  • Saunas have been found to have huge health benefits, but many people dislike using them. More recently Sauna domes and sauna bags have been developed that have many of the same health benefits. People who hate traditional saunas find them far more enjoyable to use. Your head is out of the heat. Additionally, they are far cheaper to buy and to run, so you can have one at home. Bunny has found using them regularly has significantly reduced her stiffness, increased her energy levels, improved her sleep, her circulation, her complexion, and her mood. Research shows saunas reduce the risk of Alzheimer’s and Dementia by 60-66% (with 4-7 saunas per week), they reduce the stroke risk by 40% if used with this frequency too. The hypertension risk is lowered by 46% with this level of use and strokes reduced by 40%. Sudden cardiac death comes down by 63% when used at the same frequency. They reduce low level inflammation and highly effective for detoxing too. Are sauna domes and bags as good for your health as traditional saunas? Bunny talks to Dr Sarah Myhill who advocates their use and has conducted trials with them.

Fantastic video, Bunny. I had a girls weekend with my daughters and we went to a spa and did hot baths and sauna along with cold plunge. I said to them how it’s a shame as a society we don’t place more importance on body maintenance. These things are considered luxuries when really it should be available to everyone as a basic need. Definitely checking into getting a sauna dome. Thank you so much, love from Texas 🌿🧡

I prefer the dome as you feel freer in it when it’s hot but my daughter prefers the blanket. It does seem like the dome gets marginally hotter and you can get them with ordinary infrared lights built in too which apparently boosts collagen production.🐇

Now this is interesting, Bunny. I'm 58, and have been an active, almost fulltime gardener all my adult life, until I had a traumatic injury to the neck, 3 years ago. It was life-changing, leaving me with constant and terrible pain, devastating and chronic migraines, and stopping me from gardening, except for about ten minutes at eye-level! (Limiting!!!!) My top NZ Pain and Sports Medicine Specialist, has researched and written books on the brain connection with pain and injury, and he immediately set me to have a deep, hot bath every day, for twenty minutes, followed by ten minutes of lying down, resting. Since my mother and grandmother had dementia as old ladies, he said my terrible pain and migraines and the neck arthritis I was left with after my accident, added to any inherited risk I had, of developing dementia - BUT, if I had a long, hot bath 4 x a week or more, this would not only relieve some of the pain and inflammation for those few moments, but would also reduce the risk of developing dementia by 80%!!!!! Luckily, we have a huge, deep, old-fashioned claw-foot bath, which I can float in. It took some getting used to hot baths, but you do acclimatise, and I really think that, even if you haven't access to the infrared blankets or domes, or saunas, a good long, hot bath daily, will bring great health benefits....... Thanks so much for your very useful videos, Bunny! It's like conferring with a very experienced and clever colleague!! Cheers from Janette, at www.lambhillgarden.com

    Hello Buddy
    I always enjoy your videos.
This one is of real interest to me, for myself and for my son in law.
He was diagnosed with luchimia a few months ago.
We are South African and medical treatment is very expensive and old fashioned. So the younger generation do a lot of research.
They have decided to go the Ozone therapy way, intravenous vitamins, Browns gas and supplements.
    Also a total organic diet.
He is an industrial designer and is going to build something to do with infrared, haven't got the details.
They are really making a study of the terrible problem.
    He also gets blood transfusions.
They have bought an ozone machine and use it daily and he says after a few weeks he can feel the difference.
I live in the UK and they are treating me with an ozone machine.
The hospital they went to wear so ignorant that they said if he doesn't have chemo, they wouldn't give him blood transfusions, luckily they found another hospital.
In the beginning after the shock of the news I was also a bit sceptical, but with RUclips I found a lot of info and am looking forward to my machine.
Ozone therapy isn't a new therapy and Germany, US, Israel and probably many eastern European countries it has been used for many years.
After the second covert19 shot I felt awful and would fall asleep sitting in the sitting room, not at all my way, I'm 71 and just before this shot I still made a no dig bed.
A month after the shot, I got shingles and thought I was going to die. That was last September and have not recovered. All the GP wants to do is put me on antidepressants.
Ozone therapy is used in the beauty industry and many people think it is just for this purpose.
It is also used for lyme disease with great success.
I am going to look into the sauna blanket, because the medical people are so stuck in their ways and I really can't go on sleeping my life away.
I hope you recover from all your problems and please use supplements, specially vit d.
    God bless

My husband really likes saunas, and has access to both infrared booths and traditional saunas through his gym membership here in California. It's not something I've thought about doing, but as I get older the cold bothers me more and more. Dr. Myhill had some interesting points. Thank you for sharing the information. My late father always stressed that living long was only good if you could function well in good health. I've enjoyed your videos over the year, and appreciated the chance to share a bit about our native plants and climate here on the other side of the world. Happy Christmas to you and your family, Bunny, and best wishes for a healthy and happy New Year. :)

Bunny, long time since I have commented, I try not to watch any MD info on the internet, but I made an exception for you. I was wondering if you were going to mention Lyme disease, and that is why I am commenting. I had a decade or more of untreated Lyme from age late 30's on, and did not get treated for it until I was 50 yrs old. So, I did hot tub and sauna to feel better after the meds were done because I was not well for so long, and it is one of the things that made me feel better. I don't know all the medical theory on it, just that Lyme is bacterial and thrives when your body is cold. Some places in Europe were using heat to kill it, and I don't know what happened with that. I did not do this while I was taking the meds, and think someone should ask a doctor on that. I did it for three months, but now after listening here I am missing it! And very inspired to try again, I do get sauna at my health club so it is not a problem.

    • @bunnyguinness
      @bunnyguinness  Год назад +1

You wrap yourself in a towelling bag inside the blanket, which is easy to wash. When the bag is cool you wipe it down with something like diluted tea tree oil or a surface spray product. Not sure about contraindications with hot flushes, but I would use one at a low heat level initial just to make sure. The dome you use while naked and then wipe down after. Hope this helps! 🐇
