On the other hand some Chinese firms work 996 (9am to 9pm six days a week (72 hour work week)). I'm sure their employees would love a 9-5 and a 5 day week.
I WFH and some days I only have a few meetings, I truly think it's the way to go. Some days you want to go hard and be a hard worker, other days you want to chill back and watch Netflix. The interesting part? I'm way more productive working this way, I meet deadlines much easier, and my QoL is way higher. I'm not sure how this will translate into office jobs, but for me this is a glimpse into what the future of working should look like, and I'm incredibly privilleged to be apart of it. If I had to guess, it'd be nice if meetings could still be scheduled but you can go into the office whenever you want around those times. A hybrid role sounds good on paper, but businesses are way too inflexible with "In 2/3 days, out 2/3." Human productivity naturally ebbs and flows. As long as the deadlines you set are being met, who honestly cares about "maximizing productivity", being on time is what matters.
Ppl talking about how it boosts productivity fail to realise that's a terrible goal to start with. Don't solely aim for boosting productivity. Aim for a sustainable work env where people aren't forced to take sick days just to relax
No. My first job was retail working at a grocery store and Friday Saturday and Sunday are the only days we are slammed with lots of people because that’s when all the 9 to 5 workers have time and money to buy things and what I learned is we need to spread it out like butter on bread, where people have time and money to buy things outside of the weekends. Because there are seven days a week and most people only have two days to go out and buy things then there is something broke in that cycle. I don’t like to go out on Friday, Saturday or Sundays because everywhere I go there’s too many people, I like to go on a weekday when it’s not so crowded they need to change the work week. It’s too crowded on the weekends.
Hitler actually improved people's working conditions. The Germans realized that content workers are more productive. Hitler also introduced the "Kraft durch Freude" program - "Strength through Joy" , to help the workers. It's the Americans who abuse their workers to this day.

Glory to the Party!
8 am to 4 pm.
7 am to 3pm
These are better than the 9 am to 5 pm timeline.
GM has 6:30 to 2:30 because of the shifts, maybe other manufacturers too

Calling it a scam is pretty dumb, considering that he said people should work those hours instead of the typical 15 hours every day in that time

9-5? Try our hours. Normally, 7am to 12am. And any off days are usually travel days.

Henry Ford? You mean the guy who was good friends with Hitler? Makes sense.
Hitler actually improved people's working conditions. The Germans realized that content workers are more productive. Hitler also introduced the "Kraft durch Freude" program - "Strength through Joy" , to help the workers.
