I was wandering around our local mall a few weeks ago and came across the Toys "R" Us section in one of the anchor stores; I think it was a Macy's. It was both kinda cool, and sad 😥
That’s the Dixie Square Mall. The reason why the mall is so trashed and destroyed is because it was used in a scene in Blues Brothers where there’s a car chase in the mall, Director John Landis rented it for 8 weeks just to film the car chase scene. the mall actually became abandoned in 1978 and has since been demolished.
