My main problem with this episode is Krillin's insurance fraud isn't really insurance- he died, IN SPACE. Sure, he was brought back to life, but unless there's some return clause for that eventuality, he fulfilled the terms of the agreement. And that the insurance company paid out means some adjuster got enough evidence to go "yup, dead, out in space" and had that check sent out. Now, there could be a question about "Juan", but that wouldn't be insurance fraud, but some identity issue (which are typically misdemeanors). And at no point should he have to pay it back- he died. That's what the insurance was for.
In the actual show, the whole Krillin girlfriend was just a subplot. The main story was about Garlic Jr. coming back, beating up Mr. Popo and Kami, and spreading kind of a vampire virus which infected pretty much everyone. It was up to Gohan to save step up and save the day. Honestly though it was kind of weird. The whole Garlic Jr. Dead Zone movie was kind of pre Vegeta and this is post Namek Gohan. He really shouldn't have had any trouble with Garlic Jr. and the whole arc just felt like filler.
Since you saw The Dead Zone movie, you probably recognized the little imp. TFS decided to cut out most of his Return Filler arc, and remind everyone why Popo is to be Feared. Also, in the original, Maron wasn’t a government agent, just a ditzy gold digger. In both cases, Krillin learned the hard way about looking for substance before form. Don’t worry about him for long; his true love is coming soon (minor spoiler).
Considering that Chi Chi guilt tripped Goku into marrying her based on a misunderstanding from when they were both children, combined with how overbearing she is with Gohan, I don't have a lot of sympathy for her.
She didnt guilt-trip him, she thought Goku was breaking the promise on purpose (and Chichi took the promise dead serious cause she's just as sheltered and weird as Goku - the dub just kinda removes that aspect of her chara) When sge realized it was a misunderstanding, she was sad, but not forcing him to do anything, Goku went "welp, a promise's a promise" all on his own
Goku spent a year of season 1 dead, was in the hospital for, like, a week, then immediately took off for Namek. Chichi is just happy that GOHAN is back in the house, after being kidnaped by Goku's old nemisis.
I try not to cuss, but it needs to be explained just what happened with Garlic Jr at the end. Lord Popo was once a being known as the Demon Lord Dumplin, a being beyond all understanding, with power beyond measure. He eventually semi-retired to work on the Lookout, watching over the Earth and general history involving it and the Z Fighters. But during his days as a member of the Time Patrol, he was nigh unstoppable (unless the boys from Team Four Star were allowed to take the wheel for a bit, in which case he would be forced to play by the game rules and was thus able to lose fights). One of his ultimate techniques was a combination attack known only as "The Fuckbox". When he banished/absorbed Garlic Jr, he was sending him *directly* into the Fuckbox, where he will be subjected to the whims of Fuckbox Jeff (who is actually a pretty friendly guy) until Lord Popo decides to let him back out. Odds are, that's not happening for a few eons. Lord Popo does not suffer fools lightly, and Garlic Jr is a quite the fool, seeing as he failed to realize just who he was dealing with.
RIP Zarbon, Episode 13-Episode 17 Every innuendo made in Season 3 shall be dedicated to the father of the craft, the elegant king of curious dialogue and uncertain double-meanings. Rest well, Great Zambino. Your legacy will live on in your memory. Now Season 3 awaits us, let us all come together and penetrate the episodes with great passion and fervor! So far you guys have been watching everything pretty much in order. A couple of jokes were out of place, but all in all I think you've been on track. One such joke that should make more sense now was at the end of the Garlic Jr's movie Dead Zone, where it turns out Krillin was just telling the story as a movie pitch to Nappa. Episode 31 has the rest of the context. Krillin is broke and living at Kame House due to Marron taking all of his money and putting him half a million in debt, while Nappa is alive and well as a producer in Hollywood and pretty much screws him out of the movie deal. Meanwhile Garlic Jr shows up for the intended filler arc that was meant to take place between Season 2 and 3, but... Well, he crossed Popo. The pecking order is to be respected. Makes one wonder if Mr. Popo booted Kami out of the Lookout to make sure Garlic Jr wouldn't go after him during that little skirmish? Mr. Popo is a horrifying being, but he kinda likes Kami and would rather him be safe. After all, the whole idea to bring back Goku's friends could have just an elaborate excuse to get Kami back, seeing as Mr. Popo wouldn't have even bothered telling the group if he didn't care at all. So, we are now at a crossroads! Do we move forward into Season 3, or do we take a break and start knocking off movies and specials? There are a few, such as the Cooler movie, Kai 2, and the other Bardock special. Though I think in the case of Cooler, the exact timing is still a couple episodes out? I don't have an episode guide on hand. I said it before and I'll say it again: please hold off on History of Trunks specifically. Most people who react to TFS have seen Dragon Ball Z so it doesn't matter as much, but since you are going in blind, the timing of the reveals become kind of important to the narrative.
