I was in the same position and I just got my braces on at 24 😅 best piece of advice I can give would be to work as an assistant in an orthodontic clinic to get big discounts on treatment (if your boss is kind enough to include it in the contract like mine did lol)
Ties are usually not involved with that. Your orthodontist most likely will do something like a spring between the two brackets of the teeth that are crossed over. The only ties that shift teeth are power chains that bring your teeth together.
You don’t just get infinity Ties, power chains , metal chains, or double ties. It just depends on the state of your teeth. The orthodontist will do any (or all) of them depending on what you need. (Totally didn’t ask for infinity ties when I first started braces..)
I hate the metal ties so much. Also, my ortho doesn’t allow having 3 diff colors or even crosses, or at least they never talk about them and nobody ever leaves with them
Braces scary story So when i was in 2nd grade i found out i have underbite so i needed braces and i got them and cried a little bit and i was like 7 or 8 years old then me my mom,dad,sister, and brother went to the fried chicken fest and i was eating chicken and my mom and dad were talking to an adult andthe food got caught in a wire from my braces and i started choking on it and no one noticed me or helped me so i just sat choking then sinceno one would help me i used my hand to grab the food a little so i could spit it out then i just start crying and my parents ask whats wrong and i say i was choking and to this day im still mad. LOVE YALL STAY SAFE❤❤❤❤
My next appointment is coming up really soon. I’ve got black bands now I kind of want to go dark green how do they look after 8 weeks and will they make my teeth look whiter ???

I have power chains on my upper teeth, when I first got them they hurt 💀
They forced on one bracket for me to have a metal tie but covered it with a single tie but if they get out they hurt so bad😭
maybe that tooth is crooked or needs extra help to rotate it in the correct direction ☺️
