I run a Gen 2+ PVS-14 mainly because we can't get Gen 3+ legally here, ACT in Black was not a company I thought off, but Gen 2+ works well enough for airsoft, as that's what I used and we have in our Armed Forces as well.
Depending for what type of matches your running, even gen 1 can be used. Because in the case of CQB matches the tight spaces mean your IR illuminator is going to light up the whole room also it has the benefit of blinding the other player if they are running a gen 2 or gen3. However for outdoor matches that's where the gen 1 loses all it potency. However the rifle scope I built off an old Gen 1 cascading tube is as good as a gen3 and doesn't require an IR illuminator
What tubes were in those Lunox? I understand you have other nvgs now, but I'm interested in buying a Lunox myself and am wondering if the Commercial tubes are good.
There are no reviews on it, but Dragon Red Airsoft, known for their better than average quality helmet replicas, is advertising a IIIA kevlar FAST helmet. It is around the same price as this team Wendy bump helmet. Just figured anyone reading might like to look that up.
Note: Fairly good and less-expensive nods exist. Sightmark makes a duel tube 1x24 nod and armasight makes the spark core. However I would still advise people save up.

You seem to find a lot more than I see from google searches etc. Do you have any recommendations for finding events? Based in the North East UK but travel isn't too much of an issue. One question regarding your Comtac though: Does it get in the way when using your reddot? (I am currently using a Comtac III and because of the earcups I cant really look through my reddot sight. Duke Trimble because night vision is 1000x better thats why special forces use it. flir is only any help if thats actual people about. wont help you tryna manouver through a forest

I've looked long and far for this helmet at a reasonable price in EU/UK but have been completely unavailable. Am I unlucky and missed something obvious or is it really this hard to purchase this helmet?
If you are looking to run some nvgs but don't have the money for a full helmet setup I can recomend a protec plus a real steel nvg shroud. Much better than airsoft repro kit but not breaking the bank.

Remco Crielaard I disagree! I'm no 'professional youtuber' but I personally run a lid setup extremely similar to Matt's-- if you run the kit at games often and get the use out of it then it becomes justifiable, not to do with RUclips and such IMO 🙂

i would recommend an ak-a2 arm. i personally have one and it is better than the rhino arm. and it comes in the j-arm varient and a dovetail version.
