It was a joke. John Morra was a right hand player, but recently he changed his game and started playing with his left hand. Boyes was commenting in this tournament with Phil Yates. Boyes was commenting about Morra's situation, and he said about himself that he (Boyes) can play basic shots with his left hand, but he can really control the cue ball, making him play like Phil Yates. He was insinuating that Phil can't really play. Phil was right next to him, and said that he's applying for divorce, meaning that he wants another partner in the commentating box, because Boyes just made fun of him.

There are a lot of jump shots that saves the day though. I'm sure you can collect quite a few missed kick shots in a tournament as well.
Jump shots ruin the game! That is why I love Efren, kick shots are fun to watch and jump shots are bullshit!

If it's ugly perhaps we should penalize players for walking "in a non beautiful way" around the table instead of beautifully dance around it😁. As for the "too easy" I don't think that's true either. All my opinions and I respectfully disagree with your ones.

Many say that jump cues make it too easy to escape safes and de-emphasize the geometric aspect of the game, but on the other side of that coin, they require players to step up their safety game and develop a more refined touch to leave the ball closer to blockers. In high pressure tournament situations it's easy to over-hit jumps in an effort to ensure they clear the obstruction balls, which is what I think caused most of the fouls that we see here. Jump shots can be technically demanding and they can add an element of excitement to a broader audience, as well as helping the industry by selling more cues, so I'm not against them. For purists though, a carefully hit multi-rail kick through traffic with just the right english is always preferable.

I don't blame He for the last shot. When you jump your head is at an angle that it is very hard to look down the table, I am sure he didn't see the 8 move, plus it moved so little that it wasn't obvious... again, especially when looking down.
Now, the ref should had spotted that, I'm not gonna argue that.

Jose Gutierrez he accidentally nudged the 8 ball while jumping over it to get to the 1 ball. In 9 and 10 ball pool the cue ball (white ball) must contact the lowest numbered ball then any ball on the table must contact a rail (cushion) or else it is considered a foul. Yes it is hard to see but if you watch it on repeat a couple of times you’ll notice it!

Presumably they are playing 9 ball where you pot the balls in number order and so he was jumping the 8 ball black when going for the 1 ball yellow.
If you go to 6:38 and look at the white circle and number 8 on the black ball, it moves slightly as the cue ball brushes it when jumping over.

Why is John Morra shooting left handed when he is a righty!!!! Good to see he can play at that level with either hand..But then again he comes from a family of pool players... His father was and probably still is the best i’ve ever seen playing snooker one handed...
He had a severe medical issue that forced him out of the game for about a year and damaged his dominant hand/eye coordination, so he taught himself to play with his other hand.
It's just a little touch to the ball
if VAR were to be used, then Mario He's jump attempt will be waived off and called a foul right off the bat... gotta have some really sharp eye contact with the balls
