The 281C is more rare than the 281E. Between 1999-2004 a total of 29 Saleen Cobra's were built only being in 03 and 04. In that same time frame of 1999-2004 a total of 74 Extreme's were built. 42 coupes and 32 convertibles. The 281C is the rarest saleen built with some being 1 of 1 in some colors. You could also make a lot more power in the Cobra due to it having the 4.6 4v with forged internals and the extreme only having a 4.6 2v that could not make as much power.

Ed Cain I used 99-04 as the time frame bracket that the new edges we’re made. The E was produced one more year than the Saleen Cobra. The E was 02-04 where the Cobra was 03/04. Cobra still remains the most rare Saleen even though the Extreme cost more and holds more value
Extremes have center exhaust but also regular supercharged S281 made in 2004 only Those r the only models that came with center exhaust. I have one too
