  • The expedition which changed my life!
Very happy to present to you the documentary on my 2021 Mount Annapurna 1 Expedition. Although I could not reach the summit, but the failure taught me much more than success ever could and I came back much wiser and better. I hope you enjoy the documentary. Cheers!
    About Parth Upadhyaya-
On 23rd May 2019, 5am, at the age of 24, I reached to the very top of Mount Everest fulfilling a 9 year long dream.
I started trekking since the age of 15 and since then I have completed over 800 treks across Sahyadri's and Himalayan mountain ranges. Moreover, I also work as a motivational speaker for various institutions.

I am from Mumbai. After being in the mountains in Sikkim, for just 8 days on vacation, I've realised that we've become so delicate. I've developed huuuggggge respect for mountains and people living here. We're nothing in front of nature and it's immense power. It can break us in a fraction of a second.
Parth, I have personally felt each of your emotions while watching this video. I'm only glad that you made it back alive for your parents.. there's always a second time for such expeditions.. and yes, I too believe that 'jaan hai to jahan hai'.. respect, respect and only respect for the sherpas and mountain community and for true mountaineers like you who struggle right from the scratch to reach the top.. words are not enough.. I wish you all the best for your future expeditions.. 🙏

Amazing! Much awaited documentary! I started watching your videos a year back when I was planning my first winter trek to kedarkantha. I fell in love with the mountains. You are so motivating! I too plan on climbing the Everest one day😊. I love the fact that you never want to conquer a mountain, but rather wait for it to open its gates for you🥰

Well tried Parth, someday gates will open for you for sure..gr8 effort👍. How are your parents now

What a power packed experiences !!! Hats off to you and each and every mountaineer who climbed Annapurna. For me, climbing Annapurna is simply out of question; but April 2019 was when I went for Pangarchulla summit and I too had to come back without summiting it, I came back from the baby Pangarchulla point and I know how it feels. But as you rightly said, failures are equally important in ones life to make oneself aware of their own strength and power. Even today when I think about that failure, my heart cries and longs to go back to summit it someday. But this year September first week I trekked Kashmir Great Lakes and that too after recovering from my - almost a year long ankle ligament injury. So yes, never stop preparing and following your dreams is what I believe in. My best of best wishes for your coming Annapurna summit, Parth 🙌🏻

Thank you for being who you are.
I watch all your videos on RUclips and I want to thank you for the kind of content you bring to the platform.
I am writing this message to thank you for perhaps being one of those rare people on internet who are raw, who showcase things as they are, no window dressing no only bright goody goody stuffs. You have embarked upon three 8000ers of which one you sumitted and in the other two you successfully heard when the mountains spoke to you.
People usually glorify only their success stories but they wont open up so gracefully and unabashedly about their ventures that might not have achieved the expected results.
In life we do face many struggles than successes but no one appreciates or even discusses about the process.
Your videos are the best motivation to embrace the struggle, live through it and keep moving ahead as you enjoy the learning of all the failures that mould you and eventually make you stronger.
More power to you and may your tribe shine.
Thank you for motivating strangers in your unique way.

As an amateur mountaineer, I learned a lot of important things, primarily :
    1. The day Parth ji took the call to come back ,being his bday I can only imagine how hard it must have been. But as he says ' Safety is success , summit is Bonus'
    2. The amazing way the rescue was carried out!
    3. His apt answer to what he titled this documentary as " successful failure".
Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful journey sans your summit, but we all are eagerly waiting for the one which has the bonus in it :)

4 most important statements by you Parth that we human beings and young mountaineers should learn:
Safety is success, Summit is bonus
Do first what you are afraid of
Look at failure logically than emotionally
Find solution and not expect sympathy
Amazing video brother and I'm sure you will get 100% confidence for your 2nd Annapurna expedition, We are with you, World is with you and God is with you, Go nail it....!!

How can you eat spicy food on such a high altitude, it is not at all good for stomach. I guess it's the food intake which plays the major factor in these crazy mountains. That is why maximum climbers carry energy bars with them to get that instant energy. But you gained so much experience from this expedition, come back stronger next time & we proud of you parth no matter what. Kudos to the editing team, this was the best documentary on Annapurna, hands down🤗♥️

Wow, this is so incredible. By no means this can be called a failure. This is a precise and apt decision making when odds are stacked against you. Pushing your mind to think clearly especially in the state of reduced fitness, adverse weather and challenging terrain is wonderful. You took the right decision to climb down only to climb another day in few months. What a visibility that day when you could capture Mt Dhaulagiri, Annapoorna, Annapoorna South and Maachapuchre in one frame. Your bowing down to these majestic mountains and taking their blessing to keep you safe is a beautiful sight. I can feel the mix of adrenaline rush, fear and thrill when you were returning back to camp1, alone during the rotation climb due to sickness. Crossing the crevasse field between camp 2 and 1 alone must be so nerve racking but so glad you held the battle ground with grit and patience. In moments like these, one gets so tempted to expedite and rush. But of course the key is move steps firmly one at a time. Thank you Parth for allowing us to be part of your incredible journey and showcasing these awe inspiring climbs. I am your fan.
