Hi Shane Thanks always for your kindness and willingness to help to help the RUclips community. I truly appreciate it. Now what I have going on is an AOI in FBD, but my inputs and outputs are all on the same side of my AOI so My output wires don't connect. This is my 1st time trying so if you can let me know what step did, I miss setting up my AOI. RS Logic V20 Thanks Darren
Make sure your tag parameter type is correct for the add-on instruction tags. make sure outputs are outputs and inputs are inputs. Also, you can make them visible and not visible in the add-on instruction properties as well. Hope this helps
Yes, I have but only with the emulate version 30 as every emulate has to have the same emulate as the version of the software used. I have several versions of AOI but haven't published yet.
What would be the best way to organize the parameter tags? Is it possible to have a master array for a single type of add on instruction that has an array element for each instance of the AOI that contains all the data necessary for that instance? With the method you show here it creates a new differently named array for each AOI instance as well as new I/O tags that are not contained in the new instance array. Thanks for the video and your help!
@@nashbryce6693 Creating an AOI makes different tags for each instance of its use therefore there is no master array, it would be an independent array for that instruction use
I may have missed this but instead of creating a tag and aliasing it to an IO address, could you put the IO address directly into the AOI? Is there a benefit of doing it one way over the other?
Hi Shane, Great video, do you have a topic for the new powerflex 527 drives, using motion? (this is the only way to control theses drives now) only to start, stop, reference for a Fan or pump for example????
Hi Shane, i can do the setup without problem, its just using the Motion commands to start, stop, and speed reference etc....Im confused with the motion commands, do I use MAM or MDO to start the drive, any help would be greatly appreciated Ian

Thanks for the support, I have more information that could help at OnlinePLCSupport.com which is not finished but does hold a great deal of support info.
I have videos producing every week however I would like some ideas about what you would like to learn from. If you have any ideas then send me a comment back about them and I will make a video for training. Thanks, Shane

You still got an accolades from me after two years of this lovely piece.
Great job showing how to use the add on instruction in a Rockwell PLC.
Thank you for the kind words
Aprecio mucho vuestra gran ayuda, no se imagina lo que hemos aprendido gracias a su generoso aporte, una vez mas muchas gracias...
You Are A Good Teacher Shane!
Thank you
You really are a good teacher! Thank you
Thank you, glad to help

Hi Shane! Have you simulated RSLogix Version 30?
Also what is argument column in the AOI for?

Thanks. I watch your channel almost every day, can you refer me video that scale analog signal from sensor 4-20ma to control vfd for example?.

It's best to alias the bit because of multiple uses of the AOI although yes, you can use a standard input

I could make one when I have time, I am on a project right now that is eating up my time. Do you want setup, config, and control?

Is there a way to modify anything inside the AOI once created ?
Yes
Thank you

You need to do that offline, in some instances, unlock it if the vendor locked it
