- Yo, if you wanna dodge the crowds, hit up the popular spots in Kyoto at the crack of dawn or in the afternoon when the tour buses bounce. But for a lit experience, go at night! Fushimi Inari hack: skip the small entrance gates, hit up the first opening, do a U-turn, and boom-no crowds and the dopest photos. Rent an electric bike 'cause public transport sucks and gets hella packed. Trust me, it's easy, safe, and mad fun. Bonus tip: Use Skyscanner's multi-city search to fly into Tokyo and out of Osaka-closest airport to Kyoto, saving you that Shinkansen ticket back to Tokyo. Epic travel hacks, fam!
Unfortunately most of Kyoto closes at 5 PM, sometimes even 4 PM. Fushimi Inari is the one thing that is open 24/7 so that's a good one to see at night. Most of the big shrines and temples will close much earlier.
Ooooo I never thought about going at night and bike sounds good. ☺
We also did the turning around at Fushimi Inari... but another really good tip is: go further up the hill nearly noone did it. So that we had a lot of space and really nice foto spots
First you shouldn’t skip hop on the street , it’s akward in Japan😅
Public transport is not great? I've been in Kyoto for a few months now and the public transport is very reliable and efficient. Yeah sometimes it's crowded but there's so many bus, subway, and train routes available and they are almost never late. Not that expensive either.
you missed the tip about not skipping through gion like a crazy gaijin
My legs are killing me when i was in Kyoto😅. I needed more than 1 day to explore. 😢
Enter the exit gates that’s a good tip 👍🏼
Renting a bike isn’t something I thought of but damn is that a good idea. Thank you!🙏
Public transport is not great? LOL. It is very easy to ride a bus and train in Kyoto if you have an internet. Just google and read
Something to add, you can still take great photos even if you wake up late.
I was there the day before yesterday, in the afternoon 😵💫😂, it was hell, in blazing sunshine ☀️🥵 and completely overcrowded. Had to stop the visit, it was unbearable. The train ride was also bad. The train from Kyoto was standing around in Kyoto at the station for 20 minutes without driving off. So much for the topic, the trains in Japan would always be on time😂
Kyoto combo
So true
Where do you rent electric bikes?
i wish i could add shorts to playlists cause this is some lifehack stuff
Tip 4: when You're taller than everyone, don't bounce around like a crazy person lol
