The Church is filled with wonderful examples of holiness and sainthood, and they can act as guides for us on our way to Heaven. But a lot of the time, we look at these great saints and think, “I could never be like them,” when in fact, sanctity is more accessible to us right now than we could ever even imagine. We know we should be striving to be saints, but what does that look like for people like you and me?
Today, Fr. Mike shares how we can work towards sainthood every day, without feeling like we’re chasing an impossible dream.

Except Jesus Christ. E.g Mary told the apostles firmly and over and over again that Jesus would rise on the 3rd day after the brutal death of Jesus. All the apostles gave up, they did not believe that Jesus would rise until when Jesus rose from the death. Mary knew and knows Jesus more than any other human being

St Therese of Lisieux did exactly this. That's she's the perfect doctor of the church for our days
I remember reading that St. Therese said because she did not do her own will during her lifetime, God will deny her nothing in heaven🌹St. Therese pray for us!
Yes, her "Little Way" of
a) Recognizing the darkness of our own brokenness
b) Trying to be holy AND
c) Trusting Jesus completely
helped her become a Saint, and 1 of the 4 female Doctors of The Church.

" We ought never give up, no matter how old we are or what our past is, if we are alive, God is SO MERCIFUL, we can still become Saints.

"To do God's will as He wills it" is a powerful commitment, but one commits because of love. There will be many challenges, our world would turn up side down, but as we go through the experiences, we will see the miracles of God's work. To me, a Saint is someone who continues to give, to help others, when others stop.
“You couldn't” win the big things, because you “didn't want to” win the small things. Saint Escriva.
In the little things, tasks, is the way to achive great things. most of the time we just give God our " merely enough" instead of our best, how much is He worth?
Fr. Benedict was wise. I loved his talks on EWTN. You never know who càn bring you closer to God. Gods Will be done on all our lives.

If you are a father provide for the family,. If you are a mother take care of your children and teach them values, etc Not all are called to do great things, it is reserved to a few. I receive it! I receive it in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and saviour! But also, leave no man (or woman) behind! Pax Christi to absolutely EVERYONE! This community=acts of the apostles-y. 😊 How good it is to encourage one another on the sojourn. Sweet like honey the word of my Lord is and good for food! If only all would/could eat of it. And yet we know they won’t listen to it/read it if you forward it to them. That’s why we must drink it all in to the dregs, soak it up like a sponge… then casually drop it in bite-size nibbles at the dinner table, in the car on the way to some place, etc. Effortlessly sanctifying a conversation that was starting to trend downward into idle/outright evil territory. Then: “that’s interesting, where do you always get all this information?”

Saying yes to God is soooooo much better than saying no to God, and saying yes to the devil! God is good all the time! God bless all of you, and the one person who gave a thumbs down. This was our motto for my youth group retreat earlier this month! It's a great line for the Bible and the number 1 way we should live.

Guess my story? I had an addiction, developed auditory hallucinations that i battled for months. I cried at 8 months when i began treatment because I knew i messed up and thought I made myself schizophrenic. Why couldn't I recognize i was ill and stopped the drugs? Well I have been recovering. I am not joking people. God made me a super empath. To the point that I am like telepathic. I can influence the future in my personal life in ways that are miracles. EVERYDAY! Ive decided I will become a social worker to use my divine gift for the benefit of others. GOD IS REAL!!!!! THE HOLY SPIRIT IS REAL!!!! I wish others can experience life like I do.

Hebrews 12:14 “… without holiness no one will see the Lord.” ALL are called to holiness. This is not optional. While it seems impossible, we can obtain it through the Holy Spirit.

Once when I was 18 I ate some magic mushrooms and it was if I could ask God any questions I wanted. I asked many and got answers. Then I figured why not ask THE question? Something like "is everything going to be ok?" or "does good win in the end of my life?" I was staring up at the stars while asking this question and God took my through the stars themselves, through space for infinity in search of the answer to this question. Upon reaching my destination I was immediately back in my seat with only a resounding glowing feeling in my chest. The feeling was pure love and from that feeling I knew the answer was yes.
Watching this video felt a lot like that moment. As if I once again remembered or realized that I'm already at the party, or that I'm already made perfect through christ. All that is left is simply to act on that knowledge and not lose the faith. I believe this is a chieved through discipline and even brief daily prayer to call God's spirit back to you. That's it. That's all.

I believe that this ability is only able to exist when you never fixate on selfish intentions such as trying to use it for flirting. Just be grateful, look at the beautiful world as if God is watching through your eyes. Be objective, and try to help others. I pray in solitude but i also believe I make prayers everytime I think for others in their goodwill. 😃😃
There are many ways.....like you can be far from perfect, a wayward sinner, then in one moment, give your life for someone else so they can live (in a war zone, or concentration camp for eg.)..............or, you can spend your life in prayer, extreme fasting and service to the poor (eg. Saints Catherine of Siena, Clare and Francis of Assisi...)

Many people claim to be a Christian.....but never submit their lives to God. In James chapter 4 , it is written: "Humble yourself before the Lord and He will lift you up."
As God lifts you up He will also bless you with the Holy Spirit.
You will feel stronger..💪...and have a deep conviction of what is right and wrong. In both the Old and New Testaments God declared, " be Holy because I am Holy.". Holiness is commanded by God, ......but are we obeying?????😢😢😢
Jesus said, that we need to "teach them to obey."'. Who is the Them.... that's each other...yes, we are our brothers keeper.

Father Mike: I think I have found the subject and title of my next short story: The difficulty in becoming a saint. I have known many fine admirable people in my life. ...but saints? Not really, for the simple reason that we are deeply flawed and this is not what would expect from a saint. We are materialistic, selfish, petty... It is a constant struggle to rise above our contemptuous flaws. Maybe recognizing them and wrestling with them puts on the road to sainthood, even if we don't achieve this level.
St. Therese of the Child Jesus taught that we are to do little things with great love. So it is as you suggest, Father: to say "Yes" to God and do His Will, as He wills it, in our lives, where we are. (St. Therese lived in a convent all her short life and would have not been known at all were it not for the Autobiography she wrote under obedience "The Story of a Soul" ). God bless you, Father! Saying yes to God doesn't mean to say something, but to do things. You do make it sound easy, while it is extremely difficult to do all these things God asks us to do.
