Keviin, the SPL is obviously a huge turbo. It is laggy but I don't drop below 4000rpm in a corner. It doesn't take too long to get onto boost and I rev it out to 9000 rpm.

Very nice car with plenty of power. My favorite, though, is the R32 GT-R. Everybody here seems to argue this car is a GTS and not a GT-R and vice versa. Anyone can buy body panels, bumpers, badges, etc., to make a GT-S to "LOOK" like a GT-R. And, a RB26 "COULD'VE" been swapped in there as well. If this "IS" a true GT-R, then a lot of people must not know that the 4WD could be disabled. But is there any benefit to dyno a GT-R with just the rear wheels and not all 4? Anyway. Unless anyone here knows, or seen, the car in the video "PERSONALLY," probably shouldn't strongly state which model it is and/or not. It could be either.

To all those that are confused,....If you switch off / on the ignition on a R33 Gtr whilst its still moving, it will switch off the 4wd and abs UNTIL you come to a stand still, then it re-engages....That how I do it on mine.

The front drive shafts have to be removed to make the GT-R rwd never heard that before i always heard GT-Rs came with transfer cases meaning they can easily switch from awd to rwd at the flip of a switch
I will correct you a little there it is a viscous coupling yes you can disable it however it causes damage to the centre diff everytime you do it. yes they are designed to slip but not one plate doing 180 kph while the other is stationary.
the GT-R is both RWD and AWD. RWD can be 'activated' manually, or it's RWD by default and the front wheels get power when the rear wheels start to lose traction.
If it's possible, could you tell me in which tracks do you run because I want to know how big the turbo lag is when you take a severe chicane and your rpm drops down to 3500 rpm ? Does it feel really bad or is this lag really just a thing of on tenth of a second? Thanks in advance.
On a track you'd be running as close as possible to the peak power and torque at all times. That power peak is pretty poor for any serious racing. Ideally you will want that 600Hp right across the rev range. That peak would suggest that it is a pretty average motor with lots of expensive shiny parts on it, being pushed by a big turbo to its limits.
Everyone who's saying this is a gtst, this is is definitely a gt-r. Gt-r R33s have the ability to go in rwd mode and everyone who's been in one or who owns one would know this.
That's weird, because I've got an R33 GT-R V-spec, and you can disable the front wheels simply by pulling a fuse out - ATTESA ET-S means that it will only drive the rear wheels unless it detects that you are losing traction. THEN it enables the front, but it's a fully electric system, so a single fuse removed (And then a switch wired up to the system) means that you can enable and disable it easily.

lol, it's an R33 Skyline GT-R VSpec, it just has the front differential fuse pulled to divert all torque to the rear wheels since the dyno only has one set of rollers. The tail lights and badges are regular GT-R items so you need to get your eyes checked, I guess..
The car wasn't running at that time, just like no one is running the car in the clip after that. They just had the engine noise from the upcoming clip overlaid. Not intuitive editing. These guys know more about engines than video editing. ;-)
Yes this was IWIN. It killed a couple of plugs so it was miss firing badly above 6000rpm. New plugs are on order from the US and it will make huge power again. It will be used as a race car but unfortunately race cars do have problems.

There is probably better now, but ya must be remembered that the r 34 is now an old car. And it is much more reliable a 580 hp gtr than a 600 hp plastic corvette that loses all its bolts after 10,000 km

Set of 4 with just the rims will set you back,2,500 dollars (aus) for 19inch rims...Also available in silver!!!

They look a bit to rounded at the back to keep that original look. I think they realized this since the 34 boxed up and looked the best of the lot. I mean its not a bad car. I would own a 33 if i couldn't get a 32 or 34. But i would never if i had a choice between them.

when on a dyno they only need the last gear to test the horspower. sometimes its 5th instead of 6th. so he shifts early so he doesnt put stress on the engine.
Expanding on this: With the R32 GTR you can remove the ATTESA ET-S fuse to disable drive to the front wheels (R32 owners will often install an in-line switch). R33 & R34 GTR isn't as simple and straightforward as they use the newer ATTESA ET-S PRO (aka Active LSD or A-LSD), so in addition to removing the fuse, you also need to remove the front drive shafts due to the torque preload on them... leaving them installed will prematurely wear out the clutch packs in the transfer case.
the r33 has a system that disables the front wheel drive. on the side of the console there is a small door that has a switch inside. you press this switch then step on the brake pedal 5 times and hold the pedal until the attesa warning on the dashboard goes out.
579whp with significant traction issues and on an Australian Dyno Dynamics roller dyno. US dyno numbers often end up significantly higher in comparison to Australian dyno results. Which is supported by trap speeds when comparing cars - e.g same car, same modifications, 700whp US dyno vs. 600whp Aust dyno both cars trap 135mph.

Exhaust is a 4 inch HKS Titanium with a HKS Titanium Rear Race muffler.

The GTR is AWD, it runs A 6 speed Holinger box. I removed the front drive shaft for this dyno event as the dyno was RWD only. It will be raced in AWD.

It's the torque, it has a very steep curve due to the cams/turbo he's running in his engine.
