I like the idea of a mega spin along with large, medium, and/or small projects. Maybe having separate prize pools for the three sizes would be nice too 😊
Spin-to-knit sounds good for January-there’s just too much already happening between now and new years. And that would catch us up to your unreleased patterns too. I love the idea of having a few different projects to use from the spun yarn, endless possibilities for same or complimentary yarns etc.
What about doing a split hem? You could maintain the look of the ribbing/design without having it pull in. You could even do the back hem portion slightly longer on your tunic which I think would look lovely. I think it would be great to wait until the new year & have multiple pattern options for the KAL. Sounds like it would make it more inclusive to people regarding their time and abilities
I love the idea of a spin along with choices. As a newbie spinner, I would love early information about the type of fiber/spin required so that I can source materials. I don’t have a large fiber stash yet, and would want plenty of time to order fiber and practice.😊
Definitely wait for the new year!!!!! Small medium large is great!!! Also, the new year will be here so soon and we can wait! 🎉❤ keep up the great work!!
For the person who doesn't like the pull in ribbed sweater look, I'm right there with you. I just make my ribbing a split hem. Easy to do regardless of whether the pattern is top down or bottom up. And I still go down a size or 2 for the ribbing because I don't like it to flair out either. 😃 I know, picky, picky, picky but hey, why not do the little added things that mean I will adore my handmade item instead of just liking it.
I was just thinking about the ribbing question #1...a broken rib on the bottom of the tunic would work nicely I think ,as it doesn't really draw in much and has the look of ribbing. She might want to swatch that and see what she thinks of that also.
7:57 about the brioche beginning of round - where it gets confusing for me is when you end with a sl1yo and the very next stitch is a sl1yo too (that’s the first stitch of the new round) and it’s because my BOR marker slips under that yo and makes it look wrong. I use a marker with a charm instead of a plain round marker, and wiggle it to make sure I know where my stitches are at, so it doesn’t move between stitches.
Thank you for addressing my question. I’ve been hesitant to try the Harlow Hat, but now I know that if I simply follow the pattern, you will lead me through my start of round fear. Thank you so much!
I say wait on the spin and kal! Mainly because I'm thinking selfishly and want to be included, but I'm holding off on purchasing fiber until my local fiber festival 😂 But regardless I'm sure it will be tons of fun and I can't wait to see all the inspiration!
I recently learned how to spin and just ordered a wheel and some fibre. I should be ready to go for a spin-a-long in January!!! I’ve been so excited hoping you would do another one and love the idea of different projects to choose from ❤
I'd vote to wait for the Mega Spin it to Knit it KAL. I feel like my fall/early winter knits are all booked up between KALs, gift knits, and trying to finish up some projects that were in my 2023 plans!
Does anyone know what that shawl (?) is that is draped on the back of Andrea's chair? When she stood up to grab her nostepinne (around 9:38), I was like OOH.
Ooo yay. I've been watching your videos all week. Getting some inspiration and got your Tinsel Mitts pattern last night! Love hearing you answer questions.
My opinion is that a spin-it-to-knit-it MAL would be better done in January, after all the holiday knitting and giving is over. As you said, there a many KAL/MALs going on right now and people are gearing up for Christmas. Plus, if you want to use a group of patterns, that could include both small and large spins. You could even make it a year-long MA and encourage more than one project.
I LOVE the idea of a mega spin along with a choose your adventure option. I'm a new spinner & new mom and not sure I'm ready for a sweater quantity, lol.
I'm so excited that I finished my vest and love it even more than when I cast it on from all stash yarns! Not sure I feel brave enough to show up on the hill at my first ever Fiber festival trip (aka, Rhinebeck), but it will definitely be coming in my luggage!
To the one who submitted the center pull ball-question: When I do a center pull ball I'm using a large potato masher from Ikea because it has a round handle and an eyelet on top so I can fasten the inside end of the yarn. This is completely fine to use for me until I find the perfect nostepinne ;) What I discovered as well is that windig the ball from a well-rested bobbin helps a lot keeping the yarn in check.
For the new spin-it-to-knit it, perhaps you could do it a little like a mystery KAL. For example, you could share JUST the yarn weight (fingering, DK, worsted), so folks could get started on the spinning. Or maybe share the yarn weight and SOME features the finished yarn might need -- the different yardages, for example, or the amount of color variation. What I find it that the spinning takes a lot longer than the knitting -- my current Weekender is going very fast, but combospinning the yarn took about four months, between the carding and drafting and spinning. So maybe give us a little bit of a head start?
For the love of all that is holy, the first answer should've been to just increase. Your hips and bust aren't the same size? Shock. Ribbing doesn't have to pull in if it's the right measurements. Everybody can benefit from ANY waist shaping. A-line fit makes everybody more comfy.

A mega spin it to knit it. Wait until after the major holidays and have something mega to get us through until spring!

The throw or shawl on the back of your chair in this segment (135) is beautiful but what is it exactly? Please and thank you.
I like your idea of spin to knit along with different sized projects. A choose your own adventure. 😊

I love the idea of having a group of patterns to choose for the spin it to knit it.🥰
I always leave the"bark" yarn in the back and the"burp" yarn in the front
A MEGA spin it to knit it sounds so fun! Different options would be great!
I like the idea of a mega spin it to knit it KAL …. #options ❤
I vote for after the new year so we can get by the holidays and gift knits. What's better than spinning and knitting in the middle of winter. :)
Hi Andrea!
I vote for the mega KAL.
Greetings from new Zealand!

Christmas knitting is the focus now. A big spin it to knit in January would be lovely after the rush of the holidays.

An empty prescription bottle works also to hand wind yarn. I put the end in the bottle with the lid on, then wind.

❤❤❤ The salad from your newsletter! We didn’t have pumpkin so we made a butternut squash version. Sooooo good for fall.
Posted the moment the clock struck midnight! Thank you for the content while I do some restless late nite knitting. ❤
Hair game on point today! ❤
Love the idea of a spin it to knit it!
I vote for January for the SAL/KAL also! I wanted to do the Attune but just didn’t finish spinning in time. 😢
A smaller option sounds exciting to me as a newer spinner. I vote for January Mega:)

Not a spinner, but a mega spin-to-knit sounds awesome! I don’t mind waiting so spinners can have that experience.

Just finished my Tesselated vest!! Loving it!! ❤
Curious about the wrap on the back of your chair? Is this a sneak peek of an upcoming pattern?
Me too! I spotted that, and was instantly curious.
Love the blouse/shirt you wore today? Where do you get that one??
Mega spin please!!
Where did you get your Nostepinne? I love the organic look of it.
I pin blocked the bottom of my Weekender out and it doesn't pull in very much.

wait a minute, is that a new shawl pattern behind you?!