Garlic actually was the next villain in the DBZ series but it only lasted a few episodes. He was kind of a filler villain between Freiza and the next big bad.
I barely started the video. Them: "We're gonna find out who the new villain is, find out what happened to Goku..." Me: "HA!" Ok, now that I'm done, some things to throw out there. 1. Yeah, this was a 10 episode filler saga, completely non-canon to the actual series that aired while they were still waiting for the manga to pull ahead into the next arc. TFS decided to condense into a Krillin-centric episode and make the saga's titular villain, Garlic Jr, a one-off gag. 2. Obviously, Maron (spelled with 1 R, that's important) was not a government official in the original. Again, completely non-canon, but she was a bit of an airhead who genuinely loved Krillin, but...was also very quick and easy to move on to the next guy. She did have a small appearance in a later episode, but it was basically only so she could be told that Krillin moved on and she took off with some other beach hunk. 3. I know you guys have already seen Revenge of Cooler (I can see it hiding in your Patreon) so good to go there, but some others for y'all, now that you've hit this point: Kai Abridged Episodes 2 and 2.9. *Technically,* 2.9 didn't come out until after episode 60, but it was originally under the guise of Episode 3 and was an April Fool's joke. That said, it's actually a really fun take on this episode, 31, in particular, and is a completely safe viewing. It's also really different from the rest of TeamFourStar's work, as it's basically a run of "Making something that's enjoyable while still breaking all of our typical rules." Other than the Kai Abridged, there's also "Episode of Bardock" that, through clever writing, takes places between episodes 30 and 32, so I recommend throwing that in the pre-episode 32 watch as well. With that all said, glad you guys are enjoying it and seemed to get a good laugh out of the Tuna joke, look forward to the next one.
If you want to see an Abridged version of what actually happened to Garlic Jr., watch DBZA Kai 2.9. It was originally uploaded as an April Fool's Day joke, but it almost feels like a lost episode
The Garlic Jr. arc in the original show was all filler, and not even good filler, and this episode was TFS taking that ark and mining it for the the funniest parts. They very well could have just skipped this part, but they wanted to at least get some humor mileage and a true slice of life episode out of the material, since the upcoming arc really doesn't slow down or stop for a long time once it gets going. They were also planting the seed for some potential future jokes, but since they stopped after season 3, they never really got to the point of those seeds paying off. The one thing I do really appreciate from this episode is the reveal of Krillin's surname as Sanchez.
This episode was basically a fakeout for what was a short filler in the original. Since they didn't feel like doing the Garlic Jr. Arc, they decided to just let Popo handle it, to hilarious effect XD
Garlic JR is filler, so they wanted to just get past it. And it was a great opportunity to focus on Krillin too. But there's a standalone ep of the filler. I'd recommend watching it before season 3 really picks up.
So a quick explanation of what this episode is in the real show. There is a short filler arc after the Freeza saga where Garlic Jr comes back and the heroes of earth have to fight him without Goku there. During this arc Marron is Krillin's girlfriend. This is all show original and is not cannon to the main story. A one jokes you missed due to lacking context: there is an actual episode where Turtle tells Krillin to get Marron a giant pearl, so he and Gohan go and do that.
"Do you have any idea what they do to guys like you." I was like, bitch do you have any idea that the guy you are talking to can destroy the entire planet with a sneeze. Krillen could have easily kept that money. There is no prison strong enough to hold him and their is no government agent powerful enough to catch him.
