For anyone thinking of buying I would recommend just going with the premium edition. Unless you think you're not going to play FH5 a lot. Let's be honest though, if you're here you probably a Forza fiend. The premium edition is the best value, plus early access.

It's probably best to get something OP for stunts, or useful but very expensive (for example Shelby Daytona), because it will take some time before you accumulate enough CR to buy cars in whim. I'd go for Shelby Monaco if it makes it into game, if not, then maybe Ferrari 599XX Evo. I don't think Hoon RS200 will be very expensive, all Hoonigans in FH4 had reasonable autoshow prices.
FH4's DLCs were quite underwhelming, so I'm not biting into Premium. I am also more of a casual player - loved my time with FH3 and enjoyed FH4 enough to get the Standard Edition for FH5. If the DLCs will turn out good, I'll get them, otherwise I'll still have hundreds of hours of entertainment.
FH4 was the first time I had bought the premium version and I'm continuing that trend for FH5. I find it worth it simply because Horizon games are my most played games. There was no hesitation from me. When pre-orders went live, I went for it.

The Deluxe edition is clearly there to get people to buy the premium edition. It's a classic sales tactic, same goes for popcorn in a movie theater, the big one is much larger for not so much more money. That being said I'm still getting the premium.
I have two years of game pass ultimate. Used the vpn gold upgrade method so that cost £50 total, and I get good use out of it. So the premium add-ons bundle made most sense to me, bought that from the Iceland xbox store as for me in the UK made it £10 cheaper, so that worked out as £25.
You missed a critical part - “If you’re on Xbox One or PC you probably…” Obviously if you have a high end PC that equals or surpasses the Series consoles you know you’ll have good quality. It was just a quick generalization as it wasn’t a focal point of the edition comparison

This is the only sensible approach. Play it and see if you are really going to play it for a long time. Two months of Gamepass will still be way cheaper than buying the game outright and you'll know if the game is worth it by then.
In Canada the premium is $129.99. It's crazy expensive and as a 21 year old college student who's has some sense of money the standard edition is a must for me.

Yup... series x has to run at 30 fps for full visual fidelity in quality mode and performance mode doesn't even have 120 fps, which is a bit disappointing with how easy it is to run horizon 4 at high framerates on pc...
@@stevio2175 I have a 6800xt, i can play H4 @4k Ultra 190 frames per second average, You can get a decent pc for $400 and still hit 1080p 60fps at atleast medium settings with a ssd with pretty good load times even compared to the series s or x

Thanks for the overview. In the past I have always pre-ordered the physical Forza Ultimate editions, but as I currently have Gamepass ultimate until mid 2023, I think I'll go for the Premium add-ons pack. By the time my Gamepass runs out, a physical copy will be dirt cheap.

I bought the fh4 most expensive edition and was very happy with it. I played it for almost 4 years. Still loving it. So yeah, 110$ is totally worth it. 👌
The cheapest but best option would to get game pass for $10 dollars then get the premium bundle which is only $55 in all. Mostly for the people that won't stick around that long but still want to get the full experience.

You can already buy just the deluxe content, without the base game. I did it cause I dont plan to stop subscribing to Gamepass, and I can buy the base game when its on a sale.
If you're on a tight budget you can still try out the game on game pass ultimate using the 1/3month for $1 deal on a new account, and then enable gameshare on an xbox or enable offline-sharing on pc, then play on you're main account

Here is what is frustrating in relation to pricing. There those of us that back in the day paid these prices to own the actual media which included packaging, media and paper product of some sort. This gave/gives us something substantial to have and gives us the option to trade, borrow or sell. NOW we are paying the same dam price to own a digital copy, same price and no options as per the previous statements.

@@stevio2175 it depends. If you're running an absolutely potato PC or you're still running on a hard drive, the series X will always be the better option. But if you have a half decent PC, you shouldn't worry about forza's optimization because it's always very optimized.

I own a gaming PC have for years, I love it, but I'm not going to deny that this years consoles factually have faster loading times in comparison; it's due to firmware tech that they have that we do not. Although, in terms of straight performance and fidelity, I do believe even the quality mode (4k 30fps on Xbox series X) doesn't have all the settings on max which a highest-end PC would be able to perform at 60 fps.

The general rule of thumb with Forza games is the ultimate edition or "premium" edition is the way to go because it actually saves you money in the long run and you get pretty much everything that will ever be added for no additional cost and hence no headache trying to figure out which car pack you wanna buy

First off, in the past it has always been called Ultimate. I don’t recall the treasure map ever being included. I personally think the treasure map shouldn’t be a thing - takes away the purpose of playing the game - exploring the map having fun and finding everything!
I recommend if you have game pass you can get standard for free and then buy the expansion bundle and you have everything that the premium will give you for only the price of the expansion bundle
Taxes doesn’t help with the prices either when I got the premium edition it said 100$ but it was 5$ plus tax and at the time I only had a 100$ gift card so than I had to get another 10$ gift card after that which was so annoying

I didn't see anyone say this in the top comments but with physical games, you can predownload games that are releasing soon using the xbox mobile app (Or beta app, sometimes its both that lets you do it)
In the UK you can get 3 months of Xbox game pass for PC for £1 and that gets you the standard edition, for people who want to try it out before they buy (or just play the game for cheap for 3 months lmao)

Slower load times on pc would only really apply to people installing it on a mechanical hard drive. Even with a standard ssd the load time difference is maybe a few seconds, so not really noticeable unless you are comparing side by side or timing it. My pc with an nvme ssd (not even gen 4) has basically identical load times to the series x.

