I see this youtube video is 4 months old. I just got back into the TCG in August 2024 this month. I asked local card shops do they have 151 cards and they are all sold out everywhere and everyone form investors to collectors to new fans and old fans are buying them up? The booster bundles launched at 29.99 and now they go for 53 a booster bundle of 151 as of 30th of August 2024. Side note 😮😊

Due to there being ZERO culture for kids now a days, and Scarlet & Violet 151 coming out, weve decided to try and go for a complete set. Were having tons of fun, and making some cool memories while also hopefully building a small investment. 😎
Well if your invested in 151 you better take advantage of the reprint to lower your average. In Pokémon you never sell sealed for a loss you just have to wait longer.
Until unemployment doubles and everyone starts losing everything they own when they have no job, which unfortunately is coming later this year and next year. When that happens, like it did in 08-09 everyone unloads everything they own causing a race to the bottom. Most Pokemon stuff will do that because tens of millions of people are all hoping to double their money on their stuff they have hoarded.
this is just sunk cost cope lol, yes it lowers your average but you're losing potential gains elsewhere, instead of cutting your losses and choosing a different investment like S&P which will safely double your investment after 5-10 years or a different set if you really want to stick to pokemon
Eevee Heroes did exactly the same thing. One finally random reprint and prices for boxes dropped in Japan down to like 8,000 Yen at one point, so I started snapping them up. 3 or 4 months later they were 60,000 Yen a box. Buy singles and keep boxes sealed.

Too many collectors are really hung up on the value of the cards over the last few years - be it singles or sealed product. They should be happy that they're getting all these fantastic SIR's, alt arts, and all these cards that are really creative. Literally have seen a bunch of poketubers get angry when they pull a beautiful illustration rare that's not valuable. Like bro, be happy that cool looking card exists!

I believe now is the time to get those singles. I bought a pikachu yesterday for about 130. Most cards I got for under 10. I’ve bought about 120 master balls, some bigger hitters too, like the aforementioned pikachu, also mewtwo, magikarp, some eeveelutions, legendary birds, starters.

Japanese is how I got started way back in 96 so ill always prefer them. They have done some small reprints of Jpn 151 and they weren't as good as the first so we'll see how this big one is.
Id say buy the big boys right now, charizard is trending down. You never know tomorrow something will happen and it could skyrocket bank up. 151 hasn't been kind to me so most of the rare cards I had to buy singles.

Been watching my 151 singles prices and can attest that on average the singles are dropping. Zard is close to dipping under $100 but I have faith it'll go up

Always felt that LO was the next set to take off. Im guessing outside the US on pokenmon center is probably sold out. Thats why its gone up on the secondary market. It must be doing well if its still selling at that higher price. Then again, cant really know if final sales are actual sales or just market manipulation do to shill bidding. Lots of doubles but the ultra rares are sooo cool P.s. they were 29 a piece. A few days later 40 plus shipping
There really isn't much difference, because right after the reprint, in a month the prices will be back to normal. This happens because this is such a popular set.

Calling it now 151 will be a set of a lifetime down the line. Even after the reprint the demand for it pretty much gobbled up most of the product right away. This is not financial advice btw just my thought on it
Same. I just traded for the Espeon Vmax alt art and sold my 2nd copy of Sylveon Vmax alt art and decided to buy the rest, all of a sudden 📈 for no reason. Now it's up to the point where I couldn't afford it no more.

However if there actually was a reason or if the market was already too low then the price increase is due to market correcting itself or increasing demand hence the reason.

I was pretty sad when I realized the masterball wasn't in the US set. Kind of killed part of the "chasing" cards.
