    #1 rules of water. 1. Dont go near it if you cant swim 2. Always assume there are alligators in freshwater as well as sharks in salt water. This goes for anywhere in the world.
    Im a floridian, heres a list of the most dangerous lakes
    Florida has over one million alligators in its waterways, and some of the most alligator-infested lakes include:
    Lake Okeechobee: Florida's largest freshwater lake, with an estimated population of 30,000 alligators. Biologists break the lake into different regions for their census counts.
    Lake Jesup: Home to one of the largest concentrations of alligators in Florida, with an estimated population of up to 13,000.
    Orange Lake: Has 2,732 alligators.

    In the first case the surf life guards watched as his blood poured into the sand? Maybe surf life guards should be given basic first aid training- it's no use doing CPR when someone has run out of blood. And why did it take more than 40 minutes for an ambulance to arrive??

    • @StarryWings2001
      @StarryWings2001 3 месяца назад +2

      Thought that was very weird too. When I went through life guard training, if someone has life threatening bleeding you focus on that first over CPR. Ambulance couldve been hindered by the crowd too, people seem to group up around someone in trouble when guards try to do their job. That or they were in too much shock to call them right away. Either way, too much time went by resulting in a fatality...

    So... The "Staff members"... Created this... By "FEEDING"... The fish... To attract the sharks... As they knew the jetty was popular with sharks... Making the sharks even more prone to attack... In anticipation to be feed... Ok... So... That really makes sense... We continue to hear of wild animals attacking more and more... All because they are SOO CUTE... To feed them... Until they are hungry and not being fed... Then it becomes "Their Final Affliction"... At least there won't be an end to the stories... As people will continue to feed the animals...

      Even so, the guy was swimming as the sun was going down, which is well known as shark feeding time. Dawn and dusk. Not only that but his was deliberately swimming right in the middle of their dinner- so he could check out the fish. If you swim in the ocean, guess what? THERE'S SHARKS IN THERE. ALWAYS. It's never "safe". You take the risk when you swim in the ocean but you can reduce that risk by not swimming at dawn or dusk- which he did- and not swimming in the areas where fish hang out during feeding time. He basically did everything you're not supposed to do to avoid shark attacks.

      @mommy2libras Yea... I used to scuba dive... One of my favorite places... Was "Vaca Cut Bridge"... Down in the Florida Keys... It is a small Bridge... With strong currents... Deep with nice walls where Lobster hang out... A budy and I went down one time... He wanted some Lobster for dinner... He was a professional fisherman... So... Unbeknownst to me... He started fishing... Caught one right away... He snared it and hung it on a line... IN THE WATER... When I was down catching bugs... I started to notice unusual shark Activities... Then I saw the BIGGEST Shark that I had ever seen... About the size of "JAWS"... He was prowling very slowly... In and out from under the bridge... I got the He ll out of their... When I surfaced... I told my buddy about all the sharks prowling around... That it was very unusual activity from any other time I had dove... We were getting ready to go... He then pulled up the dying bleeding fish he had caught... He said he caught it right after I went in... So... Yea... The Evening and dying fish thrashing around... Definitely atracks... SHARKS... In areas where there are not that many sharks... I couldn't imagine swimming where... THERE ARE LARGE NUMBER OF SHARKS... Especially ones that are known to attack humans... This is how "The Darwin Awards"... Continue to get winners...

      @@maxine3587 they aren't. Disneyland has no alligators. Disney World, on the other hand, does have alligators. And snakes. So don't be messing around in the pretty little areas of flowers and such because you don't know what might be living in it. The park employees do tend to keep most of the fire ants away from areas where people are but if you see a mound of orange dirt, even a tiny one, avoid at all costs unless you want to spend the rest of the day with throbbing feet. Here's a tip: in Florida, if there's water, an alligator is always a possibility. Even in something as small as a medium sized puddle or what looks like a few inches of water in a ditch. And there may be cottonmouths or one of a couple of types of rattlesnakes we have here. Those pygmy rattlers are small but can be dangerous, even deadly. Just watch out and use common sense. Alligators live in all the fresh and brackish water here but not necessarily all parts of all waterways. That's why if you find what looks like a gorgeous spot on a lake or river that is totally empty while everyplace else is crowded, there's a reason.

    “Killer shark?” Ridiculous! Sharks are natural predators. They kill to eat and humans refuse to accept that the ocean is the natural habitat for these magnificent creatures! Humans are the only true “killers” on this planet! Animals operate on instinct to eat when their survival is necessary. It’s very sad that this man was killed and a tragedy for him and his family. But when you go into the wild this is the chance you take. Would you walk into the African Plains where lions live? It’s a gamble to swim in the ocean. And if you go there, then you roll the dice and hope you win.

    This is why I stopped swimming like the Ocean and Lakes... there are far too many predatory animals lurking. I was nearly attacked by a Bull Shark off the shores of Mrytle Beach S.C back in 1993. The water was crystal clear but because of the speed and maneuverabliity of the shark I had no reaction time by the time I knew the shark was coming at me. It darted through the water so fast that I couldn't tell if it was a shark or a dolphin at first. I just froze in fear as it swan behind me and came in for the attack. It slammed into the back of my legs so hard it flipped me upside down with my head under the water and my feet out. The backs of my legs were bleeding because the teeth of she shark scraped against my calves. I swan as quickly as I could to a nearby sandbar too shallow for the shark to swim in... though it continued to circle me it was far enough away for me to assess my situation on how I was going to get out of the water without being attacked again... I just stood there bleeding and the backs of my legs felt liek they were burning. I looked down to see several gashes on my calves and I tryed calling out for help but there were no lifeguards on duty and my inlaws were too far away to hear me, I tried waving at them frantically and all they did was wave back. I watched the shark intensely as it darted back and fourth, clearly aggitated and egar to attack... after about 20 or 30 minutes it swam away. I took the opporatunity to swim as fast as I could back to shore. Blood was still pouring from my wounds and so I walked back to the rental house and my husband drove me to the hospital to get stitched up and to get treatment for any impending infection. After that happened I've never gotten back into the water and I never will. I'm not that pressed to swim that I'll swim in any body of water unless it's a swimming pool and I even get a phobia doing that. But I'll still swim in a pool.

    And there's negligence everywhere in the first and second story on top of that! • @mommy2libras
      @mommy2libras 3 месяца назад

      Dude, being in Florida is the warning. Guess what? There's alligators in the water here. Every fresh water- lake, river, streams, creeks, ditches, big puddles, ponds, those retention ponds they put in at apartment complex es and office buildings. Everywhere. And those ponds at the Disney properties aren't meant for swimming or wading. They're gross and kind of muddy and have algae everywhere. Who lets their kid play in something like that? They don't even look appealing. It's basically a hole with muddy water and crap floating in it and they didn't question why they were the only folks letting their kids play in that? They generally smell not nice, either. I mean, we shouldn't have to put signs everywhere to tell folks to use common sense.
