Absolutely, I am sitting here pinching myself early 2021. This is the position: we all knew but no-one would do anything until it became life and death!
All of the stations were: London st.pancras international, kentish town, West Hampstead, mill hill Broadway, elstree and borehamwood, radlett, harpenden, St.Albans city, Luton airport parkway, Luton, leagrave, harlington, flitwick, and Bedford. Then for east Midlands only, the route carries on, up to Corby
There are no international trains that stop at Stratford International station....there never have been due to an issue with Eurostar stating they didn't want to stop 5 minutes after leaving Central London
Love your train sim videos. Especially when you actually play "non-standard" scenarios and trains. Because the scenarios and rolling stock directly from DTG tends to be not as good as some of the 3rd party content. You should try scenarios from TaD (Trains and Drivers) or 3DZug (german scenarios only, but they come with announcements, radio chatter and complete "storylines" for multiple part scenarios). The TaD scenarios often make use of the versystem soundboard software, so they can have announcements etc. as well, but not all do. But on the other hand TaD often use excellent rolling stock, for example vR ExpertLine stuff. 3DZug unfortunately usually sticks to rolling stock available on Steam -> Thank god the game has an easy to use Editor :-D So swings and roundabouts, but both certainly better options than playing default scenarios. P.S.: Concerning your talk about 1st class travel. I usually travel 1st class on ICE and IC trains. If you book with Deutsche Bahn well in advance it is only something like 10-15€ more and imho well worth the extra. On airplanes it's just way too expensive...
You only apply the DRA if you pull up to a red signal, NOT if you stop at a station, the only exception to that is when the platform starting signal is at danger!
+Marshell George (The Growl) my dad drives for Virgin Trains, and My uncle drives for Virgin Trains East Coast, they think the DRA should only be used when at a red signal
About passing trains....The first time in Japan when a shinkansen passes the station from 1 track away from the platform @ 300km/h quite awesome! Also on another note, love your vids Squirrel!
I use to be a train driver, if you reversed a train back into the platform with out permission from the signalman you would be sacked lol, just sayin, nice video Paul.
Nice upload I used this train to commute to st Pancras from Bedford. Really quite realistic it's not classed as a voyerger but a meridian unit. If u travel on weekends then first class is £10 plus normal fare.
brilliant video Paul. I have rode this train on numerous occasions from Sheffield through to Loughborough. they are almost identical to the virgin super Voyager and cross country's class 220s and 211s. under the hood. brilliant and smooth. looking forward to the next update
This train is sold as a 222 "Advanced", which is rather an exaggeration, half of the systems don't work or only show activity on startup, but that's it. Not even the door buttons work!
Absolutely amazing!!! Well done, and thanks for all the tips, really helped, and I also live on that route, could u also do a Thameslink video, for that route too? Also, I think the blue double decker was the arriva bus... Great tho.
The line from St Pancras for the tunnel does go through Stratford then Ebbsfleet, Ashford and down to the tunnel. Stratford however maybe called International but Eurostar do not stop there and never will for some reason, the only services there are the Southeastern High Speed Domestic Services.
at around 5:25ish, talking about paintwork on cars, I went to Lanzarote on holiday and I noticed that the paint on about a fifth of the cars was completely peeling off due to the sun and heat
Tempted to get the Meridian 222 as Hull Trains used to have them before switching to 180 Adelante. In fact I think I read that they were planning on doing a 222 in the old Hull Trains green and white colours.
IRL the trick with these trains is look for the carriage that doesn't have the red dots go all away along because the red dots mean first class and because normally one of the carriages is half first and half standard class you can get free wifi and not pay for a first class ticket
It'll be limited in tunnels to reduce the shock-wave created when two trains meet in the tunnel, which will create effectively a combined speed of 200mph even with the reduction. The sudden pressure change can be damaging, as well as make life uncomfortable from passengers'' ears. This is why high speed tunnels are mostly single track.
Eurostar line starts at St Pancras and then passes through Stratford, but no international trains stop at Stratford International, and the platforms there intended for Eurostar have only ever been used for shuttle services to St Pancras during the Olympics.
+Squirrel Its Ryanair priority that allows you to jump the cue and all airliners that have a common class have to include a minimum number if seats on board this can be changed for bigger profit margins
Its weird to see this journey and train this way as this is a route I travel twice about every month to visit my partner in Leicestershire. The train sounds good in game, but I promise you that when one of these goes through the station at 80MPH, it is not a nice sound as it is VERY loud. Looking forward to the electrification of the Midland Mainline.
