Huge thanks indeed for allowing me to narrate both intro's for Chillingham Castle Twas a real honour gents, youve made this old northern bloke very happy. 👍🏻
Now...onto the video. Just fookin amazing It was an editing masterpiece and I can see what a headache it was for you to put together but you need to be exceptionally proud of yourself for doing it. I rather watch your stuff like this than any other main stream TV crap anyday. Massively gutted for you both about the footsteps and clock bell 😢 but huge respect for the instant debunk....thats why we watch you though... honesty and integrity.

Can someone explain how a clock sounds like footsteps? I'm not meaning anything by it I would like to know how the clock building up to chime sounds like footsteps I also wonder why didn't that guy giving the tour say that you will hear footsteps before it chimes

I'm new watching this channel and I really love how you let the guide tell us the history and the ghostly sightings without you guys interrupting them. Nothing grinds my gears more than paranormal investigators talking over or interrupting the guide. As us viewers aren't just here for the investigation, we are also here for the history.

As an American, I absolutely love being able to learn the incredible history of these old buildings. We have nothing near as old, obviously. Even just to be able to touch one of those walls, I’d be enthralled!
I loved hearing the guide’s accounts and tour. What I appreciated most is probably that you are honest about your findings, not afraid to debunk things!
I never really watch stuff like this, but I enjoyed this so much, I’ll subscribe. Thank you so much for sharing your footage of such incredible places I’ll never be able to visit, and thank you for being real, having integrity! Much appreciated 💗

Wow ! Excellent ! I visited Chillingham about 18 years ago . I was in the dungeon room on my own , I was chuckling at a ‘Do not sit on here ‘ sign on the spiked torture chair when there was a deep scary groan right in my ear …… just like someone taking their last breath……I was out of there quick sticks 😮😮😮😮

You need to do this again, waiting by the clock to see if you get the thumping noise at the clock. It probably is, but, it might be a sentry making hourly rounds which coincide with the clock chiming on the hour. You never know.

One additional comment from an old time ghost hunter, the twelve footsteps you heard and assumed were associated with the clock were not. At least I don’t believe so. I had, at one time, a fond interest in big wall clocks and you would have heard the noise like a clicking noise and/or the sound of the chime spinning up. I think you caught a dead palace guard making the rounds because those were heavy footsteps.

I am amazed by how beautiful this castle is and the splendid job done towards its upkeep. What a treasure trove of auld English history and the people that traversed its many halls! I love castles, but unfortunately, many are crumbling away due to the cost for repairs. I hope you both return for a part 2. Even authenticity has its price, but you are much better for it! I had the privilege to stay at this castle twice. Let me just say things to go bump in the night. He stayed in the grey room. Got some very interesting knocking , heard footsteps, used an EMF meter, and it did lineup with questions asked. Sitting by the fireplace, a blue light appeared behind me. What an amazing room to stay in.
My second visit I was in the lookout room which is located above the great room . Did get a couple things there. the biggest thing was my equilibrium is off, going all the way up the stairs into the apartment and on the landing. We did get some responses, also smelled something sweet from time to time. There were a few things we could not say for sure, due to people that were down below in the apartment and we’re making noise. I will also add this. The grounds around are Chillingham castle haunted too. Got some responses in the woods. And also, there is a building down below if you head toward the cemetery it’s right to your right. Took photos of the building afterwards we saw faces in the building. They weren’t there when we took the pictures. It’s an amazing place to check out. If you get the opportunity to go there, please do.

Chillingham Castle is my speciality, I've stayed there many times doing research and soaking up the atmosphere. I've researched the history over 20 years and most of it in BS. The actual DOCUMENTED history is very hard to come in historic archives. I would like to congratulate you guys for NOT falling into the usual CRAP that is spouted by other so called ghost hunters. Be careful of what the guides tell you, half of that is a script and I was pleased to hear the guide say everything in the torture chamber is a replicate. This was the BEST and most authentic stay over I've EVER seen. Great debunk on the clock. Thanks for keeping it real.

That is an absolutely awesome location. But like all those said to be really haunted locations gives investigators high expectations only to be let down. As for the "footsteps" my first thought was residual but when it happened the second time, I feel you are correct about what's really going on Steve. This is why I respect both you and Jason, you let people know that everything is not paranormal. Speaking of Jason, he needs to get in to see a doctor about that issue he spoke about. I really loved the history being told of this place at the beginning. What a big letdown when you figured the footsteps were actually some mechanism that rings the bell. Still, great investigation overall.

Spent three nights in the Lady Grey suit heard and saw nothing. That being said, our phones drained overnight. It is important to remember that the place was a wreck before the owners repaired it. I think even the national trust refused it because of the state it was in. All furnishings were bought in by the owners.

A mechanical clock does make a thump sound just prior to chiming. I have a recording of the clock in one of the churches in my town and it does it. There's also a creeking sound you'll hear if close enough. It's the chime spring about to release to strike the bell.

I just want to thank you guys for the composure you have while investigating and not filling your episode with tons of effects. The fact you had prolonged silence so we could actually listen with you and not some over done reverb before a knock....thank god.

Incredible, amazing episode. Loved, loved it! Wow, What a place! Great editing! You guys work so hard going to these places, spending hours carrying all that equipment around and editing the videos, yet you are always cheerful and so enjoyable to watch. Very grateful, and have so much respect for your real, honest and excellent investigations. Mark, once again, awesome narration. Absolutely terrific again!

An excellent episode, great intro from Mr Dead Cold again, fantastic investigation in a truly beautiful historic venue ( so when are The Ouija Family moving in?) Amazing de bunk work on the 'footsteps' which sounded so legit first and second time around. I honestly think you found the basis for the legend of the soldier that patrols that room so yes disappointing in one way but congratulations on epic observations and detective work. Anyway that's one story investigated, plenty more in that place !

Refreshing to see a genuine investigation with integrity. Most my life as been searching for answers( the why is not important) your content is needed more than ever.