I have two questions about this matter. First, is it possible for this bundle to get a discount at those times because they are in the very close future? second question is, is there any difference between buying premium edition at first and upgrading later with add-on? will i have the same extras?
The Car Pass & 2 Expansion packs are listed as DLC on steam, so it looks like PC users can purchase these separately. Although there is no pricing for any of the DLC.

Yup... series x has to run at 30 fps for full visual fidelity in quality mode and performance mode doesn't even have 120 fps, which is a bit disappointing with how easy it is to run horizon 4 at high framerates on pc...

@@stevio2175 I have a 6800xt, i can play H4 @4k Ultra 190 frames per second average, You can get a decent pc for $400 and still hit 1080p 60fps at atleast medium settings with a ssd with pretty good load times even compared to the series s or x

That's how it used to be in most racing games. I remember starting with mk2 Golf GTI in Forza Motorsport 2 and then work my way up.

i like to get the standard edition first to get started with the game and get the premium addons when they come on sale. thats what i did with fh4 and saved a bunch of money (got the base game and all addons for like 75 $)

You can already buy just the deluxe content, without the base game. I did it cause I dont plan to stop subscribing to Gamepass, and I can buy the base game when its on a sale.

If you're on a tight budget you can still try out the game on game pass ultimate using the 1/3month for $1 deal on a new account, and then enable gameshare on an xbox or enable offline-sharing on pc, then play on you're main account

Sorry but what? Even if you think you aren't going to use the extra content...you get the game early...you get to pick ANY car and get it for free...you get VIP bonuses...and that's not even everything else you get... just spend the extra 20 bucks...skip mcdonalds for a week if you have to

Here is what is frustrating in relation to pricing. There those of us that back in the day paid these prices to own the actual media which included packaging, media and paper product of some sort. This gave/gives us something substantial to have and gives us the option to trade, borrow or sell. NOW we are paying the same dam price to own a digital copy, same price and no options as per the previous statements.
It’s a great point. You’re right. I personally didn’t get the Ultimate physical editions in the past, but I used to for COD. Was a cool thing, but this is the direction things are going.

@@stevio2175 it depends. If you're running an absolutely potato PC or you're still running on a hard drive, the series X will always be the better option. But if you have a half decent PC, you shouldn't worry about forza's optimization because it's always very optimized.

I own a gaming PC have for years, I love it, but I'm not going to deny that this years consoles factually have faster loading times in comparison; it's due to firmware tech that they have that we do not.
Although, in terms of straight performance and fidelity, I do believe even the quality mode (4k 30fps on Xbox series X) doesn't have all the settings on max which a highest-end PC would be able to perform at 60 fps.

Each at a highly discounted price. I also got all FM 6 DLC for $4.99 before it was delisted. I'm just saying that if you can wait, you can save a lot of money. I have hundreds of games I can play on my console. It's also nice to have something to look forward to playing in the future.

The general rule of thumb with Forza games is the ultimate edition or "premium" edition is the way to go because it actually saves you money in the long run and you get pretty much everything that will ever be added for no additional cost and hence no headache trying to figure out which car pack you wanna buy

First off, in the past it has always been called Ultimate. I don’t recall the treasure map ever being included. I personally think the treasure map shouldn’t be a thing - takes away the purpose of playing the game - exploring the map having fun and finding everything!

Taxes doesn’t help with the prices either when I got the premium edition it said 100$ but it was 5$ plus tax and at the time I only had a 100$ gift card so than I had to get another 10$ gift card after that which was so annoying

I didn't see anyone say this in the top comments but with physical games, you can predownload games that are releasing soon using the xbox mobile app (Or beta app, sometimes its both that lets you do it)

Smart Delivery should let you play on both!
Slower load times on pc would only really apply to people installing it on a mechanical hard drive. Even with a standard ssd the load time difference is maybe a few seconds, so not really noticeable unless you are comparing side by side or timing it. My pc with an nvme ssd (not even gen 4) has basically identical load times to the series x.

First, is it possible for this bundle to get a discount at those times because they are in the very close future? second question is, is there any difference between buying premium edition at first and upgrading later with add-on? will i have the same extras?
Only difference is early access. No way to know future sales, but it is possible

The Car Pass & 2 Expansion packs are listed as DLC on steam, so it looks like PC users can purchase these separately. Although there is no pricing for any of the DLC.