just as a FYI.. flashing yellow signals do not mean a speed change.. they signify that a change in the route coming up! meaning crossing over to another track, the way it works is you will get a double flashing yellow (if the signal is fitted) then comes a single flashing yellow and then the next signal will be the signal telling you what you are doing... so a steady single yellow with a row of lights running from the bottom left to top right means you are diverting to the track on the right. as you did..
I work on track where the East Midland Trains run.....they are nice trains....but my god they sneek up on you quickly, they're a well built train, I'll give em that
Squirrel the 100 limits in the tunnels I think they are because the pressure at high speeds on certain trains can build up and bother your ears, especially mine in East Coast HST. Pendolinos are fine for pressure as it don't bother me at all.
You have to ride 1st class on a heritage railway. A vintage saloon or observation carriage provides a superb ride behind steam or diesel. I love to ride 1st. Changes the way you view a railway.
I had a train doing 140mph, and I ended up on the tracks because of the air turbulence! It was scary as a train was coming at like 100 mph whilst I was on the track. Luckily I could get back up quickly. I might never go to Folkestone again.
It's amazing that you got this DLC so early, have you been found out by Just Trains as a full-time gamer and have been given the option to try out new DLC as some sort of advanced preview? If so, it's only a matter of time before DTG might do the same if you're lucky. Little lesson for you too, the DRA is only suppose to be activated if you are stopped at a red signal, stopped at a station where the starting signal is at danger, or stopped at a station if the previous signal was at single yellow and the next signal isn't visible. It's essentially a SPAD-Prevention Technique, and should be released the very minute the next visible signal isn't red. Great video, but I feel this was somewhat mostly recycled from the Class 220/221 advanced pack. Oh well, I might get a discount at this, but probably not. Again, great video.
The trains look and sound better than the south west trains equivalent. Which is run by the exact same business, same color scheme, same name for area.
From St Pancras Intl. International Trains Follow HS1 through Stratford Non-Stop they can then stop at Ebbsfleet and Ashford or go non stop before going off into the Channel Tunnel.
Also there wasn't any passengers on yo platform at luton airport parkway, was because only Thameslink usually stops there, east Midlands only stop there like half the time...
is this game recommended u think? so close to buy it on steam, BUT so many negative reviews it stops me from doing it, and with no demo its hard to make a decission.
Better to torrent it tbh. You only get about three trains a three routes in the vanilla game which is rubbish for the cost. Everything else comes as dlc around £15-£25 each. Rip off
I've flown with Emirates only standard economy but they still treat you like royalty it's incredible food is fantastic loads of leg room and great in flight entertainment definely the best airline I've flown with
Only question I have is why does the front of this train appear state it the train is going to Barnsley? To the best of my knowledge there is no direct trains between London ST Pancras and Barnsley...
You cannot only have electromagnetic eddy current brakes as their effect only causes resistance at high speeds - when the wheel is rotating slowly they have next to no effect at all.
It's more than the hero thing. The last place I worked docked your pay if you missed a day sick. Most of us couldn't afford to miss a day. I do know about the heroes and the hurters though. They do exist.
I know its pretty basic and not in this video but how do you get the advanced menu thing up that shows steam generation / usage with steam locomotives?
Hey Squirrel Great Video as always however, I know this is a little picky but the destination board on the outside of the train reads Barnsley? you were doing a scenario from London to Bedford and the train was then going on to Nottingham. Just something to mention. Great Video :)
the timetable is very lax with times. 19-21 minutes to Ltn (Luton parkway)and 38 to bdm (Bedford) is correct timings. Would love to see the delays this TT would cause on the mml for thameslink and EMT
The EuroStar (the one that goes to france) only stops at St. Pancras unless they have a whole other line. However they don't just go to france, they also go to Belguim
Hi, some of the Eurostars do stop at Ebbsfleet and we have a number that stop, near to my home, at Ashford International in Kent. In France they run to Paris, Gare Du Nord, Lille Flandres and in the season, down to the south-east of France and, as you say up into Belgium. DB, the German Railway operator, has recently been running test trains through the tunnel - problem, as ever, is the different voltages used throughout Europe.
Looks great! However.... On the Just Trains website they point out that for a lot of the scenarios to work you'll need both the London-Peterborough and London-Bedford mail lines. Bedford is (as of this evening on sale if anyone is interested ...until 2nd Nov) I've got Peterborough so now I need to decide if I should get Bedford...hmmm......
Squirrel I flew with emirates before your right they're top draw plenty of legroom, meals are great and they even served jersey ice cream on one of the flights also plenty of games to play on the screen as well

