If you stay in the same company, convince your boss that you're due for a promotion to a higher position that covers a much larger, significantly larger area of responsibilities! Of course it's not that easy, for that you'd need to have proven yourself capable and have all your receipts (data, stats on how you increased profit, sales, or efficiency, saving costs, for the company).

However there are micromanaging behaviours by the top management and I consider leaving for a new challenge, targeting same C-suit role in my profession but to another most promising and high paying sector.