Garlic Jr. arc was a 8 episodes filler arc...it's a sequel to the movie "Dead Zone" . TFS decided to pretty much skip the entire arc, since it was a filler arc, by making Garlic Jr. being defeated by Popo (which obviously is not what really happens in the original show ahah) . Next episode the new arc really starts!!
This one is probably the most changed episode from the source material. First of all, this was a filler arc. Yes, Maron was Krillin's girlfriend, except of course, she only loved him for his money, so they quickly broke up (DBZA never gets to this point, but eventually, Krillin gets married and has a daughter named Maron). In the anime, Garlic Jr. was much more of a threat. When he arrived on the lookout, he immediately shrank and imprisoned Kami and Mr. Popo in these little glass bottles. Then he released the Black Water Mist, which was this black gas that turned people who breathed it into these weird vampire...zombie...hybrid...things that sought to bite other people. Anyone bitten by one becomes like them. Most of the world was taken over, including most of the Z Fighters, except for Piccolo, Krillin, and Gohan. At the end of the arc, there's a big battle on the lookout and Gohan sends Garlic Jr. back to the Dead Zone.
in the original show chichi's priority is gohan first and then goku is second. as long as gohan is with her, chichi doesn't show to much sympathy for goku because she blames goku for being a "bad influence" on gohan. chichi rejects gohan from doing any fighting or being involved in being a savior to the planet.
Garlic Jr was a filler villain. I think TFS did a second take of the episode with the actual plotline of the arc included. Maron was a filler character as well and she was quite the bimbo with the personality of a soggy cardboard box as opposed to the mildly corrupt government agent she is here. I also wanna say from here on out, while the Krillin owned count persists, Yamcha actually becomes more of the butt end of put down jokes. Krillin still has his fumbles, but the shift in who is respected more changes. They also start taking digs at everyone else to an extant so it feels less like Krillin is being bullied constantly. Even though some has almost always been nice to him like Goku and Gohan.
I did not remember anything that happened in this episode. Not Marron, or Garlic Junior. I assure you, none of this relates to the big W Krillin will eventually get that I've been talking about. I think this episode was purely meant to be an intro for the Dead Zone movie, because other then that, this pretty much felt more like just pre-season filler.
I think your going to really like the next main villain. He is awesome in the actual show and he in the abridged series he is one of the best characters. TeamFourStar does him so well.
TFS kinda pretended to begin the little filler saga of Garlic Jr.'s return, but instead they didn't cause probably noone was gonna care much about it. In the original Garlic Jr. comes back and infects every person on Earth to be some sort of demons (hence the Yamcha biting Piccolo scene) so there is Gohan, Piccolo and Krillin who fight them and it pretty much ends like the movie. Also Krillin dating Maron was pretty much how it looked, her just taking advantage of his money, money I have no idea where they came from.
This whole ep is just joke and kindly skip the garlic Jr arc with include the subplot with krillin and Maron. If y'all want, I could share the actual arc via anywhere. Not a lot of fans like it mostly cuz its filler, but I highly recommend it. It's only 9 eps and piccolo, Gohan and krillin are the main focus ( if y'all dug they characters) without Goku involved. It's really underrated.
The Garlic Jr. stuff is filler, the Abridged people wanted to move on to Season 4 and so had Mr. Popo eat them instead of dedicating lots of episodes to it. To explain what fillers are: There's a thing in anime called filler episodes, where the anime catches up to the source material, like the Game of Thrones show did with the books. But in the world of anime, instead of continuing the story how they want and not how the creator may do it in the future; the people in charge of the anime pull episodes out of their butt designed to give the source material time to make more content that will one day be in the anime as the creator intends.
Filler can also just be stuff where nothing important to the plot happens. It can also be official to the series. Dragon Ball is honestly the only series I know of where filler isn't considered canon, which is weird since DB filler can even be referenced later on (the episode where Goku and Piccolo learn to drive comes to mind) so clearly it had to have happened. Anime going a different way than the corresponding manga can lead to some great stuff. The original Fullmetal Alchemist anime had a completely different ending than the manga, which wasn't finished yet, and it was great.