+renner12321 They look like CCTV monitors which would show activity along the platform so the driver can see when the doors are clear and safe to close. Could be wrong though!
Watching this in 2020 during COVID-19, bit about the face mask is hilarious
Also watching this during the COVID 19 pandemic. Hindsight is 2020, but foresight is PRICELESS! lmao :)
'I don't think anywhere else in the world does that' 2020 be like, what you say?
Absolutely, I am sitting here pinching myself early 2021. This is the position: we all knew but no-one would do anything until it became life and death!
Watching in 2024 in Japan!
Those Tubocharged Diesel sounds so fantastic! You can hear the Diesel whining.... love it!
There are no international trains that stop at Stratford International station....there never have been due to an issue with Eurostar stating they didn't want to stop 5 minutes after leaving Central London
Technically they did but only during the 2012 Olympics
So cool to see this. That's pretty much the exact platform the St. Pancras to Nottingham train leaves from!
That intro the feels bring me back haha
This is exactly where TS2016 needs to take addon/payware locomotives. Full systems like a flight sim and realistic physics and sounds. Love it
Love your train sim videos. Especially when you actually play "non-standard" scenarios and trains. Because the scenarios and rolling stock directly from DTG tends to be not as good as some of the 3rd party content.

I travelled from St Pancras to Paris Gare Du Nord recently on the Eurostar and thoroughly enjoyed the ride.
You only apply the DRA if you pull up to a red signal, NOT if you stop at a station, the only exception to that is when the platform starting signal is at danger!
I think they should ALWAYS put the DRA on in real life when stopped, no matter green or red. Makes everything a lot safer.
+Marshell George (The Growl) my dad drives for Virgin Trains, and My uncle drives for Virgin Trains East Coast, they think the DRA should only be used when at a red signal
I know he should of known before
+JDB158 Yeah that's what it's for in real life.
+Marshell George (The Growl) It doesn't.
About passing trains....The first time in Japan when a shinkansen passes the station from 1 track away from the platform @ 300km/h quite awesome! Also on another note, love your vids Squirrel!
The ads that you put in front of your videos are actually pleasent to watch (:
and yes i do watch every advertisement on your videos.

I am one of those people squirrel, always travel first or business. Its a wonderful experience, essential for international flights over 6 hours.
I've had my fair share of sightings of these trains, previously living next to a train station!
brilliant video Paul. I have rode this train on numerous occasions from Sheffield through to Loughborough. they are almost identical to the virgin super Voyager and cross country's class 220s and 211s. under the hood. brilliant and smooth. looking forward to the next update
class221 even
class221 even
Really enjoy these train simulator series. Oh and the OMSI bus as well.
This train is sold as a 222 "Advanced", which is rather an exaggeration, half of the systems don't work or only show activity on startup, but that's it. Not even the door buttons work!
I've been on these trains soo many times... The sounds are really good and it looks like the real thing too.. Only a little too clean
Can't wait to try the train myself in a video :D
Hello
U do awesome vids !!
Hi Qwerty afro you make really cool vids like the one where you went from Manchester to Liverpool
Hi
hi
I love these videos, this channel is a bit differnt (in a good way).
It's so entertaining and relaxing watching your videos. I love it!
Absolutely amazing!!! Well done, and thanks for all the tips, really helped, and I also live on that route, could u also do a Thameslink video, for that route too? Also, I think the blue double decker was the arriva bus... Great tho.
He should do more OMSI 2 videos because their fun to watch
Someone who drives this every day for a job I am sure does not miss the sound.
Its so familiar I have already been on 4 this week! :)

Fantastic video Paul. Keep up the great work!
Platform one is usually the one I take back when I'm coming back from London.
It looks like a real train route. Great game!
Yes I paused the video due to the siren before you mentioned it was in the game and yes I had a good laugh about it!
Me and my mam travelled first class once on a train from where I live to Dublin it was sooo comfortable
The DRA only need to be put on at a double/single yellow and a red not all aspects

+Squirrel @24:49. I 100 percent thought it WAS a Emergency Vehicle because I live outside the ring road and I hear a LOT of 'em
I've traveled first great western first class! you are the only people on they're DMUs who get food!
SQUIRREL HELP, YOU GOT ME ADDICTED TO THE BOB ROSS STREAM!

