    Very interesting about play. For all infant humans early relations with adults have such high survival importance (not about play) it is understandable that "as if" relational play, if it develops at all, can be overwhelmed by early unresolved issues/feelings.

    Although I'm cognizant of Freud's Drive theories, I find Object Relation Theory far more useful for recovery from dysfunctional childhood families, and self understanding, not to deny basic sexual instincts. I wonder what Dr. Solms' thinks of object relation theory.