If you two want. You can watch dragon ball Kai 1 and 2 :) definitely worth watching for a recap of that season. I wouldn't watch 2.9 or 3 just yet. Well you can actually watch 2.9 as well too lol didn't realize it until now

I can’t see your reaction to episode 32 it says the video is private
We add videos to the playlist and have them schedule for release on Sundays and Wednesdays. And have early ad-free access on patreon. Just release 4 more on there 😅
Ahh yess, the useless Garlic Jr arc...thanks you, Dark Lord Popo for sending Garlic Jr away🙌🏾😌
This is proably best time to watch DBZA Kai 2.9 since it is also dealing with this moment.
Replying to move this to the top
Hope me also replying helps do that👍
In the actual show, the whole Krillin girlfriend was just a subplot.
To pronounce the planet Goku put these two words together Yar like pirate and draft. Be like a chilly Pirate
Next time on Dragon Ball Z Abridged
Vegeta: I'm back Bitches!
Considering that Chi Chi guilt tripped Goku into marrying her based on a misunderstanding from when they were both children, combined with how overbearing she is with Gohan, I don't have a lot of sympathy for her.
She didnt guilt-trip him, she thought Goku was breaking the promise on purpose (and Chichi took the promise dead serious cause she's just as sheltered and weird as Goku - the dub just kinda removes that aspect of her chara)
When sge realized it was a misunderstanding, she was sad, but not forcing him to do anything, Goku went "welp, a promise's a promise" all on his own
are you guys gonna survive the laughter exposition this season?
5 more episodes until greatness😁 if you know, you know
"Oh, but my heart is pure..."
I wanna, I wanna, I wanna, I wanna!
Cat loves food yeah yeah yeah
Considering Krillan DID die off planet, whether he was resurrected or not, he should be paid out on the insurance.
not quite. it shud be paid to the named next of kin... which krillin doesn't have. he made up he has a brother to get paid
This episode was really funny and good especially the end with Mr.Popo but I wish we got some more on what happened to Goku
True. We are anxious to see what has happened to Goku 😅
FYI, you guys should avoid watching the season 3 opening (which starts on episode 32) untill you get to episode 37.
Funny thing is if Krillin went to prison he would be the prison boss.
Season 2 has an abridged of the abridged. Just like season 1. Should check it out.
Oh by the way, DBZ Abridged Cooler’s Revenge and The Return of Cooler Movies are next.
Season 3 (4) officially now begins. Prepare for Perfection™.
Can’t wait 😁
RIP Zarbon, Episode 13-Episode 17
Every innuendo made in Season 3 shall be dedicated to the father of the craft, the elegant king of curious dialogue and uncertain double-meanings.
I always saw the Garlic Jr. saga as the initial transition to Gohan becoming the protector of Earth over Goku.
I want to challenge this, but I assume you said it this way to avoid spoilers.
Wah don't forget to watch their DBZ Kai Abridged episode after each season!
We totally forgot to do the Kai but will get to them next 😅
I barely started the video.
Them: "We're gonna find out who the new villain is, find out what happened to Goku..."
Me: "HA!"
Ok, now that I'm done, some things to throw out there.
I can't wait for you to see trunks. You're gonna love him.
Oh, believe me. ChiChi's fine with Goku being away. I mean, really. Does anyone think Goku makes daily life EASIER for anyone?
This episode was basically a fakeout for what was a short filler in the original. Since they didn't feel like doing the Garlic Jr. Arc, they decided to just let Popo handle it, to hilarious effect XD
Garlic JR is filler, so they wanted to just get past it. And it was a great opportunity to focus on Krillin too. But there's a standalone ep of the filler. I'd recommend watching it before season 3 really picks up.
Sunday is now complete :)
IIRC, Krillin manage to get a date with Marron, nothing else. AND then She left him for bigger dudes WITH MONEY and what not.
There is no Garlic Jr. Saga, moving on...
Being real, prison would not be a bad place for Krillin. He's one of the strongest people on earth. He could own the joint if he really wanted to.
"Do you have any idea what they do to guys like you."
