch
The gun is elegant. That bang and clang sound is beautiful.
Love Hickok channel...very knowledgeable and wish I had a range like that
"I HAPPEN to have one." I am SHOCKED Hicock lolol. love these vids!
It’s also the anniversary of the 45-70 cartridge. And of course the 1873 Single Action Army. 1873 was a great year for Firearms.
Yes, we've now done the Colt SAA/.45 Colt cartridge and the Winchester '73 / .44-40 cartridge (not posted yet), so we will do the Trapdoor Springfield and .45-70 cartridge this summer or fall, as well.
@@hickok45 Wonderful, those are all good things to celebrate.
One of the coolest designs ever
Beautiful rifle. Made back when firearms had style and personality.
And parts were interchangeable.
Damn thats a great rifle !!!! The guy showing us about it is a very cool dude!!! He knows his stuff and enjoys what he shares! 😂😂
Bless this man
this dude is a friggin ringer!!
lol
he never misses!!!!
Is that not the one a viewer gave you his father or grandfather wanted you to have it's a beautiful rifle either way
150 years old still firing, very good quality...
Where did you get your glasses?
I need a pair holy nice shooting!
Great video!
I also just started uploading :)
And just a great movie too. Love James Stewart!
Everyone should have a grand pop like this
When they make it look that simple, You know your in the Presence of the JEDI MASTER
*"Don't Stop Me Now" by Queen plays in the distance*
Love this design. I bought a Uberti a few years back.
Democrats will ban it too as an assault rifle
The grandpa we all wish we had or needed! Mine was a lot like this guy! Just not as talkative!
Hickok45 the MVP and GOAT! 1ST COMMENT!😊😊😊
The 97 Winchester pump is another long-lived firearm, also still working. Life IS good.
Hickok remembers when that rifle first came out. 🤣
ABSOLUTELY AWESOME
Great old gun, I have a model 1894 32- 40 Winchester, shoot's great!
I've got an 1889 Marlin in .44/40. I always preferred the side eject over the top eject. Love the rifle, shoots great.
Got one of these Recently it’s still shiny and the varnish on the stock is beautiful
The sound of that old lever action Winchester……Love it !!!!!!
The action sounded really sweet
Little sticky...
I have a 1972 Winchester chambered in 30-30, it has 20 years on me but it's the only rifle I own without out a scope and it has yet to fail to shoot true since the day I got it. Hands down the best rifle I've ever bought at a steal for $100.
Such a cool gun and cool dude. Great combo.
This guy never gets old Literally
Back when quality meant something .
Growing up through the 50s and 60s, every kid wanted one, AND a sixgun.. I was happy when Dad handed me his bolt action .22 rifle.
A work of art.
They still work and work well. My uncle had an original he took deer hunting with us,until one day he let me use it and he had a 50/95. That was an awesome gun. Shot shotgun size shells. Both were very old,but were wonderful works of art.
Absolutely beautiful '73.
Incredible show Guns are Awesome
THAT'S EXACTLY THE LOAD AND RIFLE THAT THE "RIFLEMAN" CHUCK CONNORS USED! RIP CHUCK CONNORS! NICE show sir!
He used a Winchester '92 in .44-40.
Thank you for your service sir ❤
That's so smooth.
Because they were proud of their workmanship made in the USA
My favorite
I love you Hikiok45 been watching your vids for a long time!! Hope you are well ❤
Happy 150th anniversary 🇺🇸 🦅 👍🏻
A timeless rifle
Diese Waffe fasziniert immer noch und zeigt soeben ihre Zuverlässigkeit und Schußgenauigkeit.Toll!
Good to have you here, old man.
Thanks 4 posting.
Winchester is a classic weapon.
A real buffalo rifle! Beautiful!
Absolute Legend for "Frontier" & Balkans....
Got a 348, absolutely love Winchester rifles all makes and models
In the 1960s ...in Northern Maine...
My 15yo brother and I would set out every day accross the potato fields with a set of matched octangle barrel Winchester 30-30s
He the long riffle ...13yo me the carbine.
They were damn accurate by our reckoning with our collective families armory of many 30-06s 30-30s 7mm, (an Italian Mauser) ( my favorite for shooting rats at the dump after dark...for the muzzle flash) a Japaneese 303s
(You could smell coconut on the bayonet) (this held special interest to my Iwo Jima, Guadalcanal, Okinawa 2 Purple Heart from 303s father ..speaking of which...we also had an MQ Garamd and a by the by a Model 1911
45 Automatic... that I could field dress at 13yo.
But...I digress....
We loved our Winchesters....
We were Marshall Dillion and Ben Cartwright rolled into one. ...
We shot everything that moved...
Then one day I blew a porcupine out of a poplar tree.... walked over...put another round in his head ..... never killed anything since.
I grew up with guns... maybe after a life time of never being interested in them enough to buy one ... I'd rather buy a fiddle or guitar for that kind of money but if I did get the hankering I'd love to have that little Winchester back.
PS ...Take yer AR 15s and shove them as far up your ass as it will go.
You never had gramps late night lectures while I sat on stacks of Shooters Bible while he handloaded all the cartridges for half of Aroostook County ....
Your from South of Bangor and it shows.
You learned firearm culture from
Jerry Springer....far as I can tell.
That Winchester is definately a keeper!!!.
Took a second to get there, but it arrived with authority. Love it!
Nobody ever notices how steady this Guy is … No wonder he is such a great shooter …Forget about holding your breath or all the other B S 😊😊😊
My grandfather has one of these beautiful rifles
