  • While I was away for work, my parents sold "my car" to fund a vacation and buy expensive gifts for my golden child sister, claiming she needed self-care after her divorce. I laughed in their faces and told them what's coming is unavoidable now.

    The fact that the parents got scared upon finding out they stole another person's vehicle is proof they know what they did is wrong, they simply thought that if the car belongs to their daughter that they could bully her into silence. This level of entitlement and stupidity is through the roof. The sister is just as delusional as the parents. It's pointless to even attempt to use logic with people like this.

    • @greyscaleanon7551

      The sister is MORE delusional, in my opinion. She might have inherited the entitlement from her parents (or learned it from their treatment of her), but the mental hoops she jumped through to call OP ungrateful were downright impressive.

      Better question, how did the parents legally sell a car without the title or a bill of sale? they couldn't give the title or any other information to the dude, and if they went after the registration it wouldn't be her name on it which you would think would be a huge red flag to the buyer?

    Whether OP lied, or told the truth, it makes no difference. The fact is that OPs parents stole and sold property that didn’t belong to them.

    • @SnowyWolborg
      @SnowyWolborg Месяц назад +16

      Exactly. From their POV, stealing from OP is 100% fine and dandy because they thought they could force her into silence. But someone outside of the family? They know they can't get away with that. This is typical bully mentality: Target the one who you think you can push around without fear of repercussion.

To think that the daughter would still be making hundreds of dollars of payments a month just to give it the other daughter, is ludicrous. Without those it's not a legal sale, and no one with a brain would be stupid enough to buy a car that didn't have those documents, because legally it wouldn't belong to them even if they paid in full for it. Not to mention insurance will not insure a vehicle not registered in your name, and without insurance for the car, you can't be behind the wheel. No matter if it was her boyfriend's car or her car, with the title and either one of their names they should have made a stolen car report immediately and threatened the charges against the parents immediately also. No ifs, ands, or buts about it. A vehicle is a major thing with a specific title of ownership attached to it and therefore it can't be sold by someone who's not the owner anyway unless it's the legal owner of a person who passed it on as a part of a will or something when they passed away.

    It may seem out of the blue to OP, but her parents absolutely did this to knock their Scapegoat Child down a peg and put their Golden Child back up a few rungs above her. The vehicle was the symbol they were fixating on that 'proved' you were currently 'on a rung above' her and they had to take that away. It's possible OP never experienced much blatant Scapegoating as she maybe was never significantly and obviously outperforming her sister in their minds before especially as they are 7 years apart there may not have been many comparisons before, but this absolutely would have kept happening. Your parents would have kept demanding you 'think about how this would make your sister feel' regarding everything in your life that might 'show her up'. The fact they were all holding a grudge for years about a job you both applied for and OP got, even though the GC just dropped out and moved, and thought because of that OP owes literally everything to the GC speaks volumes.

    It’s amazing what people can talk themselves into believing. I had/have two older sisters so I know. I bought some scratch-off lottery tickets from a machine and won $500 and my sister kept saying it was because of her because “she allowed me” to go first in picking out the tickets, like I knew she would have picked those same tickets 😂. So delusional. Some people live in their own world. I hope you find peace and your parents and especially your sister realize what they have thrown away.

    Um...don't you need a title to a car in order to sell it? Turns out I'm not the only one to think of this, lol.

  • @PodcastStories-wu9pi

    It’s clear the parents knew they messed up when they panicked after stealing someone’s car. They probably thought they could just intimidate their daughter into keeping quiet about it. This kind of entitlement and ignorance is off the charts. And honestly, the sister's just as delusional as the parents. Trying to reason with people like this is a waste of time.

    OP has been emotionally beaten down by these parents! Holy crap! How are you asking if YTA?! No! Ok if you had told the truth the car would not have gotten sold. But that doesn’t make them thinking they sold “your car” right! I’m sorry sweetie but you need some therapy and to heal that inner bronze child. Or whatever you wanna call the non golden child.

    ...🤨
    I'm calling BS on this. I just find it hard to believe that somebody would just sell a car that doesn't belong to them, especially one they believe belongs to their child, and that someone came and bought it without asking about the title?
    And then that the cops didn't get called the second the parents didn't automatically just call the person and tell them they had to get the car back? I don't know ANYBODY who wouldn't have called the cops before they left that house, even on their own parents.
    This story is highly suspect.

  • @corpsenymph9499
    @corpsenymph9499 28 дней назад

    I would contact other relatives about what your parents had done and then explain the past instances of favoritism they had to your sister that led to that situation with the stolen car. If word gets out that they did something terrible like that to their own daughter, then it would be a good way to shut down the negative conversations they are having about you with others if noone is willing to buy their crap and call them out on it..

    Fairy tale. You absolutely cannot sell a vehicle (unless it's extremely old) without the title. Even if you are trying to junk a vehicle, it must be at least 20 years old to be scrapped without a title.

    • @SenryLHKiser

      People sell and buy cars from private parties with and without titles all the time. They can't REGISTER the vehicle without a current title though. OP more or less stated the guy who bought it was doing something shady and they may never have seen it again. Chop shop or shipped overseas.