they brought out a class 222 YAY!!
You have to ride 1st class on a heritage railway. A vintage saloon or observation carriage provides a superb ride behind steam or diesel. I love to ride 1st. Changes the way you view a railway.
Hey Squirrel you're amazing!!!You make awesome videos and you deserve more views!!!
i live in Bedford squirrel and i took that root on Monday because I had taken the eurostar to Belgium Brussels. You should come to Bedford
I had a train doing 140mph, and I ended up on the tracks because of the air turbulence! It was scary as a train was coming at like 100 mph whilst I was on the track. Luckily I could get back up quickly. I might never go to Folkestone again.
MatthewTheGAMER_ Minecrafter I don't understand this comment! Pls explain
@@SuperOpticJ They were at a station (Folkestone) when a train went by at 140mph. It knocked them in the track
I have travelled this route and yes it is that straight :)
Great video squirrel 👍🏼

Awesome video. Thank Squirrel
The trains look and sound better than the south west trains equivalent. Which is run by the exact same business, same color scheme, same name for area.
that scenario was for class 43
great video,JT msy as well just take my money now
From St Pancras Intl. International Trains Follow HS1 through Stratford Non-Stop they can then stop at Ebbsfleet and Ashford or go non stop before going off into the Channel Tunnel.
Luton Parkway is my local station and this is my route into london but on the First Capital Connect to West Hampstead. The tunnels go on forever
bedford station YAAAAAAY i've been here 2 times now and oh my god it is a bril station to go to
Also there wasn't any passengers on yo platform at luton airport parkway, was because only Thameslink usually stops there, east Midlands only stop there like half the time...
You can change the destination board on the Class 220/2 with shift F12 and
ctrl shift F12
I never thought they would add an east Midlands train
for 400,000 subs can you please do a gaming set-up
+Dudeboy35 he did one a long ago and another one a looooooooooooooooong ago so just search setup on his channel
+Dudeboy35 I'm already planning the studio tour :)
wow nice (;
+Squirrel can you do a Frankfurt u bahn
Dudeboy35 I don't think he will do it
Whis Game Controls are HARD :D
is this game recommended u think? so close to buy it on steam, BUT so many negative reviews it stops me from doing it, and with no demo its hard to make a decission.
Keenie Do it, the negative reviews from me are just that it cost a lot to buy another route
cost a lot for a new route? how many routes are there?
Keenie Hell of alot, About £10- £25 for a new route.
Better to torrent it tbh. You only get about three trains a three routes in the vanilla game which is rubbish for the cost. Everything else comes as dlc around £15-£25 each. Rip off

Only question I have is why does the front of this train appear state it the train is going to Barnsley? To the best of my knowledge there is no direct trains between London ST Pancras and Barnsley...

Dang, I want this game.
Try OpenRails (It's cheaper)
+mak4minecraft OpenBVEs better
+Marshell George (The Growl) Does it have multiplayer
No
Same
what scenario route do I need to look for on jt asi have the 222 but not the route you just shown
st pancras to bedford, it's on Steam I think
You cannot only have electromagnetic eddy current brakes as their effect only causes resistance at high speeds - when the wheel is rotating slowly they have next to no effect at all.
Eurostar trains have never stopped at Stratford, they just passed straight through. It should be called Stratford high speed
you only put the DRA on if the signal in question is showing a caution or danger aspect
It's more than the hero thing. The last place I worked docked your pay if you missed a day sick. Most of us couldn't afford to miss a day. I do know about the heroes and the hurters though. They do exist.

I had a glitch at Luton where there was a huge sea of people when I opened the do
Looks great!
However....
On the Just Trains website they point out that for a lot of the scenarios to work you'll need both the London-Peterborough and London-Bedford mail lines. Bedford is (as of this evening on sale if anyone is interested ...until 2nd Nov)
I've got Peterborough so now I need to decide if I should get Bedford...hmmm......
Squirrel I flew with emirates before your right they're top draw plenty of legroom, meals are great and they even served jersey ice cream on one of the flights also plenty of games to play on the screen as well
Yea this DRA switch. I almost always forget to reset it as well. 😊
Once I download an add on of steam...do I straight go and play TS or do I have to extract some files or something...please explain squirrel, thanks.
The catenary was inside the cab! lol
With Emirates first class they call it the suites and they have showers for the passengers use.
What are the grey/black boxes in the smaller train stations used for (near the end of the station; always in pairs of two on a pole)? Is this a Brittish thing? I have never seen one of these in Germany.
+renner12321 They look like CCTV monitors which would show activity along the platform so the driver can see when the doors are clear and safe to close. Could be wrong though!
