This guy was my hero when i was a kid. All these other wanna be TV wallys, heck this guy and the Major were simply great, when TV too wasn't full of it.
I am sorry, he was not my hero because up until a week ago I had no idea who he was. I thought that Steve Erwin was somebody, but now I feel bad about .
One thing that I absolutely adore about Malcolm’s fishing videos is that he almost never mentions the exact size of the fish. It’s never; “wow, 100cm+!!”. It’s “look at the size of that fish!” Or “what a beautiful fish”. It’s not about a competition, it’s not about sport. He’s simply experiencing the Outback in all her majestic wonder.
This series is one of the main reasons, why we travelled Australia for 6 months, of which about 2 months in Western Australia and the Kimberley. Thank you Malcolm for harvesting this dream in me. I would not have missed this opportunity for the world.
Malcolm Douglas was my hero back in the days when I was a boy and dreaming of untouched nature and adventure. Today I own a Land Cruiser and a boat and have been to several deserts in the past years. I´m so grateful for his films and his work.
It’s the best, isn’t it, watching Malcolm Douglas all those years ago inspired me to do the same , still watching those episodes now , he was an icon to this beautiful land , god rest your soul , mate you are sadly missed
Malcolm Douglas ....das Aushängeschild für Australien und die Schönheit und Wildness dieses Landes ....auch seine Dokus werden unvergesslich bleiben.....toller Mann und was er geleistet hat !!!
But seriously, what about the production and the extreme quality of picture and vision!? Thank you very much to the Germans noticing the necessity for such a beautiful piece of work. When you ever hear about Australia being the highest consumer of beer in the world per capita..... just know that it is the Germans who come here to enjoy this beautiful land and our wonderful beer.
Man, talk about a walk down memory lane! This Aussie legend inspired the sense of adventure and exploring our remote backyard in so many generations and is still doing so today. His shows should be mandatory watching for every single Aussie so they can see how bloody great our country is, this is the REAL Australia 🇦🇺❤️
Malcolm in this video reminds me so much of my own Dad, even looked like Malcolm and, he lived like Malcolm in far north qld. Life was real in the 60, 70s and 80s. Started to go pear shaped in the 90s. Thankyou for sharing these valuable old videos.
Das war vor fünfundzwanzig Jahren meine Lieblingssendung im deutschen Privat-TV! 👍 Danke fürs Hochladen! 👍 Thanks for uploading! 👍 Very good and beautiful, thank you! 👍 Sehr gut und schön, danke!
Oh wOw I'm so glad I came on to Malcom Adventure and his dog Rusty and team mates. I don't wanna miss any of his Adventures. Outdoors with nature at its glory and in touch with the earth and ocean. Feed of fish and oysters of the rocks yummy 😋😎yeah thankful for this adventure whom all involved. R.I.P true Aussie bloke Malcom 💛
I miss the colours on these old videos, especially the photographs. It gives this longing nostalgic feeling that makes this 30yo to pursue fulltime life of ventures and wonders
Man this is by far the best fishing show I've ever seen. That aboriginal style handspear shot was nuts!!! Also love the half yank half ocker accent on the snake fella
It’s not actually a fishing show though haha, Malcolm Douglas just loves it and every ep has a fishing segment. If it was a fishing show he’d have a Shimano kit and be a lot more dramatic about his catch.
Thanks to Malcolm I sought out and found Barra in the states . I still cant believe how delicious this fish is . Even though I get it frozen its still great . I can only imagine what it taste like fresh . Maybe one day .
An Absolute joy to watch these exceptionally captured remote places. With just the basics & no fuss, just shows you don't need all the bells and whistles... some know how and a true adventurous spirit... and obviously local knowledge is essential. What a legend! Best entertainment ever these days, even watching repeats , 😊❤
If a fish started to give more emotions than say a dog, who is a Man's best friend. And reacted equally as realistic as one, would people still fish? Would people still throw wooden spears through living beings?
That was a reef shark, but yeah, technically a fish just tastes terrible. Something about the top carnivores tasting so bad = we aren’t supposed to eat them.
This man is the Epitome of a true conservationist , explorer, risk taker coupled with knowledge, no one has done what this man has done , without the benefit of modern technology !! even then , it is with modern techno. Amazing vids that should be treasured forever.
Interesting thing about the rough scale python. Someone Did find them also and brought them back to be Bred. Now there are more rough scale pythons living happily in captivity than in the wild probably. I used to care for 2 of them in a mates python collection. They are amazing Snakes, with a huge attitude.
He’s my idol the pain following since the child where she was still alive I’ve been striving to be like him in my videos but I will never be him Best legend ever in Australia
Note to self: Don’t try and pick up trevally by the tail without glove, hand gun makes loud bang when fired, always keep tide book and make sure next day tide is same height or bigger when going aground for the night. Malcom is a true Aussie legend

I like it when the fish aren’t educated too when I go fishing. RIP Malcom Douglas a legend and a wealth of knowledge
I was a troubled hyperactive child and my mum said when this show was on I sat there fixated and did not move doing it again as an old man 😂
His very first cast you can see an absolute monster fish coming out from the reef at the bottom centre of the screen. That thing looked huge!
