    1. 5 minutes of advice is considered a birthday gift.

      IT was great that Ari was a bombarding him with all those questions, it was a test to open Turtle's eyes and realize it's far more challenging that he thought. But then when Ari becomes sincere sitting down with Turtle, in a fatherly nature, that was also very helpful.

    Entourage gets looked down as low brow entertainment when it actually had well written scenes with real heart. Ari is a classic character! This is one of his best scenes. The audience is allowed inside his mind and heart to see how he thinks and feels. Truly! The bravado is hilarious but the moments where he drops his guard are the most touching. He deeply cares about those in his life and is relentless to show that affection. Due to all the unveiling of the D-baggery that is Hollywood in the 10 years or so. This show has really aged poorly. People on both sides of the political isle have cause to despise the characters in this show. That said, I like many others loved this show during its original run. However, this entire Turtle arch was out of touch and poorly written.
      I do believe they where trying to make Turtle the every man of the group, but instead he came across as petty and entitled. All the things Ari mentioned here are true. Turtle had no plan, no concept of a day to day grind work ethic, only a sense of inadequacy among his peers for inspiration. However, unlike young and new entrepreneurs Turtle had no life stress. Turtle was living in a mansion rent free, he did not have to pay for auto insurance, internet bills, groceries or any other life expenses. Above else he had a massive safety net in the case of failure, something 95% of entrepreneurs do not have. I hated this arch and while Turtle was never my favorite character. I never disliked him either, during this arch I despised his character.

      He did. In this same season he lets go of Drama as a client just so Lloyd can take him on as a client because he knows Lloyd would be able to give Drama way more attention and focus on his career whereas Ari has tons of clients and doesn't care yet he would've lost money by letting Drama go. Ari didn't care about the money because he saw Drama as a friend first, and he even tells him that.

    For a show that had a lot of fluff and absolute bogus writing from time to time, there’s some fantastic scenes like this that really are genuinely well done and hit you in the heart. Ari’s advice is raw, a bit harsh but so true

    People can say what they want about Turtle, but he really grew as a character the last 3 seasons of the show. Whether you think it's realistic or not, he showed great characters and maturity and realizing he wanted to have more in life than just being a gopher. This was the start of it. And I like how it wasn't just rags to riches over night. He had some pitfalls along the way. He started the car service and that went down the tubes, tried putting together the restaurant, didnt' work out. THen the Avion deal and finally he made good (with the help Vince of course but in real life it's now always what you know but who you know). But he definately went through his hardships and paid his dues in the end as Ari talks about here.

    How were his two quarter million dollar cars not collateral ?

    • @MsClaudiaDuran
      @MsClaudiaDuran 6 лет назад +16

      Harrison Richards Please. Even the most exotic sports car loses value once it's driven off the lot. Collateral has to be an asset, not a liability.

      Of course they lose value, but that doesn't mean that they don't *hold* any value.

      I don’t need loans and I never will.
      I’m just saying that cars hold value.
      Turtle’s quarter million dollar car will have let’s say a collateral of only $10K, but it still has value to the bank.

    Ari Gold has to be one of the funniest characters ever written in TV and Movie history. I've never laughed so much while watching something in my life. Jeremy Piven was perfect. Literally fit like Steve Carell as Michael Scott. Or Rainn Wilson as Dwight. Bryan Cranston as Walter White. I could go on and on but those are examples that first come to mind when I think of characters that no other actors could have played.
