- Can we cook frozen dumplings better than takeout? Actually lots of restaurants use frozen dumplings. You just need to know the right way to cook. It is not that difficult, I promise.

I just watched over two dozen dumpling videos and this was the BEST! It actually gave times and measurements and was under three minutes. Thank you!
Thank you so much 😊
pro tip: you do not need to measure, learn how to eye ball it. in many recipes you just need enough water to moisten or cover something, and that is something you can eyeball. simply pour enough water to coat the bottom and youre good.
@@DolanAndGoobyFTWone wise man once said : learn the techniques and you will never have to remember recipes 🫡 and i think thats beautiful
Thailand Auntie here…this is how it’s done ✅ ❤
Why do I feel like I'm going to battle with this song in the background 🥟🤺
Haha, I tried to make the video intense, probably too much...
😂😂
the kitchen is a battleground.
The battle for those perfect dumplings!
😂😂😂
Awesome tutorial, thank you! Precise and to the point!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Fantastic Video. No longer than needed. Precise information and, over-the-top dramatic music. What’s not to love. I wish more food channels followed your style.
Made some good dumplings using this tutorial
I am happy to hear this!
Thank you!! Been trying to slowly learn to cook and oil scares the crap out of me, it came out great! (bottom was sticking to the pan but that was my problem) :D
You're a legend, Larry. Thank you!
Thank you so much 😊
Very helpful. Thanks
Glad it was helpful!
definitely gonna try it
Thank you so much!
Very well presented👍👍👍👏👏👏
Thanks you so much!
excellent tutorial. I will definitely try it these days 💪🏻
Thank you 😊
I am about to battle my hunger! My ammunition!? GYOZA!!!!
Just watched the video 60 times as I'm making them to make sure I don't mess up
The only trap would be, if you use a very old and degraded nonstick pan, the Gyoza 🥟 could stick to the bottom and hard to remove. If you use a new pan, there is nothing to worry about.
You're amazing. I'm having dumplings tonight
Thank you 🙏
Winner, great tutorial ❤
Thank you 🙏
underrated
Thanks 😊
Does it work with homemade dumplings too? I make them with raw meat and homemade dough
Yes, this is exactly how I make my raw dumplings. Just know you will need to add a bit more water and for it to cook a bit longer since the inside is raw. Also bc the filling is still raw, I personally add a bit of broth or seasoning to the water :))
It works for homemade dumplings as well. For fresh one, reduce cooking time 1-2 minutes, for frozen one, just use same cooking time.
Epic movie music was a plus
That's what's for dinner tonight
Thank you so much!
thanks larry
Thanks 🙏
@@CookwithLarry made these for the family they thought i was a proper chef 😂😂😂
This dumpling video makes me feel like I'm going to war
Haha...
They ALL stick to the bottom of the very nonstick skillet....three times now 😅
He gives a lil bit more advice about cooking them in a skillet. Think he says gotta preheat the oil in the skillet first I think. Um damn I just read it. Lol well it’s in the comment he wrote back to illegalheadgehog comment.
Hope it helps.
All non-stick pans will start to degrade after a few month. When the bottom is covered by a light brown layer, it is not suitable for the method in the video anymore. Alternately, you can try to use a cast iron skillet, preheat gently, some oil, then arrange the dumplings quickly .
@CookwithLarry Thank you!!! I have cast irons. Will try that. Love dumplings! ❤️
Try them in the Air Fryer, mine came out amazing!
@mrdiaz3413 Okay. Will try that too...my fryer is "oven style" setup so should be easy. Thnx!
I got the bibigo steamed dumplings that you put in the microwave and I was wondering if I can do the same thing
I did this and it kind of exploded into a fire, what did i do wrong? is it having temperature of oil too high? what can i do to avoid this
late but you most likely set the temperature too high as oil at a high temperature when mixed with water can cause it to start bubbling out the pan or even setting on fire. thats why grease fires happens sometimes
make sure you set your temperature lower next time preferably to the 4th setting or 2nd lowest on your stove/cooker
also make sure you arent preheating like the video says
Japanese Gyoza
is rice oil ok ?
Put some vinegar in the dip, it’s nice !
Thank you! Vinegar is traditional dumpling dip.
What’s the best brand of frozen jiaozi?
The easiest way is just buying a pack of them then cooking and tasting them. Here in Australia, the best one seems from Thailand, the worst ones from local makers.
Is that a Teflon pan or cast iron ?
Garlic and chili oil in that gyoza sauce. Thank me later
Thanks 🙏
do i have to use vegetable oil?
The temperature inside pan is quite high, animal fat could be burnt easily. Vegetable oil is much easier to handle.
@@CookwithLarry what about coconut oil
Looks cool
So in total it will take like 7 minutes in total to cook on medium-high heat, right?
No it’s 6 minutes. He’s saying you may have to add water twice within that 6 minutes.
Can we use regular oil?
Any vegetable oil with light flavor should work. Just don’t use the oil with very strong flavour, such as olive oil , mustard oil etc
Can you cook them in a microwave?
I don't think cooking dumpling in microwave is a good idea. If you have a steamer, try to steam it. if not, cooking the dumpling in boiling water for 6 min also works very well.
I have round dumplings..is it okay?
I think the "round" one should be OK. No dumplings are perfectly round, there is alway a small flat surface there, it is totally OK for panfrying.
I've been doing it wrong this whole time 😅
amazing but background music is v scary😅
Thank you. The music was supposed to be tense rather than scary😱. Sorry about that ☹️
Bad ass music really cool video
It makes me feel like the Avengers are getting together to cook this dumpling LMAO
Is 25 grams the same as 25 ml ?
For water, yes, 25gram = 25 ml
1 teaspoon = 5ml
1 tablespoon = 15 ml
Fine and dandy, pretty good instruction. The accompanying music, although unneeded, was all right at the beginning but it exploded into a thunderstorm of noise that made me wish I muted the video from the outset. Keep up the fine instruction but dismiss any thoughts you may have regarding music. The multitudes will thank you.
"The multitudes will thank you."
No, you're just a weirdo, lol
I was groovin 😂
Thanks for the tips!
@@natsukaze5799 lol? Were you quite literally laughing out loud? My my, you’re easy to please, dear.
Couldn't find my chili oil😭😭
It seems that I need to post a video on how to make chilli 🌶️ oil. It will taste better than store bought one, I promise.
Thks for watching please subscribe today
who are you to say that
why not preheat the oil?
It will take some time to arrange all dumplings, if the oil was preheated, the cooking time for first one will be significantly longer than the last one. Of course if you use cast iron frying pan, you will have to preheat the oil, otherwise the dumplings will stick to the pan and become a pile of unpleasant mess.
i been doing it wrong this entire time , thank you
Thanks 🙏
Umm I put water in… and they about exploded…. My life flashed before my eyes luckily I got the lid on.
Oh dear, I think there are two possible reasons for this, first, the pan is super hot, second, there is too much oil. Too cook the dumplings 🥟 properly, we just need a thin layer of vegetable oil, and as soon as you hear the sound of sizzling, you can add water.