I was like, bitch do you have any idea that the guy you are talking to can destroy the entire planet with a sneeze. Krillen could have easily kept that money. There is no prison strong enough to hold him and their is no government agent powerful enough to catch him.
We met our new villain...
And there he goes...
In the Original episode Marron called Chi Chi old and she was about to beat Marron ass. All of them had to hold her back
Maron. Marron's not born yet.
No. Not killed. Killing suggests mercy.
Popo is not merciful...
Popo is savage 😨
Good thing is, our boy Krillin will get a reaaaaaaaly good woman as a wife. Probably most beloved by fandom waifu. So yeah, there's karma.
If only Marron was canon.
Don’t worry krillin will find love and be the luckiest guy in anime history haha
11:41
Oh S**t… If you pause it, you have a Black and White Pokeball!
😳
On a side note… Marion was a bitch, Krillin deserves better!
Maru was undoubtedly Krillin's worst girlfriend in the original anime. She did flirt with Yancha, only Bulma always separated them.
Garlic Jr. arc was a 8 episodes filler arc...it's a sequel to the movie "Dead Zone" . TFS decided to pretty much skip the entire arc, since it was a filler arc, by making Garlic Jr. being defeated by Popo (which obviously is not what really happens in the original show ahah) . Next episode the new arc really starts!!
I wonder how Popo would have fared. I mean, he's obviously not really the overlord he is in the abridged, but he's still pretty strong in canon.
beating the tuna😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱
I love the video guys! you guys should watch the Dragon Ball Abridged Broly movie!!!
7:40 At some point she said "Anus serré" in French it means "tight anus" ngl I'm proud of being french just for that lol
And remember that restaurant for later!
Haha she described them as being "very uptight"
Yeah, he knows. He laughed at the joke.
@@SublimelyGreen Still wanted to point that out
@@BJGvideos Yeah i noticed that too lol
Next you gotta watch The History Of Trunks Movie for the next episode to make sense
What? That movie shouldn't be watched until WAY later. Heck it would outright spoil a bunch of things for the next few episodes.
This episode was taken from a filler arc involving Garlic Jr. Really had nothing to do with the rest of the series.
in the original show chichi's priority is gohan first and then goku is second. as long as gohan is with her, chichi doesn't show to much sympathy for goku because she blames goku for being a "bad influence" on gohan. chichi rejects gohan from doing any fighting or being involved in being a savior to the planet.
It is true no one screws yamcha but life and life has a 15 inch hard one and life doesn't take it easy
Krillin is the biggie simp ever lol.
When you finish this series you have to watch devilartemis cell vs series its still going on to this very day
In the original show krillien is crying underneath the glasses.
Well in the original Marron is a good person. She is a airhead but still a good person.
This takes place after the movie though.
It does kinda relate to Krillin's eventual big win...sort of. Compare how he talks about the two of them.
@@BJGvideos You're right, there are... connecting themes.
Agree on foreshadow?
I think your going to really like the next main villain. He is awesome in the actual show and he in the abridged series he is one of the best characters. TeamFourStar does him so well.
Yeah but don’t expect to see him for a while
TFS kinda pretended to begin the little filler saga of Garlic Jr.'s return, but instead they didn't cause probably noone was gonna care much about it.
There is a new death battle video 8 think you guys would like
It's Asta vs Deku
This whole ep is just joke and kindly skip the garlic Jr arc with include the subplot with krillin and Maron. If y'all want, I could share the actual arc via anywhere. Not a lot of fans like it mostly cuz its filler, but I highly recommend it. It's only 9 eps and piccolo, Gohan and krillin are the main focus ( if y'all dug they characters) without Goku involved. It's really underrated.
tfs just casually skipping the entire filler garlic junior blackwater mist arc lol
The Garlic Jr. stuff is filler, the Abridged people wanted to move on to Season 4 and so had Mr. Popo eat them instead of dedicating lots of episodes to it. To explain what fillers are:
There's a thing in anime called filler episodes, where the anime catches up to the source material, like the Game of Thrones show did with the books.
Well you can actually watch 2.9 as well too lol didn't realize it until now
Nah chi chi actually just know how goku is and never stop him from his dream but she sure do nag him though
